I died... or I nearly died... I think. 

Now, I'm traveling to realms I never knew existed.

The purpose? To learn empathy for others, and how to become  a better person, all due to a crazy wish I made on New Year's Eve. 

Now, I'm bouncing from realm to realm at the hands of my hot mentor, who told me I can't fall in love with him. What a thing to say.

I have one year to learn the lessons of twelve virtues in twelve months... if I want my wish to come true... and if I don't want to die.

As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

My Crazy New Year's Wish

"Hey," Stellan said, wrapping his arms around my waist. "You did it!"

"We did it," I said, but my smile faded.

"What's wrong?" he asked. "You saved Renn's life and got Leila's life back on track."

I sighed, shaking my head. "Yeah, but Renn doesn't know about my father... his father. He doesn't know that I'm his half-sister."

Stellan shrugged. "Does it really matter?"

He tiled his head to the side. "Isn't the most important thing saving his life?"

I looked into his eyes. "Yes, I guess." I nodded, smiling. "You're right."

"So, what did you learn on this jump?" Stellan asked, brushing a strand of hair away from my face.
