Nigun looked at the two newcomers with clear disdain, at first thinking they were just villagers coming to beg for mercy. Then he noticed the clothing of the two people and that thought was instantly rejected. They looked far too fancy to be just simple villagers. Nigun didn't feel threatened by them but decided to be careful and ordered his troops to gather. Something about them made him restless as if his instincts tried to tell him something.
'Of course, something just had to go awry when we are so close to finishing our mission. Haaa~, being the servants of Gods is really trying.' Nigun thought.
The two strangers finally stopped a few paces away from his army, starting a silent stare-down. As time slowly ticked by, Nigun was getting more and more annoyed. Wasn't it supposed to be a common courtesy to introduce yourself when you approach someone? The manners of some people...
"Who are you?" He eventually asked, trying to keep his tone polite while his eyebrow twitched.
"Hmmm~?" A lazy drawl indifferently escaped from under the dark hood, "Sunlight Scripture? You heathens bowing to false six God-wannabe twerps are quite far from home, aren't you?"
Hearing that, the men from the Sunlight Scriptures froze, unable to believe the audacity of the man.
Nigun was also blind-sighted by the insult, not even realizing he didn't receive the introduction he asked for. Rei, however, couldn't care less. He wasn't aiming at Nigun or his men with his insult. No. He was aiming at the peeker who watched them through the scrying spell. He just insulted all six Gods and called Slane Theocracy heathens. That got to make their blood boiling, no?
"You-, You know who we are and still dare to insult our Gods in front of us?" Nigun whispered in a threatening growl while his expression darkened, anger flickering in his eyes.
Rei lazily waved his hand in front of him in a 'so-so' gesture, "Meh. Your Gods are dead. How... godly of them. Wonder how that happened..."
That actually made Nigun grind his teeth enough that even Rei who stood quite a bit away from him heard it. The anger in Nigun's eyes changed to burning hatred and it was obvious a battle was inevitable. "I am going to enjoy smiting your existence from this world, you heathen." He hatefully said.
Nigun was about to issue an order to his troops but Rei started speaking first, "Well, you can definitely try but it won't be me who you will fight today." He stated in an indifferent tone and nonchalantly shrugged, causing Nigun's irritation to increase while the guy was desperately keeping himself calm by gripping his fists. Only his gloves prevented him from drawing blood. Rei didn't pay any attention to the mental state of his would-be opponents. He just continued talking without being bothered, "No," He gestured at Solution next to him, "It will be Solution Epsilon who will fight you!"
Nigun and his magic casters were so taken aback they completely missed the time to retort. A maid? Their freaking opponent was supposed to be a maid? Was the cocky dipshit playing with them?
Solution stepped forward and gave a slight bow, not low enough to showcase respect, much less subservience, but shallow enough that it counted as acknowledgment. "Rejoice that my Master is benevolent enough he allowed me to face you. It will be my pleasure to show you the error of your ways." She said that with a totally composed even voice as if she was explaining something basic to an unruly child while her lips were locked in a gentle compassionate smile that had a small barely hidden mocking tone in it.
"I heard enough!" Nigun growled before he forcibly calmed himself down and showed a cocky smirk. It was a bit forced but Rei supposed he should be a gentleman and not point it out. Nigun then, in a calm amused tone spoke, "I guess I should have expected something like this from stupid heathens. To hide behind your maid. How shameless and cowardly." He mocked, not realizing with every word he uttered, Solution was getting more and more pissed despite not showing it outwardly. "Then again, people like you understand only actions. Angels attack the woman!" He ordered with a swipe of his arm and his troops instantly listened with eagerness. After all, it was only their discipline that kept them sending their summons to attack their taunting opponents before the order was issued.
Normally, Nigun would bypass the maid and order the summons to go straight for the rude man. While deep in his mind Nigun thought it is really a shame to just kill such a gorgeous woman, he felt extremely vindictive. He wanted to see the man's expression when the angels kill his little maid. He wanted to make the damn heathen feel despair!
Three angels flew straight at Solution, stabbing their swords in her direction while she just motionlessly stood with a bored expression. All four hits struck home, the first scoring a hit on Solution's neck, the second on her abdomen, the third right between her ribs, aiming for the heart.
The result was obscured by the bulky bodies of the Angels but Nigun was positive the attack worked and the woman was skewered. A cocky smile appeared on his face as he mocked, "All talk and no bite." He snorted but then noticed the Angels slightly shook.
Furrowing his brows, Nigun squinted his eyes to get a better look, only to comically widen them when he finally spotted what was happening. The blades of the Angels were unable to penetrate the woman's skin!
Solution boredly lifted her eyebrow, inwardly lamenting how to fulfil her orders and give the best impression to the people watching the battle. Naturally, her [High-tier Physical Nullification] on top of her defensive stats and the racial advantages against physical attacks the High-tier slimes had made sure low-level mobs like the Angels in front of her could never hope to hurt her. As for the strikes aimed at her abdomen and heart... as if their trash weapons could put a scratch on divine-tier equipment.
'Now... how to make me seem godly in their eyes.' Solution pondered.
What Solution didn't understand was that just being unable to be hurt by Angels was already enough to make her opponents' hearts stop from the sheer shock. Poor sods were in for a rude awakening.
Nigun and the Sunlight Scripture didn't get enough time to shake off their shocked state quite yet when Solution got an idea.
Lifting her head, she looked straight at the Angels flying above the Sunlight Scripture and gently smiled, completely ignoring the three that were still trying to pointlessly push their blades into her body.
A massive holy aura burst from her tiny body, an aura that in Nigun's mind vastly surpassed the highest priestess of Theocracy, engulfing the three angels, the Sunlight Scripture, and also the Angels flying above the humans.
Normally, a holy aura is supposed to be calming and warm but all the Sunlight Scripture could feel was a searing sensation all over their body, not quite hot enough to burn them but enough to drive home how insignificant they were in front of the being releasing it.
The feeling was gone almost as fast as it appeared but before the humans could gather their wits, Solution added yet another mind-numbing shock by casting a spell.
"[Holy Decree!]" She purposefully intoned just to be showy, before ruthlessly adding, "Kill yourselves."
And much to the utter shock of the Sunlight Scripture, the control over their summons was forcefully yanked from them, almost making them stumble before the Angels rammed their own blades straight through their chests, dying and disappearing in motes of light, making the world descend into a deafening silence with only a soft breeze disturbing the peaceful serenity while the aftereffects of the holy aura Solution previously released still permeated the surroundings.
Honestly, even Rei was surprised at what happened. [Holy Decree] was a spell similar to [Dominate Undead]. It allowed the caster to take over a divine mob and as such, it was heavily used in Raids such as Heavenly Palace that was full of Angel-type mobs. In Yggdrasil, it was impossible to take over creatures summoned by other people, however. This clearly warranted more testing.
Solution turned towards Nigun, the three Angels that previously attacked her dissolving into motes of white light, making her seem as if she was clad in light. She gently tilted her head and spoke in a soft caring voice, "Well, then... Do you see the error of your ways yet?"
