Hunted

3rd person

Axle and Ahsoka wander around Coruscant. A mysterious person has placed a large bounty on the two ex-Jedi as more hunters have crossed paths with them. Though every time Axle or Ahsoka would defeat them, all they would reveal was a large bounty is against them and they are wanted dead. No matter how hard the hunters would be interrogated by the deserters, they would not crack.

Axle and Ahsoka knew that if they leave Coruscant, they would be at an even greater risk as the bounty hunters have a much harder time getting through Republic security. As long as they were on the Republic capitol, they were safer.

Axle's POV

It's been almost 3 days of searching for answers. We both agreed that we cannot go to the Jedi or Republic army. My coded communicator we recovered from the destruction was significantly damaged. Ahsoka and I would spend the nights in alleys as we couldn't stay in one place for two long until the bounty was removed. I hate seeing her go through this again. Even if it's not the Republic coming after us, someone is and is carrying a large amount of money in his or her pocket.

"I can't believe this is happening again." I said leaning against a wall. Ahsoka sat down next to me, "I know. Why can't we just have a normal life? I thought we actually had that for a while, but this is bringing back too many painful memories." I looked down at her as she curled up and closed her eyes. I would die to protect her and I know she would do the same for me. I will never fully recover what I saw on Malachor. Ahsoka dead in my arms. The darkness consuming me. I am no longer a Jedi and I was given the title of a Sith Lord until I pulled myself back, therefore I will protect my attachments. We lost almost everything. She is my world to me now.

"These bounty hunters have failed me. You must go and take care of them yourself." Sidious ordered. "But Master, how am I supposed to walk around Coruscant without drawing the attention of the authorities or the Jedi?" Dooku asked as they walked towards the exit of their secret building on Coruscant. "I will handle the Jedi and my associates will make sure the local security will be out of your way." Sidious responded, "Be careful Lord Tyrannus. They have grown powerful. Stay alert and prove yourself that you can still be my apprentice." With that, Dooku took a speeder to the under cities.

Axle's POV

We decided to go into a cantina where we know we would be safe for the time being, 79's. A clone bar where clones from the army would relax and get drunk. "What happens when they notice us?" Ahsoka asked. "Just keep your hood up. They're too drunk to notice us any way and it's a nice change of pace since the last time we were on the run, they were shooting at us." I said as we walked in.

Inside was the usual. Drunk clones everywhere. Many different companies and legions and even battalions were having the time of their lives. And is that, it is. Jesse in ARC trooper armor. Looks like he got promoted. "That's what we're looking for." Ahsoka says pointing towards a bounty scale. We walked over to it and saw a bunch of different bounties.

Trandoshans, Mon Calamari, and a bunch of other species. The hunters were scrolling through looking for a good score. They then found a holo-pic of Axle and Ahsoka, "100 MILLION CREDITS?!!" the hunters yelled in surprise, "Looks like their Jedi." a clone officer then walked over to them. He was as drunk as ever. The clone then leaned on my shoulder with a bottle in his hand and looked at the holo-pic. "Hey....I know them.....they're the greatest people.....in the galaxy." the drunk said laughing almost falling over several times. My mind just raced. Ahsoka and I talked to each other inside our own thoughts. OMG THAT'S BRAKE!!! I yelled in my mind to Ahsoka who had a concerned look on her face. If he was this drunk, he might recognize us and give us away. I carefully moved his hand off my shoulder and he dropped to the ground. "Sorry brake." I whispered as we backed away.

We needed to remove that bounty. "I'll stand lookout. You remove our holo-pic." Ahsoka says. I nodded and thought of a way to distract the hunters. Using the force, I made one of the hunters punch someone and they started to get into a fight, drawing the attention away from the holo-pic." I quickly walked over to the transmitter and accepted the bounty. That should keep these guys off of us, I thought to myself.

Ahsoka's POV

I leaned against a wall and looked around. So many old faces surrounded us. News broadcasts showed different battles that have happened and have previously happened. A picture of Anakin then showed up. Axle walked over to me, but I kept my focus on the picture. Axle looked up at it with me. Then a picture of our trial was shown. I couldn't hear over the commission and I couldn't focus on the audio with my senses. It was too painful to pay any more attention. "It hurts too much. I want to get out of here." I said to Axle. He understood. "I feel the same pain. Let's go." he said, pulling me into a hug. We walked out of 79's and started to walk back to the alley we slept in the other night.

Dooku made his way to a building near 79's and walked up the levels of the structure until he came to an empty room. He didn't have to go to them, they will come to him. He sat down and meditated. He focused on the two ex-Jedi. He saw them in an alley, he focused on their minds.

Axle's POV

That transmitter was out of the way, so no hunters on Coruscant will come after them, but others from different planets will eventually come. Ahsoka was sleeping against the alley wall, but I stayed awake. Next to her. I felt something. A familiar call. "Dooku." Ahsoka said slowly, opening her eyes. I looked at her, "Yes. He must have been behind this. He's here on Coruscant. A very poor way to set a trap, but I think we should face him." Ahsoka thought for a moment, "Alright. I'm in."

...............................................................

