Erika is missing

I saw caroline entering the laboratory with a disappointed face, she went to her seat and started working on the report which Mr.stone asked us to finish by the end of the day, I wanted to ask her what's wrong but didn't disturb her knowing her temper and resumed my work.

After a few minutes, we heard a glass-shattering sound from outside, we both looked at each other in confusion and rushed outside but stopped after seeing Mr.stone furiously leaving his office, he gestured both of us to go back to our work without looking at us and entered the elevator.

we saw few people gathered around but didn't dare to step outside, we both looked at each other not knowing what's happening but went back to our work, I was worried about Erika because I had a feeling that all this is related to Erika, I have finished my report as fast as I could and went to the pantry.

I didn't see Erika anywhere but saw Mr.Richard running here and there making some calls, I saw a few workers in Mr.Stone's office cleaning and arranging the furniture, I didn't understand anything and thought to ask Mr.Richard but he didn't look like he was in a state to say anything, so I just sat there waiting for Erika.

While waiting for Erika I thought about her, even though I knew her for a short period of time I really care about her, she always reminded me of my little sister back home, she's really innocent and sweet, I understand her desire to work in Mr.Stone's team but she is not yet ready to work on the most difficult project like project042, I just hope she will be well prepared by the time we officially start working on the project.

while I was thinking about Erika I saw her walking inside the Pantry, she didn't look ok by the looks of it, I immediately went to her and asked"Hey are you ok...what happened at Mr.stone's office earlier?"

She looked so weak and would collapse any time, but she assured me that it's nothing, but by the looks of her and the sound we heard earlier I couldn't believe that there was nothing, so I have asked her again but she didn't say anything and i didn't wanna stress her so i took the paper she was holding and saw that it was a prescription.

"do you want me to get these tablets for you??" i asked at which she nodded her head slowly, she looked so weak, I immediately rushed to the pharmacy to get the medicine for her, there I saw caroline arguing with some staff member.

"hey what happened ??" I asked her at which she rolled her eyes and said "this idiot ruined our report now we have to write it again" she said showing the coffee spilled paper.

we have to submit the report to the research department in an hour so I got panicked seeing the ruined report and went to the laboratory with Caroline to write the report, we have finished the report in an hour and submitted it.

I almost reached staff quarters then I suddenly remembered Erika's medicine and went back to the research center, it was already dark by the time I have reached I was about to park my car, then I saw Erika lying beside her vehicle unconscious, I immediately rushed to her side and checked her, there was blood all over her left hand, and she was burning with fever.

I didn't understand anything for a second, and I really got scared seeing her like that, I immediately called the security guard for help and called Ms.Steele but she already left and went to staff quarters so she asked me to bring Erika there,i took her to my place and saw Ms.Steele waiting for us.

I carefully placed her on the couch "oh my god what happened to her ..why did her wound opened, I asked her to take rest after wrapping her wound, looks like she didn't listen to me" she said sighing and examined the opened wound on her arm.

"I .. I don't know, I don't even know that she was wounded otherwise I wouldn't have left her..its..its all my fault, Ms.Steele what happened to her?? why was she wounded in the first place??" I asked her.

"umm..even I don't know what happened exactly but I think it has something to do with Mr.Stone" she said while dressing her wound, my blood boiled with anger looking at the unconscious girl before me, Mr.stone might be a genius but that doesn't give him any right to hurt people to this extent I thought.

"Is she ok?? nothing serious right?" I asked her anxiously at which she smiled a little and said" nothing serious Daniel, she will be fine but you have to take care of her this night".

she got up and I immediately covered Erika with a bedsheet, I caressed my sweet sister's hair hoping she would recover ASAP "it looks like you care about Erika, you like her??" Ms.Steele asked me curiously at which I shook my head and said "umm..she is like my sister, I lost my sister when I was 10, for some reason Erika reminds me of her a lot, so ..."

she nodded her head in understanding "it's good to have a caring person like you Daniel, she is lucky to have a brother like you" she said looking at Erika with a small smile, Ms.Steele is a beautiful woman with a beautiful heart, I like her but I guess she doesn't see me that way I guess...

