I woke up to a spine-chilling scream the next morning, I tried to adjust my eyes to the harsh morning light and opened my eyes just to be met with a pair of dark brown almost black eyes who belonged to my gorgeous friend jenny.

Jenny is my best friend since high school and she lives in the same neighborhood as Edward and me, she has done fashion designing and working in a boutique waiting for a major break in her career.

"what the hell jenny.. what's wrong with you ?? what crawled up your ass??" I asked annoyed with her for ruining my sleep, as my head was already pounding with yesterday's events.

"chill.. girl I was just trying to improve your adrenaline rush so that you could live a little instead of staying in your room all day studying those fat books "she said rolling her eyes.

" And what's the big deal about these plants and flowers Eri? u can always buy them at some supermarket or a flower market" she said checking her lipstick in the mirror.

I was about to tell her the importance of plant science but stopped seeing dad running into my room as if our house caught on fire or something, he looked at both of us with a concerned expression.

" Are ..are you girls ..Ok?? did any thief sneak inside or what?? "he inquired panting heavily, I felt really bad for him and went to his side rubbing his hand gently and said"dad we are fine, jenny thought it would be funny to scare the shit out of me early in the morning by screaming like a maniac".

Jenny gave him her famous puppy dog expression for which dad always fell for, he always loved her as much as he loved me and treated her like his own daughter and she always loved him more than her own father who left her and her mom when she was a baby.

Dad gave her a small smile by waving off his hand like he has already forgiven her and said"Jenny don't give me a heart attack next time dear ..OK??" he said trying to look angry but we both know that he never gets angry on us, no matter how much we annoy him.

"you girls have fun while I prepare breakfast for both of you" he said and went downstairs,I glared at jenny for causing all this mess and she started giving me the same puppy dog expression but I'm not dad to fall for her cute antics so I took my baseball bat and started chasing her.

I chased her for 5 minutes but couldn't catch her so I gave up chasing her and sat on my bed panting heavily, she too stopped running and sat beside me catching her breath. we both were silent for 2 sec and started laughing like we just escaped from some asylum.

"That was so much fun Eri .. Anyway did you manage to find any job or you are still dreaming to work with that science weirdo" she asked playing with my hair. For some reason, she never liked Mr.Stone and never encouraged me to work with him.

"Hey, he's not a weirdo ok!! he is like a god for us science students..normal people would never understand him and his unique methods, so don't insult him before me again" I said a little angrily.

" Alright..alright.. don't be angry..mother hen, I am not gonna say anything about your Idol ok!! now stop spitting fire on me" she said raising her hands in surrender and i smiled.

"Anyway as for my job there's this lab assistant position at Mr.stone's laboratory for which I have applied but I don't know I will get it or not". I said nervously remembering how badly I have performed in the exam yesterday.

Jenny sighed and said "I don't understand your obsession with this guy Eri..he's just a handsome guy with loads of degrees and as far as I heard tons of ego, his father owns half of the new York but this guy left all that wealth and luxury here and started living in some remote island doing weird experiments .who knows what he does there all alone ?? what if he's some psycho and hides his victims there?? it's not at all safe for you babe and if you wanna learn you can do that here also, do you have to risk your life to learn from him??"

I understand her concern but its been my dream for 4 years "I know that you are concerned about me jenny but I really don't think he's a psycho killer, I am sure he can teach me better than anyone here and you know it has been my dream to work with him for 4 years, I would go through anything just to work in his prestigious project-O42 " I said excitedly.

she snorted at my excitement and said "Accept it babes u have a huge crush on this guy. I can see it right through your face.I mean I don't blame you though, God took his time to make that weirdo, he's wasting all that gorgeous body in some forests searching for weird plants"

I rolled my eyes at her reasoning and said"I am his fan even before I saw his pictures. when I was in freshman year, I read an article about a scientist who started growing crops in central Africa on infertile soils and saved many people from hunger. Later on, I started hearing more about his achievements in plant science and his charity work... I just admire him for his work, nothing else and moreover, he's far above our league jenny " I said honestly, she was about to say something but I didn't want to continue that conversation anymore so I tried to change the topic "anyways what's with your hair color why did you dye your hair? I mean it looks good but I never thought you would prefer my style" i asked looking at her dark brown hair which was platinum blond before.