We arrived in front of the building where Dooku was. "Clearly he wants us to enter." Ahsoka said, looking around seeing no guards. "Oh we're going to enter, just not the way he expects." I said to her, "Follow me." as I force jumped up to the building across the street. Once she was up with me, we backed up to the edge of the roof on the other side. "I'm ready. Just say the word." Ahsoka smirked at me. I took a deep breath, "Go." We ran across the roof and jumped over to the other building. We dove through the window as it smashed into a million pieces. "HOW YOU DOIN!!!" I screamed at a calm Dooku.

The Sith Lord stood up, "I think it is time to end this preposterous problem." "Gee Count, I was thinking the same exact thing." I joked, pulling out my saber as Ahsoka took out my shoto. Dooku ignited his red blade and engaged us.

He was able to keep putting us at bay, but that didn't make sense. Why was he not being aggressive towards us if he wants us dead? Dooku just kept pushing back, then stepped back as well. He kept doing so until he stopped a few feet away from a window on the other side of the building floor. I heard beeping. The Count smiled and slashed the window open, jumping out. We tried to make it out as well, but an explosion set off.

Axle and Ahsoka were blown off their feet. Several explosives were planted underneath the floor. The pair were pushed through a wall and they fell down into a bunch of debris as more of it crashed on top of them.

Dooku looked at the massive explosion. He sent a probe to search for survivors, but the report came back negative. The Count pulled out his holo-communicator, "My Lord, I am pleased to report that the targets have been eliminated. They have been vaporized in the explosion." The holographic Sidious smiled, "Excellent work Lord Tyrannus. Now you must concentrate your efforts back to the war." Dooku put his hood back up, "Yes my Master."

Axle's POV

It was dark and hot. I could barely feel my legs. I used force to push some debris off of me and tried to crawl out. Still on my stomach, I tried to look around for Ahsoka. I saw her unconscious, Trapped underneath more scrap. I Force pushed the stuff off of her and crawled over. I felt her neck for a puls and sighed with relief that she was still alive. I passed out next to her.

...............................................................

I woke up to a bright light. "Looks like he's waking up." I heard a voice say. I slowly sat up to see a bunch of Coruscant undercity police. "What happened?" I groaned. One of the armored policemen spoke up, "You were caught in an explosion. We found you in the rubble with a young Togruta." I then got worried, "Where is she? Is she ok?" "Calm done sir. She's in the next room recovering. She's awake now and is currently getting treatment for her burns." I let out a huge sigh of relief, "Thank you." "No problem sir. Now if you don't mind, since we saved your life along with the Togruta, we would like something in exchange." The officer said. I laughed, "Don't worry, you'll get your money. I can pay you 3,000 right now." I reached into my pocket and showed the officer the credits. He reached out to grab them, but I pulled them back, "On one more condition. No word of our involvement reaches the ears of the Republic or Jedi." "Deal." he answered and I handed him the money, "So, are you fugitives? Or Rouge Jedi?" He said, holding up my shoto and single blade. I sighed again, "We were Jedi, but we left the order. We just want to live normal lives and forget about our past." The officer paused, "You two where the same Jedi put to trial for treason. I heard how that went. I'm sorry." I looked down, "Thank you. After what happened, our trust in the Jedi and Republic has been shattered so much, we left it all."

A medical droid walked in, "Sir, You friend has requested you." I got up and walked to the other room. "AHSOKA!!!" I yelled running over to her side. She had bandages over her body and forehead. "Please tell me this means we can continue with our lives." She jokes. I chuckled and held her hand, "Yea. We can do that."

After leaving the old medical facility, we went to a ship seller. We browsed around for a little while until we found a brand new ship. A Lethisk-class armed freighter to be exacte. He was selling it for around 30,000 credits. This was a huge steal since this ship usually cost a fortune.

After the purchase we flew it to Craig's Repair shop. I walked up to him and explained everything. "You know, if you really need it, you can leave your ship here for a while. On the house. I know it's been tough lately, especially with what you just explained. Normally I wouldn't care so much, but you never stopped working so you could make enough credits to live a normal life. I'll pay you more too if you consider coming back to the shop." Craig answered. I was shocked at this amazing offer, "Thank you. I accept." Craig smiled and walked away. "Hmm. What a nice Rhodian." Ahsoka said. "Yea. I'm just glad he understands. That's part of the reason why I like working with him. He's not another scumbag." I answer.

...............................................................

Ahsoka and I needed time to calm down. I could sense her emotions. She needed to relax. We walked into our new room on our ship. She pulled out the holo-transmitter from her cloak. I was surprised that thing didn't disintegrate. She smiled as she heard my thoughts and pulled me into a kiss. She dropped the small piece of metal and pulled me in closer. Ahsoka dropped her cloak and did the same with mine, pulling me on the bed.

Later that night, Axle and Ahsoka were in their usually sleeping position when a faint voice could be heard. "Axle." He opened his eyes, "Ellisia, I can't right now. I just want to be with her alone." Ellisia paused, "Very well. You have 7 rotations before you must contact me. This will be your final lesson once you are ready. Goodnight" Her voice faded away. Axle didn't even move from the confrontation. He understood that his training was almost complete, but to him, Ahsoka is more important.
