Soldiers of Peace Part 1

Axle's POV

It's been almost 3 months since I defeated the Grand Inquisitor. I heard that he survived the explosion, but he was sent to another location. To where I do not know. As long as he's not after me or Ahsoka I feel more relaxed. Even though my mind is clearer, I still feel a part of myself missing. Looking back, I hardly recognized my young naive self.

I'm on the bridge staring out the windows. Looking into the darkness sprinkled with lights. Chase walked up to me, "Something on your mind?" I continued to look outside. "I was fourteen when the Clone Wars started. I remember being assigned to head out for war. Fourteen years old, Chase. I can't believe the Republic sent us to war that young. We were trained to be keepers of the peace. Not soldiers. But as Ahsoka said, all we have been since we were kids were soldiers. Following orders. Giving orders. Leading men into battle. Even killing. We were all motivated to fight for a cause that didn't even exist in the first place. When I was fifteen, I started questioning the Jedi's perspective of the war. That year when by like a blur. I got a promotion to First Commander and All of my peers looked to me for leadership. It was a lot to handle. My sixteenth year came around and I felt a huge boost in maturity. I feel in love with Ahsoka and we started a secret relationship. That was the best time of my life. But, that's also when I saw how the Jedi fell from their rightful place as peacekeepers and turned into warmongers. They betrayed both me and Ahsoka, causing us to voluntarily leave the order because we weren't trusted. I turned seventeen near the end of the war and I became obsessed with learning the secrets of the force. I almost killed myself trying to master the darkness in me. Ahsoka saved me from a painful and lonely death. I was almost eighteen when Ahsoka and I were brought back to the war. We volunteered to lead the Republic at the Siege of Mandalore. That was the first time I was considered a respected General in my old Master's eyes. You believed in me. All of you did. Then order 66 was issued and the Jedi were wiped out. Ahsoka and I barely escaped with our lives, but killed Ahsoka's entire 332nd company in the process. That war lasted four years and brought out many horrors inside me. I faced reality that life was nothing but brutal. Then realizing all of it was for nothing completely changed me. All those men died. And for what? Most of my friends were killed in those three years."

Chase must have been surprised. I haven't been this open in years. He turned to face me, "You are my trusted General. My best friend. My brother. Ever since you were a kid I knew you would turn into a great man and you have. The first time I met you I was amazed by your enthusiasm. Sure you were naive, but again you were only a Padawan. I am proud to fight beside you anytime anywhere. Ahsoka made the right choice choosing you. Together, you are unstoppable."

He walked away leaving me to ponder on his words. Ahsoka made the right choice. I laughed to myself a little. I try to make those words true everyday. Who knew she and I met when we were three. Now we're sole mates. Master Windu would always tell me that attachment is forbidden. Boy did I go the other way with that. It's a good thing no one put security cameras in our quarters. Ahsoka somehow heard my thoughts again and I felt some cringe coming off of her. I again laughed a little.

Glock tapped me on the shoulder, "You done force calling her? Senator Organa is waiting." I opened my eyes and turned to him, "It's called telepathy and no I wasn't." Glock smirked at me, "Oh I'm sorry was she not done undressing? Come on dude the Senator doesn't have much time." "Very funny." I responded to his weird comment.

Senator Organa was waiting for me when I walked in. "This is Fulcrum. What happened now?" I asked. Organa seemed worried, "We just got word that the Grand Inquisitor has been relocated to Lothal." My eyes exploded open, "Where is she? Is she safe?" "Yes. She has been very smart on her movements. However, the Grand Inquisitor was assigned there for a different reason." Organa answered. "Another Jedi?" I wondered. Organa nodded. I was curious, "Who?" The Senator paused and looked down, "I'm afraid I can't jeopardize that information. I will do what I can to ensure both the White Wolf and the other Jedi are safe." "Understood. Fulcrum out." I replied and ended the transmission. Chase walked in, "What's going on?" I removed my hood, "Another Jedi was spotted in the Lothal sector. I think it's the same one I heard those troopers talking about when I was on Saleucami."

