Josiah's P.O.V:
"Bro, just once" Calix chuckled. He was my best friend since 4th grade. We were playing truth or dare, which was frustrating. He could have just been patient for function to start. Calix would always ask or dare me stupid things like 'Did you ever kiss a woman?' or 'I dare you to bunk the next 3 classes'. I don't even know how I managed to survive with him. I recently chose dare, and he told me that during this whole celebration, the only girl I should interact was Addilyn. The hell. I barely talk with her, though Addilyn was in my group for the biology project. She seemed to be anti-social, obviously excluding her friends. I was searching for her, hoping she wouldn't be here so that this dumb deal would be cancelled. But when I saw her, I am forever thankful for choosing dare at the first place.
She left her coffee-coloured hair for the first time, displaying the perfect waves of it. The dress she wore made her look entrancing. She looked entirely mismatched with the Addilyn I see at school everyday. I steadily walked towards her, noticing that Elodie saw me, she murmured some words. Addilyn's back was facing towards me and after I was a few metres away from her
"Addilyn is that you?" I asked her. Josiah seriously? That was all you had to say? What a great start! the other part of me arguing.
She turned towards me. Her face looked lustrous, with slight touch of makeup. Her eyes widened, as if everything that had just happened was unreal. My heart beated faster and faster as my head tried coming up of what to say.
"Josiah? Yeah it's me." She smiled at me courteously. Then we stared at each other for a while. I saw Elodie and Alora giggling and walking away.
"You there?" I questioned.
"Ah yes yes, so you managed to come here?" she inquired.
"Well I struggled my best since I had dozens of pending assessments." I joked, faking a tired reaction.
"Right"
"You look beautiful by the way" I snapped. What did I just say? I mean yes she did look drop.dead.gorgeous, but I somehow felt this was going too fast. Fast? But where?
She blushed and scratched the back of her neck, I guess she's nervous? She then opened her mouth to say "Thanks, you look good too."
Oh please, does she even know that I got this outfit from Calix? My parents don't have much time to spare with me and my younger brother, let alone requesting them to buy me some clothes.
We danced together, it was quite enchanting, since it was the first time I came that close in contact to a girl, and even the first time I touched a girl. Touched in the sense, dance. After a while, she excused herself, so I let her go. I missed the warmth of her, feeling that a part of me was missing. She was the part that was missing? I headed to search for Calix but he was flirting with a bunch of girls. Mentally rolling my eyes I went to the corner of the hall, attempting to take a moment for myself. All the adults seemed intoxicated and the rest, teens, appeared to not be bothered of anything else other than what they were doing.
"Hey bro" I heard a male voice. I hoped it was Calix, but the voice didn't sound like him. I scanned the crowd in front of me and to my utmost surprise, I saw a young man beside, looking at me.
"Hi...?" I responded doubtedly.
"Do you know Addilyn?" he stated.
"What?" Why did he ask me that question? "Uh yes I do know her. May I know the reason why you asked me so?" I inquired him, gentlemanly.
"She's my girlfriend."
My heart sank. Was he telling the truth? How can I just trust a stranger.
"We were childhood friends." He replied, ask if he read my mind. Well that make sense.
"And what you just did to her was not good" He continued. With confusion rising, I wanted to tell him that nothing happened but before anything could happen, he punched in the face making me fall. I groaned in pain, totally unexpected.
I rubbed my cheek. Being very furious, I instantly got up.
"Hey dude, I didn't do anything inappropriate okay?" However he had a syringe in his hand. Now this is going too far. He was about to stab me with it but I moved away, went went his back, then kicked and punched him in the side. He almost fell, otherwise no reaction. What is this guy? A human?
Suddenly I felt a pain on the top part of my chest. I looked down and saw the syringe stuck. No no no stay awake stay awake, I kept screaming to myself, unfortunately my body felt numb, defenseless and feeble. The only thing I knew was that Addilyn was the cause of all this. I let go of all the strength I have. I heard a soft laughter before I left, unconscious.
Elodie's P.e O.V.:
I felt pain rising in my forehead, causing me to wake up. A headache? I touched my head but immediately removed my hand. I felt a bandage. Was it was cut? Finally all the atrocious events rushed to my head. I was in my complete sense. The only source of light was a small lamp that was on the floor. I examined around to see Alora lying on a mattress, the same one where I was sitting. The mattress in which she was lying was just in front of my feet. I quickly crawled towards her and shook her vigorously. She mumble some words, her voice too low for me to hear.
"Alora wake up! Alora!" I whispered, being cautious, because there could be people outside the room. I stood up and investigated the room. It was exceptionally cramped, and the walls were painted grey. The room was neat, though the frosty atmosphere made me have goosebumps. I was still in my gown as well as Alora, but it was covered in dust. I glanced at my mattress to notice a neatly folded blanket. I bent over and took it. It had soft furry texture and was surprisingly warm, perhaps from the heat of my body while I was asleep.
"Elodie?" Alora sobbed.
I saw Alora sitting up, rubbing her neck then using her palm to wipe the few tears that were present on her face. Her eyeliner was smeared, and she had eye bags. Her face was dull and pale, showing no energy or strength.
"What did they do to us?" I muttered in fear. I sat beside Alora covering my forehead with my hands.
"Where are we?"
