Chapter 3

The world versus Hestia, awesome -note my sarcasm- I hate that moment. When all are looking at me, waiting for me because they think I have the answer. But is a lie.

The forest is burning. Yes, it was Lucy. But not at all.

I don't know what exactly happened here, is catastrophic, firefighters everywhere, fire, so much fire, Artemisa fixing the damage.

The trees grow again thanks to Artemisa. Lucy looks bad, Lost in her mind. A week passed, and my friend with red hair is like the girlfriend of Auden. Anton doesn't know Artemisa is asexual, and she wants to clarify things.

Derek is Derek, we always talk. About anything is easy to talk with him. He understands what I say, he knows to hear me and always knows how to answer.

But the situation here is other, other nothing romantic, I'm not saying that our relationship with these boys has a relation with the romance, is only... Stay concentrated Hestia.

Now, the crisis is a fire in the forest caused by the kings and queens. This is one of the problems because the other problem is the people in the streets demanding another authority. It's stressful.

They think what we do is easy, the organization of taxes, lower them but not too much, they only pay enough to keep the towns standing, clean and attractive. Most of the people did not dare to say anything since many things improved, and we are more powerful than them, but only because we took the risk.

Derek's fingers intertwine with mine, wonderful chills running through my body. But in my thoughts, a deja vu comes from a few days ago ...

"─Sorry miss, are you okay? ─He was blond, dark green eyes, tall and broad-shouldered.

I got up off the ground before he could react.

He had class. I nodded, a small and nice smile crossed my face.

—Sure, and you? ─I emphasize him with grace, and he lets out a laugh, short and husky, but pleasant.

In his arms he carried boxes, two to be exact. Then he took a good look at me, and his eyes widened, but he returned to his previous posture immediately.

—Yes, of course, but ... If you are Hestia, I am sorry your majesty.—I stifled a laugh.

People usually have afraid when they see me, so it's weird to keep him in front of me, even though it was a nice feeling, and cute.

—Strange, do you call me majesty. Call me for my name.— I shook the dirt off my white dress and tried to sound casual.

I was a somewhat serious person, and confident, I never used informal tones out of habit, so my voice came out a little strange.

─Hum Sure ... Hestia. —He looked somewhat uncomfortable, however, she also seemed the type of person who was used to wearing formal tones.

I wanted to talk to him more, get to know him, see him more often ...

—What is your name? ─We saw each other's eyes.

Derek, he had a spark of fun, always, like life was the easiest game in the world, a twisted smile that when he wants was scary. But Peter, he was distracted, less sure, but at the same time can talk fine, he was looking at me like he was trying to decipher me in a good way, and the silence wasn't uncomfortable, it was comforting.

─Peter. —He handed the box to one arm and held out his right hand, a pleasant little smile was present, and his voice was hoarse.

Simply fascinating.

I didn't know what to say, and the words that came out of my mouth could be interpreted in various ways ─Do you have something to do now?

The words could sound be a nice way of saying "I don't want to talk to you anymore," or "I want to keep talking to you, don't go." I looked away embarrassed, I wasn't turning red from the ice in my veins, but if it were normal, I'd be red from top to bottom.

─I have to work. —His voice was a whisper, disappointed. I turned my head back looking for his gaze, but he was looking into the box, tilting his head, and when he saw me, he was somewhat serious and uncomfortable.

Well, it was up to me to finish that.

─And where do you work? ─He pointed to a Chinese restaurant, I smiled looking in that direction.

─Maybe I go to eat at this place one day ... "

Derek's eyes connect with mine, I'm speechless, nervous, a lump forming in my throat.

What are you doing Hestia? What are you doing Derek?

It's a look and a kind smile, I don't know how long I was lost in my mind, I didn't know how to decipher my reaction either. A moment ago I was with Peter so comfortable, and now I am in front of this boy, who is holding my hand, and I ... I reciprocate, I don't turn away, I don't know how to react, how should I react?

