Chapter 10

Sarah's Mother pulled out her phone, "This is agent two four zero nine, authentication code zebra nine delta alpha four beta. I need a safe house, one near to my location immediately."

The person on the other line, a lady, "Proceed ten miles north, turn left, proceed three miles west, turn right, proceed one mile north and your safe house will be located on the left side with a white Ford truck in front, license plate four delta bravo three roger six."

Speeding up slightly, "Acknowledged."

Sarah bounced up and down in her seat with unharnessed anxiety, "Superboy and Sarah, the dream team! We're off to save the world with my Mother!"

As we followed the route provided by the operator, "Thank you Miss Jenkins, thank you so much. Is there any chance there will be a dog or cat at the new house?"

Sarah's Mother laughed, "Oh Ethan, there will be a dog alright, a guard dog named Brute. He's pretty scary but don't worry. He knows me and Sarah."

I grinned widely, "I love dogs. Wait until you can see what I can make them do!"

Before she could respond, we were surrounded by large black trucks with blacked out windows and no license plates.

The trucks covered our front, back and sides, "Don't worry Ethan, these are my friends. They are going to make sure we get to where we need to get without any trouble. Trust me."

Sarah and I exchanged goofy looks while we rode to the safe house escorted by CIA agents.

It was an odd feeling to be cared for and wanted. I had never experienced that before.

After just a short while the trucks peeled off and returned to base, I assume, and we pulled up to the gate of our new home, the safe house.

It looked just like any other house I had ever seen. Yellow vinyl siding, flower beds, and even a garden gnome in the front.

We were finally home.

Now let's go meet Brute.

"It's an odd thing being different and finding people that actually care for you."
