The Fear, The Anger, The Hate

Axle's POV

"Whatever happens we'll face it together." Ahsoka whispered in my ear. "I promise I will never leave you." I whispered back. The touch of her body against mine killed all my demons. It was like a barrier of warmth and comfort flowing through each other. "I love you." I whispered as she pulled me in tighter. Our faces touched as Ahsoka was millimeters away, "I..." She gasped and her face turned into a painful face of fear. I shared the same look as she stared into my eyes. She looked down and saw a red blade through her stomach. "No no no no no no NO NO NO NO NO" I screamed in horror and pain. Ahsoka slowly fell into my arms looking up at me. She gasped for air as a tear fell from her face. I never kept my eyes off of her. Ahsoka's hand slowly slipped from mine and she laid in my arms.....gone. My face was an ocean of tears as I held her lifeless body tightly. "Ahahahahah." I recognized that laugh and I turned to face it. A dark masked figure stood there holding the red blade.

I shot up from my bed force pulling my lightsaber to hand igniting it. I panted hard moving in a circle looking around. I realized what happened and disengaged the saber. I felt the weight of the bed pulling me down as I let out small tears, "Revan." I remembered when I saw the vision of Ahsoka dead in my arms from when I was younger. Before I left the order, but this felt so much more real than the last time I saw Revan. His voice echoed through my head, "You must know pain." The same words he used before he.....he killed her. I tried to relax, "It was only a dream...It was only a dream." I took in deep breaths pulling my shirt on and walked out of my quarters.

Chase's POV

Demon squad along with me and the command team are on the bridge looking at how we were going to intentionally crash the Imperial transport we stole yesterday. "Once we get past the blockade and kablamo that ship into the Imperial Governor's office, how the hell are we gonna get out of there? The Predator is a powerful ship, but it can't take on more than one or two Imperial class Star Destroyers. The blockade has around ten." Glock asked looking at the holo-map. "We steal another ship." D responded. Gunner folded his arms, "Great, now how the hell are we gonna steal a ship?" D looked at Gunner with a silly face, "What? I thought you guys steal ships all the time." "It's not that simple. There is so much security at the Imperial complex." Brake interrupted. I continued to stare at the map looking for a possible way for escape.

Axle walked in and we all saluted toward him. He nodded towards me, but something was different. I mean more than usually different. There was fear in his face. I walked away from the discussion. Axle looked out of the bridge windows into the constantly expanding void. I stood a few feet behind him. "Are you alright?" I asked. He waited a few seconds to answer, "Mmhmm." He didn't even move. I could tell he was taking longer and slower breaths. "Are you up for this mission? You don't have to go." "It's ok." He whispered. There was fear in his voice, "What happened?" He stopped breathing when I asked him that.

Axle's POV

I closed my eyes and held my breath. The image of the red blade through Ahsoka's stomach and her horrified face filled my mind. I tried desperately to connect with her telepathically hoping for an answer. "It's ok. I'm safe. I'm here." I heard her thoughts and I released my breath. Revan has failed. I opened my eyes, "Nothing." I answered turning to Chase, "It was nothing."

...............................................................

We dropped out of hyperspace in the stolen transport and continued to Roche. My only hope is that we can manage to get off the planet as soon as possible. I struggled with what I saw. I know Ahsoka is ok, but what if that was real? I would have lost her for good. The bright star to my universe would fade into the blackness the light kept at bay. Revan was playing tricks on me to tempt me more to his side. He will not succeed. That monster is only an ancient ancestral spirit. He cannot touch me or anyone I care about and I will make sure of it.

3RD Person

The transport cleared the blockade and flew towards the capital city. D took the controls and changed course to collide with their target. Both clones and Mandalorians put their helmets on and readied their jetpacks. Axle walked up to the front of the ship as D got off the controls, "Auto-pilot engaged. We're heading right for the target." Axle nodded and looked out the windows. The others readied their weapons and gear. The Gray Jedi stared at the building up ahead.

Axle's POV

I felt something. It was cold and empty. The last time I felt that was back in the Clone Wars. Something wasn't right. "TIE FIGHTERS!!!" I heard from the back. I ran to the other windows and saw a squad of enemy fighters shooting at us. "This was a trap." Brake realized. I had to act fast, "Everyone out, now!" They lowered the ramp and jumped out one by one. I took the controls to avoid the lasers zipping by. Chase was the last one waiting, "Axle, let's go." I again put the ship on the collision course and ran to the door. Chase jumped, but a laser from the Tie's hit the transport knocking me off my feet. I crawled to the door and looked outside. There was no time to think. The ground was getting too close as I jumped 3 seconds before impact.

I heard the huge explosion from the crash as I safety rolled on the ground. Debris came tumbling down. I used the force to push the scraps out of my way. I sensed that feeling again. It was colder this time. A dark figure could be seen through the smoke and fire as it moved closer. I stood up and moved toward the approaching threat. "You are quite brave to show up here, boy. I knew your every move." The figure laughed. Something felt familiar to his presence, "Who are you?" The figure stopped and stood there, "I am called the Inquisitor." I was confused. I already killed an inquisitor and so did Ahsoka. "Well I killed your friend 12 years ago." I answered, igniting my green and purple blades. "Yes well, I am the Grand Inquisitor and if I may say, the way you attacked the Jedi council shortly before your trial with Padawan Tano was absolutely stunning." I then remembered who he was, "You...you were a Temple Guard. You brought Ahsoka and I to the courtroom." The Grand Inquisitor laughed, "Yes I was. You and your loved one both were accused of treason, but instead it was your friend who framed both of you." I have had enough games and attacked.

