Going home

Axle's POV

Ahsoka and I looked around at the destruction. We jumped through the portal which led us back to the past a few minutes after the temple exploded. Large pieces of debris were everywhere. I turned around to see what looked like a passageway. Ahsoka saw it too and we walked together down the steps of the path.

When we came to the bottom of the steps, there was a large room with small structures holding up the ceiling. Half of the room was covered in a blood red color. I looked up to see Morai sitting on one of the destroyed supports. Ahsoka nodded toward me and we both stepped into the water. It was extremely cold. So much darkness flowed through the current. If Ahsoka wasn't pure light and I wasn't a Gray Jedi Master, then both of us would have been consumed by the darkness. Morai kept tweeting her musical tune. "Most of the stuff that Ezra told us hasn't happened yet." Ahsoka said, holding my hand. I nodded, "They're probably having our funeral right now." It hurts to think about it. As far as the entire galaxy knows, Ahsoka and I are dead and we have to keep it that way. If anyone discovers that we're alive before we meet up with Ezra again in three years, serious changes could be made to the future. We need to disappear until the time is right.

I looked back at Ahsoka. She had a sad look on her face. I wrapped my arm around her, "Bendu was right. Were there is death, there will always be death. We are dead and Anakin is gone." Ahsoka nodded and leaned against my shoulder, "At least we got to see him one last time." The water no longer felt cold. Instead it felt burning hot. I held Ahsoka tighter, "We will never see Anakin again. That means we have fulfilled the prophecy. We couldn't turn Anakin back to the light because we represent his past. He wants to destroy it. But we gave him the memory of him losing his greatest achievement." "Us." Ahsoka finished for me.

We reached the end of the room and Morai flew down to my shoulder. She kept tweeting away. Ahsoka and I looked down the dark passageway. We step out of the water and looked back at the large room. "No turning back now." Ahsoka said. I nodded, "Let's get going." We each ignited one of our sabers for a light source and walked into the darkness.

Our footsteps echoed off the walls. My green blade and Ahsoka's white blade glistened in the dark. "We've been through so much." Ahsoka broke the silence. I held her hand, "We went from children, to Padawans, to Jedi, to civilians, to Gray Jedi, to General and Commander, to beloved friends, to mentors, to strong leaders, to agents, to Masters, to legends. So many titles we have achieved. So much respect we have earned. So much trust we have gained. So much love others give to us." Both of us felt a wave of sadness wash over us again. "And so much pain we have gone through." Ahsoka added.

There was light at the end of the tunnel. It grew brighter and brighter. Ahsoka and i disengaged our sabers and squinted at the increasingly bright light.

I opened my eyes and stood up, "I don't believe it. We're in the force gateway." I held Ahsoka stand up and she looked around, "How did we get here? There were no holocrons." "Hello Axle. Hello Ahsoka." It was Ellisa. "Ellisa? How?" I stuttered. She gave a tender smile, "You both have fulfilled the prophecy. The Grey Wolf and The White Wolf have helped The Chosen One. The future is certain. There will be balance in the force once again." I looked at Ahsoka, then back to her, "So, what now?" She put her hand on my shoulder, "As long as the timeline from here goes exactly as it had before young Ezra saved you, then you have nothing to do. There is no mission. No goal is set for you. You both must determine your own goals. Perhaps something both of you have wanted for many many years." Ahsoka and I looked at each other. We both knew what she was talking about. We never had the chance to really think about it let alone even have time to handle it. Ahsoka held my hands, "Maybe she's right. There is nothing we can do about the cause or the force without changing the timeline. Maybe we could finally have what we've always wanted." I smiled, "I agree." I turned back towards Ellisa, "How do we even get off this planet? We have no ship." "Come my former apprentice. It is time I show you both power beyond the knowledge of the Jedi and Sith. It is time I show you the power of The Bendu."

Ellisa instructed us to meditate as hard as we could. I saw so many visions. So many pictures. Bendu was some type of powerful force spirit. Ahsoka and I have met him once right before we came to Malachor. He told us that someone would die if we went. Ahsoka and I didn't care. We needed to know if Anakin was still in there. Our older brother and mentor will bring balance because of Ahsoka and I. I wonder how Ezra will contribute his power to aiding The Chosen one. I don't think his moment of aid has happened yet. "Through the power of The Bendu, you both will have unlimited access to the force. Even a source of teleportation. Now, repeat after me. I am the one in the middle." Ahsoka and I repeated, "I am the one in the middle." We kept chanting that montra for quite some time. "Open your eyes." Ellisa instructed us. We did as we were told. A glowing ball of light illuminated in Ellisa's hand, "The one in the middle. The Bendu. Grant these beings your power."

I heard rocks sliding against each other. We turned to see Bendu standing there, "Axle Tnguard, Former Jedi Knight and Grand Gray Jedi Master. Ahsoka Tano, Former Jedi Knight and Gray Jedi Master. The power of The Bendu will grant you the true will of the force."

I opened my eyes. Ahsoka and I were back in the temple ruins. "What just happened?" She said getting up. I looked at my hands. I felt something strong in my veins, "I feel, knowledgeable. Like, I've known how to use this power before." Ahsoka nodded, "Yes, I feel it too." "It's time you and I finally go home." I replied and pulled her in for a kiss. The Bendu's power didn't just transfer to us. The knowledge on how to use it also transferred. "Let's go home." Ahsoka smiled. We both held each other's hands and focused on that unnamed planet. The glorious beaches and the cool water. The grass waving in the wind. My eyes started turning white as did Ahsoka's. A storm of sorts was forming around our bodies. I continued to picture the planet. Lightning joined in on the storm surrounding us.

The storm settled and our eyes turned back to normal. The breeze of the wind brushed against our faces. The waves crashed onto the sand. We're home.