"I can help you look after her if you want" she said at which I immediately nodded my head in a yes, I saw Erika still burning with heavy fever and decided one thing that I would never allow anyone to hurt her not even Mr.stone, I won't allow him to treat her like a slave anymore.

Richard's POV

That stupid girl ruined everything, Boss understood our plan, what if he fires me tomorrow?? now what should I tell Mr.Stone Sr ?? how can I explain all this to Ms.caroline's father, I will never forgive that stupid girl Erika..while I was thinking all that my phone started ringing and to my horror it was Mr.Stone Sr...nervously I received the call

"Helloo...good evening sir" I greeted him hoping he wouldn't ask me about Mr.stone's relationship with Ms.Caroline.

"cut the crap and tell me how's it going with my son and caroline, did you manage to convince my son for the marriage??" he asked without wasting another minute, I got scared at that moment and lied to him by saying "umm..yes sir, they have been having a close relationship since Ms.King joined our team"

"That's good , finally my stubborn son is doing something useful for our business development, anyways in a few days Caroline's brother is coming to visit his sister, so take good care of him" he said and hung up.

Mr.King and boss have been good friends for 10 years so it's not a big deal to handle him but now my big problem is boss got to know about our plan but how?? maybe because of that stupid girl I guess, I have been calling him from 4 hours but his phone is off and I can't see him anywhere near research center so where is he?? I hope he will not fire me tomorrow.

Anyways I have to inform Ms.Caroline about all this I thought and called her she received my call after 3 rings" Helloo...Ms.king, I have to inform you something important" I said

"why are you calling me at this time huh?? anyways tell me what's so important which made you disturb me at this hour??" she asked irritatedly

"Mr.Stone got to know about our plan, all because of that Erika" I told her

"what the hell? what do we do now" she asked panicking

"Don't worry Ms.King you act like you have no idea about your father's plan, and tell him that Erika did all this to replace you in the team"

"But what if he fires her? I mean after all I have asked her to help me" she said at which I rolled my eyes and said" who cares? we can give her some money if he fires her"

"Alright then thanks for telling me all this, don't worry you will be rewarded well by my dad once I marry Chris" she said arrogantly,huhh I don't want any money from her father I just want my boss to marry her so that he won't be cheated by any gold digger in future I thought.

"You are too kind Ms.King, good night" I said and hung up the call, right after I hung up the call I got a call from my boss, I got relieved seeing his call and immediately received the call.

"Where is Erika?? why can't I find her anywhere in the house??" he shouted making my ears bleed, how would I know where she is?? and who cares but I composed myself and said" Boss after you left the office I was taking care of your office cleaning and searching for you, so I don't know where she went"

"if you do not find her in an hour I will throw you in the ocean myself, go to the research center and wait for me, we will check the CCTV footage" with that he hung up the call.

Huhh why does he care about that useless girl so much?? is he doing the same mistake again ?? I have to be careful from now onwards I won't let him suffer again I thought and went to the research center.

By the time I have reached the research center boss was already parking his bike, I have parked my car and went to him, he looked really bad, I never saw him like that before, he rushed towards the security room without acknowledging my presence and I followed him.

when I was following him I saw Erika's vehicle, so she must be here I thought and said"Boss..Erika's vehicle is here,maybe she is still in the labaratory" showing him her vehicle.

we both went near her vehicle and saw her bag and keys scattered on the ground along with some blood drops, I felt scared seeing blood, and looked nervously at my Boss.

He crouched near the vehicle and checked the blood drops, his hand was shaking when he checked the blood drops, I never saw him this nervous.

"Boss I guess it must be some wild animal, let's go and check the footage," I told him but he didn't move nor said anything, he just stayed like that.