After a brief duel we locked blades, "Impressive. It seems you have mastered most forms of lightsaber combat. You favor a very aggressive style of form six. Not many Jedi ever used an aggressive form six." The Grand Inquisitor says, intrigued. I gritted my teeth, "Which is why I was able to defeat more powerful enemies than you with ease." I then front-flipped over him and corkscrewed at the same time. He was somewhat shocked as I kicked him hard in the back. Debris was still everywhere as the Grand Inquisitor slammed into a large piece of metal.

"Good. Now finish him." I heard a voice say. Revan. I looked at the Inquisitor struggling to get up. "Do it, boy!" Revan yelled again. I closed my eyes, "No." I said with a strong and steady firm voice. "YOU WILL FINISH HIM!!!" Revan yelled again. Again I stayed calm and strong, "No. It is not the Jedi way." Revan screamed again, "YOU ARE NO JEDI!!!" I shook my head, "And I am no Sith. I am a Gray Jedi. Your control of my fear is over." "NO!!!" Revan yelled, but then his voice disappeared. Revan was gone from my mind.

I opened my eyes just as the Grand Inquisitor came in for a strike, but he suddenly stopped in midair. I held him in place with his blade inches away from my face. I gave him a smirk as his face filled with fear. I wonder what his fear was telling him. "My mind is clear. My demons are gone. I have nothing left to fear." I said and force pushed him away. The Inquisitor stood back up and pointed his blade to me. I ignited my blades and we clashed once again.

Chase's POV

After I jumped, I saw the rest of the squad jetpack over to the Imperial complex. I landed there as well as we immediately came under fire. All eleven of us were Mandalorian trained soldiers and we were fighting around three hundred average buckets with weapons. "THERE'S A SHIP ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE COMPLEX!!!" Brake yelled towards me. I nodded. "THEN LET'S MOVE!!!" Glock yelled, pushing towards the right. "WHERE'S THE GENERAL?!!" Gunner screamed as I looked at the exploded office building. Fire and smoke covered the crash zone. "I'LL GET HIM!!!" D yelled as he flew up to the wreckage.

Axle's POV

This was the longest duel I have been in since the Siege of Mandalore. The memories came to mind, but I did not let them control me. I let my depression and aloneness control my fear no longer. My hate towards the Empire was still there, but I didn't feel full of anger anymore. For the first time since Ahsoka and I were together, I can control my emotions. "You were right. I was betrayed." I said firmly, "But my past healed my broken spirit. I have come to realize that there is something stronger than fear. The Force." The Grand Inquisitor reflected more fear as he got into a defensive stance. I smiled and looking up as a missile came crashing down making the Inquisitor go flying. D landed next to me, "Glad to see you're not dead." I rolled my eyes and ran towards the battle for escape.

Chase's POV

We kept pushing towards the shuttle as more stormtroopers approached our position. I heard a shrieking scream and looked up. "WE GOT TIES IN BOUND!!!" I informed the others. One of the fighters came screeching towards me, but it came to a hard stop. The wings were all of a sudden crushed and the cockpit exploded. I turned my head to see Axle standing right next to me. There was something I haven't seen him do in years. Smile.

Axle took the lead and moved up to the shuttle. The stormtrooper's moral was broken and they were falling back. The rest of the squad ran to join our proud General once again. He stood beside me as I blasted at the buckets. Just like the old days. We boarded the shuttle and took off. "Great, we got the ship. Now did we forget about the huge blockade?" Gunner said sarcastically. D went to take the controls, but Axle stepped in front of him.

Axle's POV

I looked at him with a friendly face. He smiled back, "All yours." I took the pilot seat and flew right towards the destroyers. "Uh shouldn't we be flying away from the big bad ships?" Ace asked. I laughed, "The closer we are, the more unlikely they will want to hit us." Chase contacted The Predator for evac as turbo lasers flew past and Tie fighters closed in. "Hang on." I warned. The others sat in their seats. Thanks to me being force sensitive, I managed to avoid all hazards. The Predator emerged from hyperspace, but kept out of firing range. I flew the shuttle into the large red hangar doors and we jumped into hyperspace.

...............................................................

I was in my quarters meditating. I felt the telepathic connection to Ahsoka again. We exchanged thoughts and feelings. I felt lighter and clearer. My door opened and I sensed Chase enter. "Axle? How are you feeling?" I smiled and opened my eyes. "Better than I have felt in a long time." I answered standing up. Chase smiled, "I'm glad to hear that. I told the others the courage and pride you showed." I gave him a hug, "Thank you. You have been here for me ever since I was a kid. I can never repay you for what you have done." Chase put his hand on his shoulder, "You are the one I will never be able to repay. Welcome back brother."
