Chapter 19

Surrounded by the Director, his men, and my Dad, I had no control over my actions. Floating twenty feet in the air, I scorched the Earth around them.

No one could get in and no one could get out.

Sarah screamed and pleaded, "Ethan! Focus! You control what happens next! Harness your abilities!"

My Dad attempted to place his index and middle finger on his neck like earlier in the story but my fury was too much for him to combat.

The fire raged on, turning from orange to blue. Even angrier, the flames grew to ten feet tall, dancing with the wind.

As the men raised their steel prong loaded weapons, I swiped both arms wide open and knocked them all to the ground. My eyes blazed red as I floated above them.

The Director and my Dad came together to face me, two on one. Nothing would stop me, I was not in control of my emotions.

Sarah broke free of her bindings and rushed underneath me, "Ethan listen to me. You have to regain control. You are not one of them, you are not bad. Don't do this. If you harm them, you are no better than they are."

My eyes flickered back to the normal blue as the flames lowered and turned orange again.

My Dad continued to smile at me, "See son, you are weak. You're weaker than any of us around you. You have no discipline, no control. You are a danger to society. Let us help you."

Sarah retorted, "Don't listen to him Ethan. They don't know what is best for you. Don't hurt them but they are the enemy. Nothing you do now can make this better unless you regain control of your emotions."

Brute came hopping along, his leg was injured, "Ethan my boy, Sarah is right. We can handle this in a totally different manner. Trust me, I'm a talking dog for goodness sake."

Seeing Brute injured raised concern with me. I pushed my hands forward furiously and knocked my Dad and the Director up against the wall of the building thirty feet away.

I summoned metal binding and secured them around the two so they couldn't escape.

With them secured, I managed to regain control and float down to Sarah whom greeted me with a hug, "You did the right thing Superboy."

Brute hobbled over and gave me many doggie kisses as I used my abilities to fix his damaged leg, "Good as new Brute."

Now we had to decide what was next.

"Losing control was not an acceptable answer for any situation."