...............................................................

Later that night, I meditated in my quarters. Out of nowhere a faint light illuminated in front of me. "Axle." A voice spoke. "Ellisia. It's been a while." I answered, opening my eyes. "I sense much conflict in you." She continued. I nodded, "Yes. Revan cannot frighten me anymore, but something feels different. I don't feel whole." Ellisia put her hand on my shoulder, "You have been disconnected from your ancestors. When you cleared Revan out of your connection, it healed his dark spirit." "Wait. There is another side of him? I was a little surprised, "I thought his light was gone." "He has been freed and can now join his great grandchild Satele." Ellisia answered. I thought for a moment, "How do I fix myself?" Ellisia gave me a tender smile, "I don't know. You are no longer my apprentice. You must find the answer on your own. May the force be with you." And with that, she ascended into the air and vanished.

I meditated again pondering on her words. If Revan has been freed from his darkness, that means he was no longer the monster he once was. Master Yoda has told me stories about the fallen Jedi Revan. Thousands of years ago, Revan was a strong legendary Jedi Knight who turned to the dark side. He waged war against the Republic, but was defeated. The Jedi later erased his memory completely and retrained him as a Jedi. Revan later learned about his past and left the Jedi once again, but did not turn to the dark side. He fell in love with Bastila Shan and created a family. Yoda told me that Revan was one of the most powerful beings in history as he mastered both light and dark side abilities. If I'm going to patch this hole, I need to speak with his spirit. And I know just where to find it.

...............................................................

"Wait wait wait wait. You're going to Malachor, A DARK SIDE HOMEWORLD, because you need to have a chat with.....your great great blah blah blah blah great grandfather?!!" Chase questioned. "Yep. Pretty much." I responded walking to my ship. Chase stumbled in front of me, "You can't just expect to go alone." I pat him on the shoulder and smiled, "I've been there before. I know what to expect." "YEA AND LAST TIME YOU ALMOST GOT KILLED!!! I'm coming with you." Chase screamed. "No. I have to do this alone. I'll be fine." I answered him. Chase pushed me back, "Revan has been controlling you for three years. You just got rid of him, now you want him back? It's too dangerous even for a Gray Jedi Knight. You're getting ahead of yourself." I was starting to get annoyed, "I was a 17 year old Jedi Knight when I went to Malachor and I survived. Now I have almost mastered both the light and the dark and I'm 32." Chase backed down, "I'm sorry I know you can handle Revan. I just don't want to have to say goodbye. If the Empire finds you there they will capture and kill you. I order you to take me along." I gave him a tender smile, "You don't exactly outrank me anymore. Remember what Rex said. Experience outranks everything. And I definitely outrank you." Chase finally threw in the towel, "Ok ok. Your right. Just be safe out there. If you're caught contact us immediately." I jumped into my starfighter, "I will."

...............................................................

I came out of hyperspace at Malachor and looked around. It doesn't seem like any Imperials are in this system. I better hurry just to be safe. I flew down to the surface and found the dark ancient building where I first found Revan all those years ago. He's down there. I feel it. I touched down and walked into the darkness of the small temple.

After walking for a few minutes I heard his voice, "So, my apprentice returns." I stopped and looked around, but all I saw was darkness. "I am not your apprentice. Not anymore." I answered. Revan then emerged and walked toward me. His mask hiding his identity, "Yes I remember when you defeated my dark mental state. I am no threat anymore. Relax." I was so focused on him I didn't even notice myself tense up. I relaxed my shoulders as he removed his hood and took off his helmet. I did not sense any anger or hate inside him. He smiled at me, "It's ok. I'm just so happy to see my blood line in you. My 110 plus generations of grandchildren are now in you." I smiled at him. This was not the monster I have fought against. This was my thousand year grandfather.

