Chapter ten- Helena

Climbing was probably the hardest part of getting to the south. My hands were covered in blisters by the time the boys and I got to the ledge were we would circle to enter the south. We couldn't go through the passage to the top because bandits litter the tracks.

I remembered Jacob telling me. I could hardly believe I was so close to finding her. I would have never been able to get her without the tamers. Yet something seemed so... off.

Suddenly the boys stopped. I was confused and a dark feeling wavered within me. " Did you know..." Legon's voice came out cold. " Our sister died on this very track".

My stomach twisted in fear. " H-how"? I whispered feeling a sort of guilt. " She fought with an elite assassin," Ash whispered. My eyes widened in fear. The truth slowly sunk in. " My mother..." Jacob nodded.

" She sent a letter to her dear family telling them that she may not make it. Your mother was fierce. She thought ahead like that. It would have stung her heart to know her own daughter was with the brothers of the girl she killed".

" In fact", Ash cooed. He laid his hand upon a rock that pulled a rock door open. It opened a small door and a woman stepped out. Her hair was white and long. Her eyes stared back at me and a piece of me seemed to finally be there.

" H-H-Helena?!" My mother croaked as tears weld into my eyes. " Don't worry Helena we kept her in good health that way the both of you will be worth much more".

Ash spoke with such coldness that I could barely believe he was human. " Bastard!" I screamed pulling out my bow. My jaw clenched. legon smirked. " Do you really want to do this Helena?" He laughed.

Suddenly I hear footsteps behind me. I turned to find my eyes staring at the scene. " Mom?" Jaren's voice came both shocked and full of pain. Ash pulled out a knife and lay it on her throat. " Well isn't this a surprise". Ash laughed.

I shot my bow at legon while his attention was on them. It grazed his cheek and blood spilled slightly. " You little-". Before he could finish Levi had lunged at him. Both their fist where flying Levi had a glint in his eyes like a had never seen before.

Yet again, the tables turned as Jacob flipped onto him and put a Dagger to his throat. My head spun in fear and confusion. I had been set up and unless I went with them I would cause my brothers more pain. " Stop!" I screamed as the rest of my brothers rested weapons on the two boys.

Their eyes connected to me as I sighed. " No lives are to be lost on the account of me. This is my fight... I can do this... Please". I closed my fist and felt Noah's hand rest on my head as he nodded.

" Fine let's make a wager", Ash spoke with confidence. " Alright". I agreed my blood boiling.
