Hickey?

Klaus's POV

Momma was leaving for work right about the same time I was leaving for school. Surprisingly, Stormie was ready for school too. Normally, momma dropped Stormie off because I leave for school super early and she's too lazy to wake up early and join me.

"Leaving already?" I ask my mum, hugging and kissing her cheek from behind.

"Yes sweetheart. And I'm sorry to tell you that Stormie will be joining you today." My mum announced to both of us, giving me an apologetic look. I roll my eyes and glare at Stormie. Everyone knew how she could be a handful.

"It's not like I even want to join you anyway! Momma, I need to get my own car." Stormie retorted.

My mum snorted. "Honey, you walk like a drunk even when you're sober. Walk well before thinking of getting even a bicycle." Savage! I chuckled.

"Oh Ma! No, like could you believe yesterday he left me at school, again and...and I had to walk all the way here!" She complained, almost getting angry.

Momma burst out into laughter and I joined her but she whacked me with a napkin. Ouch! "It's not his fault. If you were waiting by his car right after school ended..." she shrugged, sipping her coffee.

"What?! But the guy leaves the school like seconds after we close. I had to look for his car too...I got there in 7 minutes Momma- 7, and he was gone." Stormie went on as we all followed my mum out of the house.

"We both know how Junior is like time, he waits for no man. Now stop complaining and have a good day. Both of you. See you later." Momma kissed us and drove off.

When we sat in my car, Stormie took out some sticky notes, wrote her name on them and stuck them on the dashboard and her seat.

"Umm what are you doing?" I confusedly inquire as I drive.

"Same effect as leaving a hickey. It's a reminder, fucking leave me after school today and I swear you won't reach home." She threatened.

"Uhh...hickey?"

"Oh. My. Gosh. Junior, you're still so innocent." She burst out laughing and I was completely lost.

"Leave it to the 'grown-ups' to know." I said sarcastically. There was silence. "Yesterday, about what I did...you're not mad anymore?"

"Of course I'm still mad but I still need you to do my homework and so till then, I have to be nice to you." She sighed and I knew I was already forgiven.

"Can't wait to leave for college and see how you'll do your homework."

"Oh it's that simple. I'll just get one nerdy senior whipped and he'll do my homework till he leaves for college too." My sister is such a witch.

"And what makes you think anyone wants you?" I snapped, knowing perfectly well that everyone would want her. My sister is beautiful.

"Ha! Ask Jake Owen when you see him in class today, unfortunately I'm way smarter than him so I turned him down. I mean, who wouldn't want any of this?" She said, making cute kissy faces at me.

"Yuck!" She disgusts me sometimes.

"Is it fuck you want to say but cannot? And that reminds me. Who was that girl I saw you carry to the cafeteria door? She definitely has poor taste in boys." Stormie teased.

"Y-You saw that?" I freaked out.

"Duhh...I was bringing my essay to you in the library. C'mon Junior who was that?" She pressed as we both got out of the car.

"J-just a limping brownie." I replied a little too fast. I swear I could hear Stormie chuckle. We both parted ways.

............

English was so boring and it got me yawning the whole time. I turn my neck a little and find Brownie staring right into my soul with a scowl on her face.

Total creep. She ogled me from head to toe and looked away.

That reminds me that I still had Brownie's letter because I don't even know her locker.

Lunch took forever to arrive. Without delay, I make my way to the library. Stormie was already at the doorway. "Here, make the handwriting more imperfect. Mwuah bye!" She shoves her essay in my face and bounces away. I was two grades ahead of her but she seems like the older one.

I looked down at my watch. In 3...2...1, and Brownie appeared, just like I knew she would. This girl was like an open book, so readable. She walked towards the library door.

"Move moron!" She demanded even though I wasn't in her way.

Without budging, I heaved and stretched out my hand to give her the envelope. She stared at the envelope for a while. "What is this?" Brownie questions and I ignore.

"Can't you speak?"

I look down at my watch, sigh and roll my eyes at her while tapping my foot impatiently on the ground. She snatches the envelope and walks away. Nice...she's beginning to understand my gestures.

The library was empty as usual. I walk over to my regular spot and settle down. For some reason, my glasses had a fingerprint on it which I found very unappealing. I got my lint tissue out and wiped it off. I whipped out my phone and searched up 'hickey'.

I wasn't surprised at its meaning at all seeing as this word came out of Stormie's mouth. After, I finished off Stormie's essay and began studying.

......

Back in Biology class, I could feel the anger radiating off Brownie when I walked past her to my seat. What was she so worked up about? I sat down wishing school was over already. My stomach was rumbling because I skipped lunch.

"Van Haver? Stay behind after the class is dismissed." My Bio teacher said. "Now the rest of you can leave."

I walked over to the teacher's desk with my bag.

"Hey...I know you're an outstanding student even though you joined us a few weeks ago but do you have difficulty in speaking?" She asked with curious eyes.

I shook my head smiling. "No, Miss Daniel's. I like to listen more than to speak."

"Oh. I'm sorry, you may go then." She apologised with relief.

"It's okay."

I walked over to my locker and exchanged some books. Well, Brownie had put the letter back in my locker. I smiled and grabbed it making my way to the car. Stormie was waiting already.

"How come you're late?" I was 5 minutes late.

"Teacher stuff." We both got in and I drove off. Hickey. I shake my head at the sticky note and look at my sister.

"What?"

"Nothing. Nothing at all."