"Thank you. You have freed me. I am so very proud of you my son." He finished. I could tell he means every word. There was no conflict in either him or me. Even though I just met the light side of Revan, it feels as if I have known him my entire life. My friends and family live in me and I will be connected to them forever. "This...this is amazing." I said almost shedding a tear. "Hmm. It seems that you have not been missing something at all. It seems that all you were missing was a loved one." Revan said walking towards me with a tender smile. I stood a few feet away, "I do feel whole again. But...there is one thing that will keep that true." Revan stroked his chin, "The Togruta. Yes. I remember when the other side of me tortured your mind. Tricking you into watching her die. I'm so sorry for all the pain I have caused." "I love Ahsoka. She is my galaxy and I will do whatever I have to to protect her. It was not your fault you turned into a monster. That was the mistake of the Sith thousands of years ago." I answered him.

"I need to leave before Imperials show up uninvited. I want you to come with me." I informed him. Revan put his hand on my shoulder, "My boy you have grown wise and powerful. I will be happy to join you. The only thing stopping me is the Sith guards." I remembered when those red bladed Sith attacked me the last time I was here, "Yea well I've beaten them before. Now with two powerful beings against them they will be outmatched." Revan grinned, "It is time we leave for good." "Oh really?" A voice spoke up and a ghostly Sith guard emerged, "Is that what you think will happen?" More of the Sith appeared out of the darkness. "How nice. A family reunion. I guess It's time to end your legacy once and for all." Another guard said as they all ignited their blades. I gritted my teeth, "We are giving you one chance to let us go, or be defeated once again." All of the guards laughed, "With Darth Revan gone our power is limitless. You will die slowly next to your lover." I looked down. I can't let them touch her. Revan put his hand on my shoulder. I nodded. Revan ignited his purple blade as I ignited my green saber and purple shoto. The Sith attacked hard. I was a master at most lightsaber forms, but these guards are very powerful as well.

After an intense long battle, I realized that there was a way I could defeat all of these ghosts. "REMEMBER WHAT ELLISIA TAUGHT YOU!!!" Revan screamed sensing my thoughts. That was it. That was the answer. I force jumped over to Revan as the guards followed. We were backed up against a wall and I force pushed them back. "REVAN GET DOWN AND STAY OUT OF MY SIGHT!!!" I yelled. Channeling all my energy, I closed my eyes and outstretched my arms. The glowing ball of light energy grew larger every second. The guards all had terrified faces. I opened my eyes and smirked at them. The force light shock wave blasted out of my hands and smacked all the Sith as they screamed and dissolved into nothing. That was the largest blast I have ever done. I knelt down to catch my breath. Revan chuckled, "Well done my boy. I'm just glad I listened to you or else I would have been destroyed like those guys." I stood up and winked at him, "Someone's got to keep my grand papy safe." Which made us both laugh.

We walked out of the temple. I stopped and turned around. "What's the matter?" Revan asked. "I think we should destroy this temple. If the Empire were to gain access, who knows what will happen." I answered. Revan smiled, "I agree." I nodded and outstretched my arms again, but this time both the light energy ball and the dark force lightning flowed to my palms. With steady feet, I blasted at the temple and watched it explode. Debris fell to the ground as it shook violently. The only parts left standing were the supports which were also damaged.

I turned around, but Revan was gone. "Do not fret. I will always be with you Axle." His voice said. I smiled to myself and boarded my starfighter and lifted off to the stars above. Revan's spirit has returned to me, but this time it was his light. I have done it. I saved my legacy.

...............................................................

I landed back on the Predator and walked onto the bridge. Chase came up to me. "So what did you find?" He asked me. I smiled and looked out the windows once again. I closed my eyes and sensed Ahsoka's breath. She could sense mine as well. I no longer felt sad that we were apart. Instead I felt happy that I will see her again. Revan was right. I just needed to reconnect with my own happiness. "Harmony." I answered. "I found harmony."