"I just needed a change babes and when I was at the salon I just randomly picked this hair color. Are you scared that I would give you competition for your looks huh.." she asked me playfully winking, I have thrown a pillow at her "huhh.. forget that I even asked you that question" I said and started cleaning the mess she made.

Then i suddenly heard the sound of an incoming notification on my phone, It's 8 am in the morning, who would be texting me so early i thought and checked my phone and saw a mail from Mr.Richard(Christopher stones' assistant).

All the blood drained from my face looking at Mr.Richard's mail, I was not at all ready to see the result of my exam so I put the phone back on my nightstand and turned around to see jenny standing right behind me" who's texting you so early in the morning Eri.." she asked looking at the phone curiously.

she sounded so serious like some over-possessive boyfriend. I got scared at her tone and started stuttering"i..i...i...its .. it's..from this.." she laughed loudly and pinched my cheek but I stared at her nervously.

"Aww..look at your red cheeks, you are so cute Eri... don't be nervous babe, I was just kidding..."she said still laughing at me like a lunatic. I always get easily scared because of my over-sensitive nature, and jenny always pulls these stupid pranks.

"stop doing that ok?? you scared the hell out of me with your weird acting next time I will tell Edward if you tease me" I said playfully smacking her head. Jenny looked really scared for a second and smiled, wow so next time I will use Edward's name to save myself from her stupid pranks i thought.

After some time we both went downstairs to the amazing smell of pancakes, chocolate syrup, and fresh strawberries arranged beautifully on our dining table in our beautiful backyard.

My mom always wanted her own rose garden but she died before doing that, so I planted rose plants all over our backyard and did my own little experiments to develop more hybrids with different colors, I always wanted to grow a 9 colored rose but I never got succeeded in that.

Dad was sitting at the dining table and reading the newspaper, he immediately put it away seeing us"what are you reading so seriously dad?? " I asked him curiously but he shook his head and said

"nothing that concerns you dear come on let's eat ..jenny eat more dear u don't wanna look like your friend who covers her bones with skin do u??" dad told Jenny serving her more pancakes.

"dad that's a mean thing to say even to your own daughter..and..and..I am not that skinny.. just a little thin " I said trying to defend myself "come on Mr.Williams women these days starve themselves to look like her and you are complaining about her being slim." she said it's like something wonderful to be slim.

As for me, I am ok with any size as long as I am healthy, I don't wanna go through weird diets to gain a certain shape which is approved by a few groups of people.

Later Edward joined us for the breakfast wishing my dad good morning and they both smiled at each other like they were having some internal conversation, but I ignored them as they always have secret plans to watch football matches or something.

While everyone became busy eating their breakfast I started thinking about my unread mail and felt a small wave of nervousness in my stomach and lost my appetite. I stood up and excused myself telling them I have some important call to make and returned to my room.

I stared at my phone on the nightstand like its some time bomb. For the first time in my life, my phone looked scary, I slowly went to the nightstand and took my phone. I opened the lock and tapped on the inbox with my heart beating rapidly, when I opened the mail my heart stopped beating.

Mr.Williams( p.o.v)

Eri went inside the house saying that she has some urgent call to make, i immediately turned to Edward," Ed..what did you do with Eri's internship, did you ask your friend" I asked Edward because yesterday when Eri went upstairs he said he would talk to his friend for her internship.

He smiled and said, "I spoke with him last night Mr.Williams and he said he would talk to his father so don't worry, she won't go anywhere".

"But Mr.Williams, Eri wants to work in Christopher stone's team, it's her only dream since freshman year"Jenny asked looking concerned, "I know that Jenny.. but I don't want her to work far away from home at some remote island and I don't think its safe for her to live there" I told her seriously at which she nodded in understanding, I know that she cares about Eri's dream but whatever I am doing now is to keep my daughter safe.

I know that Eri has bigger dreams and I am proud of her for that but I just want my daughter to have a safe and secure life, I thought looking at her half-eaten breakfast.
