"Stellan?" I yelled, looking around the Inbetween. You would think I'd get used to this by now, being pulled out of my host's body without warning. But for me to jump only meant one thing: Stellan and I had accomplished our missions.

"There you go, yelling again." A cocky grin spread across Stellan's lips as he headed toward me.

When he got close, I hit him playfully on the chest. "Where were you?"

"What?" he froze, his eyes wide in disbelief. "What are you talking about?"

I scoffed. "I was facing off with Liv's mother and you were nowhere to be found... until the end!" I shook my head. "I thought we were in this together—"

Stellan's lips suddenly slammed into mine, causing my heart to pound and my breath to quicken. For someone that wasn't technically alive, he sure had a way of making my body think it was. He pulled back a moment later, leaving me breathless.