My brain doesn't react until Lucy touches my shoulder with a finger and it's my perfect excuse to escape.

"Hestia we need to talk." Her voice, worried and full of regret, also makes me worry about what she will say, Artemis is behind her, walking from one side to the other.

—Come on. ─ I whisper, Lucy takes Artemis by the wrist to bring her to reality, and we walk towards the castle, Lucy whispers "Help us for now Auden" and I look at her frowning, then, I look back, Auden looks at us and when he sees me, nods.

I look back at the redhead, who only says ─He has a super ear. ─A note of emotion fills her voice, however not enough to overshadow her frustration.

When we get to the room, Lucy is standing, Artemis does not seem to be paying much attention, but she is sitting nervously moving her foot, and I wait impatiently to what Lucy I spoke to.

─ Where do I start? ─She says─ the former president of our lands is on the outskirts of the castle with many people supporting him, and I have afraid, why do you think that three boys we met a week ago are going to want to help us? And ... I don't know, maybe if they help us they'll risk themselves too, what if they banish them? What if they flee from us? ─I start to shake.

If we lose the kingdom, we are banished. We took an oath, that if we would eat a mistake big enough to be expelled from the kingship, we would be banished. We could use our powers, and scare them, but that would be the last option, did we want to be the bad guys in the story? It would unleash wars, people like us wanting to defend normal people, and it wouldn't take long for another like us to reign.

─In the same way, I don't think they will go away. Lucy continued before the long silence.

─What makes you believe that? ─Asks Artemis incredulous─ Do you think that because of your strange relationship with that puppy, he doesn't go to let you alone? ─I open my mouth to say something, Lucy is completely red and tense.

─The least we need now is a fight. ─I intervene by standing up.

Neither of them listens, they're staring at each other. I think about how to intervene but I can't

─Are you trying to insult us? ─Artemisa becomes tense as well.

The boys walk into the room, and I'm worried about the chaos outside.

Derek frowns somewhat amused as always, he looks at me as if looking for an answer that I am not going to give him.

This is ridiculous, a fight in the midst of all that is at stake, is this what we need? Of course not, we need answers, not problems. But they think differently from me. Why Artemis responds.

─What if I do? You've known him for a week, have you already fallen in love Lucy? ─Her mockery affects the other, I can see Lucy's fear and shame behind her pride and malice.

Derek giggles under his breath, and Auden growls, I look at both of them, but the wolf is so busy trying to kill Artemis with his gaze. And I look a little annoyed at Derek, who is only causing Lucy to have less self-control.

─What if I were? You don't know anything about this Artemis. And why haven't you told Anton you're asexual? Do you want to manipulate it? —I can almost hear the smile in Lucy's voice, but she's muttering.

I'm angry, with both of them, Artemis has hurt Lucy, and vice versa. A blow would have hurt less.

I see Anton out of the corner of my eye, who looks at Artemis in disappointment, Auden looks at him too, pursing his lips. The two of them get along, you could say they are friends. Derek seems out of place, so he just says:

─I am going to see what happens outside. ─ He gets out of the room, everything is quiet.

Auden and Anton have no intention of dating.

─Go ahead, Lucy. Tell them more secrets! She exclaims indignantly.

Lucy breathes faster, her veins are now very red and prominent.

─That's enough. —I mumble trying to take a step, but Lucy screams.

You started Artemis! Damn it! You always start problems where there are none! And now I'm to blame?!

Maybe he was right, but she always responded instead of ignoring her. I throw myself in bed to wait for them to fix the problem, they always do. Did I repeat that in my head, but suddenly I felt insecure, they had to do it, right?

─You are the one in love. ─Use of an excuse, and we all look at her confused since that is not a good answer.

Artemis laughs. But Lucy leaves the room, and Auden follows her.

And so it was how, there was one more problem in the great catastrophe, and perhaps, how we lost a queen.
