Chapter 14: Breaking the ice

Yang had gotten of the passenger ship at Anima, as she got on Bumblebee and drove off. She was looking for anybody who could help tell her which way to Mistral.

"Man, I'll be glad when I find someone to give me directions...I could also go for a drink right about now." Yang said as she thought of something. "Scratch that..perhaps I should find my mom's camp, that would help save time.."

She continued to drive down the path as she eventually came into a small town and came to a stop. She parked Bumblebee as she walked into a bar, she glanced around not seeing anyone aside from the bar tender, she walked over and took a seat.

"I'll take a drink please." Yang said.

The bartender looked at her with a curious look. "So, can't sell you alcohol. Last person who was in here ordered a Bloody Mary, to which I was questioning why. You'll have to find business elsewhere."

"Just give me a water." Yang said. "Also, who person? If you don't mind me asking?"

The bartender grabbed a bottle of water and slid it to Yang, he grabbed a rag and a empty beer cup and started to clean it. "Memories a bit foggy, but what I can make out...her hair was a reddish color. Almost a scarlet red..anyway, I couldn't see her eyes. She had sunglasses on. She looked to be a teenager too, I don't know why she asked for a Bloody Mary." He looked over to Yang as he put the beer cup down. "She took everything I had to make them. I tried to stop her, but she threatened me saying, one more move from you old man, and I'll make sure your eyes are in the back of your head by noon."

Yang blinked as she twisted the lid off the bottle of water and started chugging it down. She crushed the bottle in her hand as she looked at him. "Well whoever this chick was, is going to be messing with the wrong person if we cross paths..by the way, since I'm here..do you know anything about a bandit camp?"

"The Branwen tribe. Why do you want to know? You're looking for a fight, you best not go there. The leader is tough." The bartender told her. "But what am I saying? I'm gonna be out of business eventually."

"Why? Because the leader of that camp, is my mother." Yang said as she stood up. "Do you know where?"

The bartender looks at her before throwing the rag over her shoulder. "You can't really miss it, there's a huge wooden gate on the side of the road, word is there's some bandit goons hanging out there keeping guard."

~~~
After getting the directions to the camp, Yang got on Bumblebee and drove off. She kept a eye out for the path that the bartender told her about, she saw a group of people standing around as she went past pretending not to look back. She wanted to make sure it was the right place before backing up.
Yang backtracked as she parked Bumblebee. "Hey, fellas." She approached the group as she looked at them lowering her sunglasses. "May I go inside?"
One of the bandits stopped her by sticking their arm out. "Not a chance Goldy, no one's allowed in. Beat it."
Yang shakes her head as she throws her sunglasses off. "Alright, so hard way it is then.." She smirked as she was ready to beat some bandits up. "No hard feelings right? One way or another I'm going in to see my mother."
"Wait, you're Raven's brat?" The other bandit asked. "Boys, do you know what we have here? This is our opportunity to have Raven step down of leader and make us head honchos."
"Yeah..not gonna happen." Yang said as she cocks her arm back and punches them in the faces, before walking to the gate and pushing it open which was left unguarded on the other side. "See boys, that wasn't too bad."
Once Yang had gotten into the camp, her eyes locked onto the cage as she saw Weiss. Her jaw dropped as she clinches her fist, to think her mother would go this far to kidnap one of her friends. Her blood was boiling hot, she stomps her way over as she saw Raven exit the tent.
"Yang?" Weiss asked. "What are you?"
Raven was silent as she saw her, she looked over to Draken as she nods lightly. Draken went over to Weiss' cage and unlocked it to let her out, something was up. But Raven wasn't saying anything.
"Mom! What's the meaning of this! You go and kidnap one of my friends!" Yang shouted.
"Yang, calm down." Draken said. "She didn't technically kidnap her, she was on her way to Mistral and the cargo ship she was on crash landed."
Yang looks at Draken as she looked back at Raven. "Are you just going to be silent! You weren't at the fall of Beacon! I need you! I lost my arm thanks to a certain Faunus named Adam!"
"That's enough." Raven said drawing her sword. "I had my reasons, but apparently you didn't grow up enough to get my respect as a mother."
"Bullshit!" Yang snapped. "What reasons do you have that were so important to not come save me?!"
Vernal looks at her before looking at Raven, and then back to Yang. "I was the reason, I'm the Spring Maiden." She walked over towards Yang. "I came here to be part of the Branwen tribe, to be a bandit. I was getting tired of running because of my powers."
Raven glanced at Yang for a moment. "Unlike your brother Yang, he has my respect on being named a Branwen."
"Brother?" Yang asked.
Draken waved. "Me..."
~~~

After the family feud that broke out, Raven took Yang and Weiss into her tent as Draken followed behind them.

"Draken's my brother? And you've kept that secret from me? Why?" Yang asked.

"Because I didn't want you to know." Raven said. "Now that you're aware that he's your brother, he will be going with you and Weiss to where the others are."

"Uh yeah, how? We can't all fit on my motorcycle." Yang said.

Raven turned around. "Follow me." She stepped out the back of the tent as was leading them to the backyard of the bandit camp.

"Where are we going?" Weiss asked.

"Do you want to know why I was able to save you that time on the train?" Raven asked.

Yang would lightly nod. "Yes."

"It's because of our connection." Raven said. "Kindred Link, allows me to create portals to instantly travel to people I have a strong emotional connection with..."

"So..." Yang said. "Like with me and Ruby? We have a strong connection...and we both have a good one with uncle Qrow, would it still work like that?"

"It should." Weiss said thinking. "It wouldn't hurt to try."

Raven stayed silent as she swings her blade to create a portal. "There, I used my semblance to look for where Qrow was, you three go through."

Yang, Weiss and Draken looked at the portal Raven created as Weiss walked through first. Yang followed behind her as Draken was about to step through next. "You sure you want me to go with them? What happens if we cross paths on bad terms? Or if I die?"

Raven looked at him as she puts her mask on. "That's for fate to decide on what happens, now go. Before I change my mind."

Draken nodded lightly before he went through the portal, once he had done that. He was standing in the house with Weiss and Yang. The portal closed behind them as Yang glances around for a little not seeing anyone. Until..

Ruby dropped a plate as it crashed on the floor. "YANG! WEISS!" She didn't see Draken behind the two as she ran over and tackled the two into a hug. "You made it!"

Qrow walked down to see what the commotion was. "Well, look who showed up."

"Yeah...you can thank Raven for that." Weiss said as she slipped out from Ruby's hug and dusted herself off.

"Ruby, we have a brother...mom never told me." Yang said as she looked to Draken. "He's our brother, or your half brother and my blood brother."

"Draken's our brother?! AWESOME!" Ruby shouted as she was getting her mind off of what she had seen the other day. "There's so much we need to tell you all."

"Easy kiddo, save it for another time." Qrow said. "We don't have much time to express our emotions."
