"S-S-So you a-are a priestess." Nigun tried to sound calm even if his voice was a bit shaky. He knew there was no way in hell he could win this fight but he still had his trump card. The woman in front of him was strong, he had to admit even if he wondered why such a strong priestess wore a maid uniform. Maybe she was even on the level of Black Scripture members! But... 'Even they can't face the strongest angel!' Nigun firmly believed, getting courage from that trail of thoughts.
His troops, however, were not as composed as him and promptly started to throw spell after spell at Solution.
The lineup of Theocracy's caster lighted up in various colors and magical circles while the names of numerous spells yelled aloud blended together but Solution just amusedly watched the ants in front of her trying to desperately hurt her.
Seriously, what was the point of casting Tier one and Tier two spells at her? At anything... really. She didn't understand. These kinds of spells were useful in the first twenty levels in her previous world before they were unable to do even a scratch on an ordinary mob. As for her... she had [High-Tier Magical Nullification] that made her immune to anything Sixth-Tier and below. Not that it made much difference in the game considering nobody used such low-tier spells once they hit high enough level anyway. On top of that, however, she had a ten percent magical damage reduction.
'Well, maybe immune is not the correct term.' Solution thought with a frown as she felt a small thud impact her when an earth spell hit her. It did no damage to her or her gear whatsoever but she felt a teensy bit of the force behind the projectile which made her curious.
The spells mostly disappeared before even hitting her person as the [High-Tier Magical Nullification] did its job, giving Solution plenty of time to think about how to continue her act while her opponents wasted their mana.
It took almost five full minutes before the light show of spells ended, revealing Solution in pristine condition, totally unaffected by the innumerable spells that were thrown at her. The casters of Sunlight Scripture could only gape in bewilderment as fear crept into their hearts. They were magically drained and their enemy was not even winded yet!
Nigun expression became ugly. At first, he had hoped they could still overpower the woman with superior firepower. After all, there were thirty of them and she was alone. Even if she was magically more powerful than any of his casters, their mana pools added together should still be enough to surpass hers, no?
Well, apparently not...
"Captain Nigun, what will we do?" One of his casters asked and Nigun decided it was now or never.
Reaching into his cloak, he pulled out a crystal, "I will summon the highest tier angel! I don't believe we won't win!" He confidently announced, making Solution look at him as if he was stupid.
Didn't he see her taking over his angels? What good would bringing another one do? She simply didn't understand how these humans thought. With how much her holy-attributed spells were boosted thanks to her Heavenly Saintess class, she could take over even level 100 angel even if it took a lot more mana.
'Then again... just doing something I already showed I am capable of doing would not be good for the performance.' Solution decided, already knowing how she would deal with this new challenge, a bit excited to fight level 100 angel. She even prepared to quickly pull out her weapon if it appeared to be necessary.
"Look, the shining form of the highest angel! Dominion Authority!" Nigun exclaimed as the crystal shone, showering the surrounding in light. Soon enough, the light diminished, revealing a massive figure holding a two-handed mace. "Are you afraid, yet? Priestess!?"
"Are you serious?" Solution deadpanned.
"Ha! If you kneel down and beg, I might be inclined to let you serve me and the Slane Theocracy, woman!" Nigun proudly gloated, assured of his victory.
Solution sighed in annoyance, "I knew you were stupid but this is pushing the limits. What do you think you can accomplish with something so worthless?"
"Wh-what?" Nigun was suddenly out of his thoughts of victory, unable to comprehend her nonchalant attitude in front of the strongest angel. Eventually, he decided to not think about it, 'She dares to reject my mercy?' He thought in anger. 'So what if she is strong Divine Caster! I will show you!', "Use holy smite!" He ordered the angel.
Solution could have done many things. She could have interrupted the summoning of the angel itself. She could have strike while the angel is casting his spell. She could have slaughtered the humans like sheeple because she was just that fast. But for now, she just patiently waited for the angel to finish his long-ass-fuck cast of a pathetic seventh-tier spell. Honestly, it was so friggin' obvious its summoner had no bonuses aimed to boost angel summons. She briefly considered summoning undead of a similar level to the angel and letting them have a go at each other... just for fun... but that would completely destroy her Master's plan.
Suddenly, a massive column of light fell from the sky straight onto Solution's position, engulfing her figure in itself while the ground started shaking from the sheer might of the impact and the surroundings were filled with light.
"This is seventh-tier magic no man can go against! Taste the judgment of Gods you ridiculed!" Nigun crazedly exclaimed while his magic casters excitedly watched what they thought to be a legendary spell.
The light fell from the sky for entire two minutes, spreading tremors through the ground and Rei had to admit, in the reality, the Holy Smite indeed looked cool. In Yggdrasil, it didn't have so much effect on the environment but here it actually caused a small earthquake. He shivered in excitement and anticipation, thinking what effect higher tier spells would have.
The two minutes passed and the excitement in the ranks of the Sunlight Scripture only increased... until it came crashing down like a burnt-out comet when the light of the Holy Smite disappeared, revealing unhurt Solution who sported a disappointed expression.
"Is that all?" She patiently asked and tilted her head.
Honestly, she barely took any damage from the spell. She had many magical defenses but the most important factor was that she was a divine caster. Trying to hurt her with a holy-attributed spell was simply moronic. Even if that spell was tenth-tier, she wouldn't mind taking it head-on. A mere seventh-tier spell with attribute she was most resistant to amounted to a mere annoyance to her.
Nigun visibly shook from fright when he saw the woman take seventh-tier spell head-on. In his desperation, he screamed, "Dominion Authority! Kill that woman!" The angel listened and instantly flew at Solution, intending to bash her with its mace.
Solution was getting a bit bored, however. She smiled and silently cast a ninth-tier spell [Archangel's Wings], causing six pairs of white angelic feathered wings to appear behind her, blasting the area with the potent holy aura they released, making even the Dominion Authority stumble.
From the point of view of someone who had no idea these wings were created by a spell, it was as if an angel just revealed its true face.
Solution floated a bit into the air, capable of flight thanks to the spell, and outstretched her hand towards the Dominion Authority that was still disoriented because of all the holy element present all around. Sure, it did slightly strengthen the Dominion Authority even if it was released by its enemy but it also slammed into it like a sledgehammer.
"Judgment of Gods, you proclaimed?" Solution's calm voice reverberated through the grassy plains, causing Rei to smirk as he realized she silently used voice enhancing spell, "In that case, [Holy Smite]!"
All divine hell broke loose...
