"what do you think you are doing by sending Ms.king with my lunch huh.." he asked me,

"umm..well I was little busy with some work so I asked her to help me" I lied, he looked doubtfully and said

"Ms. Williams YOU are my assistant, don't slack off by giving your work to others, I don't want to see anyone else in my office next time, this is my last warning to you" he said seriously stressing the word you and I nodded my head looking down.

I was about to leave his office but stopped after hearing his voice "where do you think you are going??" he asked with a little worry in his face

"you ..you..said you don't want anyone in your office so I thought I shouldn't be here" I said holding the door, he turned to the other side sighing and said"I meant others not you, you are my assistant so you should be with me all the time, get it"

"o..ok sir" I said and stood near his desk, he looked at me and raised an eyebrow, and said

"now do I have to make an announcement for you to eat lunch, come and sit" he said walking towards the table where his lunch was arranged.

"But..sir Ms.king prepared this lunch especially for you" I lied, as Caroline asked me

"Oh really..then there's no use in hiring you, maybe I should ask caroline to cook for me every day?" he said taking a bite from the sandwich, I didn't understand what to say so I kept silent.

"Don't you think I have cameras all over my property and do you think I don't keep an eye on everyone..and you think I am stupid enough to believe what you are saying ??" he asked giving me a pointed look at which I gulped nervously and stared at the ground.

"so now you are playing the matchmaker huhh?? I thought Richard was stupid enough to do that, now you also joined the gang huhh?? tell me how much money did you receive from my father to do this??" he asked still serving food for himself like its not a big deal...so that's the reason Mr.Richard was behaving weirdly during the journey huhh...

"My father and Caroline's father wants us to get married for their own benefits but I am not a puppet in my father's hands to act according to his wishes,I know every step my father takes...I can understand his reasons, but what are you trying to get from this stupid plot??" he asked looking at me seriously...

I shook my head nervously and said "I...I just wanted to work with you on project042.."

"So you wanted carolin's place in return for helping her with these stupid tricks huhh.."

"I..I..I am sorry Mr.stone, I didn't think properly" I said with tears forming in my eyes

"you didn't think?? who do you think you are to think about my life huhh?? you are not even qualified enough to stand in front of me" he said shoving the plate from the table, I flinched and stepped away my legs shaking uncontrollably.

He got up and kicked the table between us with so much force that it went flying and hit the glass wall shattering it into millions of pieces, I closed my face with my two hands in a defensive position, a glass piece piercing into my forearm.

"I can tolerate stupidity but I cannot tolerate dishonesty..." he said looking directly into my eyes, I felt afraid to look into his eyes directly.

people gathered around murmuring among themselves, I looked around and panicked seeing so many people watching me like an animal, Mr. Richard immediately entered inside and asked" Boss what's wrong?? what happened??"

Mr.stone looked between both of us seriously "I will kill both of you if you try to interfere in my personal life next time, go and tell my father that I would never do what he want me to do for his own profits" he said looking directly at Mr.Richard and left the room leaving me and Richard shaking in fear.

I looked at Mr.Richard nervously who was now looking like he would cry any minute, "umm..he already knew everything, I am sorry" I said holding my bleeding arm, he gave me an angry look and left.

Katherine Steele rushed inside after Mr.Richard left and held my arm examining my wound " your arm is bleeding, let's go to the infirmary" she said took me to some room filled with medical equipment.

"I have to remove this glass piece and disinfect the wound, just hold on dear" she said and started removing the glass piece, it was so painful that I couldn't stop myself from crying during the process.

"There...I have bandaged the wound, I will give you a prescription, take these tablets after dinner and come here to change the bandage regularly" she said while writing a prescription.

I wiped my tears and nodded my head "Tha..thank you, Ms.Steele, sorry for giving you trouble.." I said taking a tissue from her table and wiping my tears.

"its ok dear, it's my job to take care of the staff here,just..just..be careful next time" she said patting my head with a sweet smile, after Daniel she is the nice person I have met since I have started working here...

"I know what you might be thinking of Mr.Stone right now.., but just be a little patient with him, he is not as rude as he seems" she said handing me a bottle of orange juice..which I gladly took and drank from it.

"I understand Ms.Steele, I am sure he might have his reasons for his behavior, I have always admired him for his contribution in plant science and wanted to work with him, I might have crossed a line in my desperation to join his team" I told her honestly

She shook her head with a small smile and said"I have known Christopher for 8 years, if you want to learn from him just be honest and sincere, nothing else would work on him" I nodded my head in understanding.

"The wound is deep, you might get fever later, so it would be better for you to go home early and take rest"

"Yeah ok...thanks again for treating my wound...I will see you around" with that I left the infirmary and wore an overall coat from my bag before entering the pantry, I didn't want anyone to see my bandage and ask questions.

"Hey are you ok...what happened at Mr.stone's office earlier?" Daniel asked rushing towards me and checking me with concern, I felt really happy to see someone concerned about me in this place.

"umm... it's nothing Daniel, I am ok" I said assuring him but he looked like he didn't believe me.

"We heard the sound of a glass shattering and saw a furious Mr.Stone walking out so don't tell me there was nothing," he asked not giving up, but I was already feeling weak with the blood loss so I shook my head in a no and said" Next time Daniel..please don't ask me anything now" at which Daniel nodded in understanding.

I took a seat near the table and drank the juice Katherine gave me and held my head which was pounding like anything, Daniel sat beside me and took the prescription from my hands.

"umm..you don't seem ok..do you want me to get these tablets for you??" he asked checking the prescription, I didn't have any strength to go anywhere so I nodded my head, he immediately got up and walked out of the pantry.

I sat there for 10 minutes and went to Mr.Stone's office to ask him if he wants his coffee since it's his coffee time but saw some workers cleaning his office with Richard giving them instructions.

"Mr.Richard ..where is Mr.Stone??" I asked him at which he gave me an annoyed look and said "huhh...who knows!!" he said shrugging his shoulders carelessly.

"It's his coffee time so... I just wanted to check.." he didn't let me finish what I wanted to say by saying "Just shut your damn mouth for once...if not for you I wouldn't be in this situation right now..i don't know where he is but don't think that you can leave happily since he is not here, you help these workers with cleaning and then leave" with that he left the office.

To be honest, I don't have any strength left to help them but I didn't want to give any excuses so I started helping them, by the time we have completed cleaning, it was 6 in the evening and I started feeling cold and weak all of a sudden.

I felt too weak to even lift my hand so I just sat on the couch unable to stand anymore, one kind lady among the workers checked my forehead and said something in the native language, and brought me a glass of water which I took gladly and drank at once, I sat there for a few more minutes and got up slowly to grab my things and leave.

I have gathered the bag with Mr.stone's things and my backpack and started walking towards the parking, I felt too cold and weak by the time I have reached my scooter, I took out the scooter keys slowly from my pocket and about to start the scooter but I lost all my strength at once and slowly I felt like everything around me was revolving and went black at once.
