Dahlia's POV
As usual, I passed by the library to 'pick on' the freak and get a reaction for the little letter I sent him. Surprisingly, he was standing there as if he was expecting me.
He was wearing a gray coloured shirt under a thick blue-black sweatshirt and black skinny jeans with matching leather shoes. He looked so effortlessly clean and even I was jealous.
"Move moron!" I commanded him, even though he wasn't in my way.
Suddenly, all my evil plans vaporized and vanished from my mind when he stuck out his hand to me with an envelope in it. Was this some kind of joke? He was waiting here to give me an envelope when he could've just slid it into my locker?
"What is this?" I ask.
Nothing?
"Can't you speak?" I ask, getting irritated by his silence. In place of a reply he looked down at his gleaming Patek Philippe & Co wrist watch, rolled his eyes at me and sighed whilst tapping his foot on the ground.
Such an inpatient brat. I snatched the envelope and walked away back to class. I wanted to see the envelope's contents without the scrutiny of the girls I sit with at the cafeteria especially because of the kind of freak it was coming from.
Carefully, I rip open the envelope and unfold the plain sheet in it. My face went pale from shock...and then slowly, anger crept its way up my face.
On the plain sheet was a well detailed drawing of Klaus with insults printed in fine writing in an orderly manner around the drawing. And then realization hit me like a truck with failing brakes. All he did was re-copy the insulting letter I left in his locker but in a cleaner style.
I was about to fold the letter and I saw a little message in the bottom corner. It said:
'Only classy things attract me. Now that I've added class to this letter, you can re-address it to me.' I scoffed.
Eager to get a real reply, I went out and shoved the envelope in his locker. I was evidently pissed.
_____________
Not that I cared so much about school anymore but I couldn't stand being late. Had I not stopped to get some gas like I would've arrived on time. Out of frustration, I parked my car at the first spot I see.
'KLAUSVH', I notice on the number plate of the sleek black Audi as I park my car by it. KLAUSVH? Who owned such a- Klaus Van Haver- it then occurred to me.
He was classy indeed and obviously rich. Even as late as I was, I was checking out the inside of the sleek car when something caught my eye. It was neon green sticky notes stuck to the front seat and dashboard with Stormie written in bold on them. Stormie?
Whoever that was, nice way to mark her territory. But who is Stormie? Is she even in our school? The freak and her, are they dating? Nah...who would even want to date that nut job.
I kept thinking about the car and the sticky note as I made my way to my math class which had already began. I told the teacher why I was late and he let it slide. Yes, it's always forgivable for the cute girl.
Sashaying on the way to my seat, I kept my head high to avoid all the gazes and attention I was getting. What was wrong with these people? Do I look like I'll be entertaining them all when I haven't even spoken to most of them before.
At lunch, I walked straight to the cafeteria because I was with my friends.
"Shelby, is there a Stormie in our school?" I was still curious.
"Uhh...none that I know of. Why?"
"Nevermind."
Some totally whacko with braces walked up to me with a smile revealing her clogged braces.
"Nice hair colour." She complemented.
"Yes I know...I wish I could say that about yours too." I chuckled and everyone laughed except, Klaus? Klaus was having lunch? Her face dropped.
"Oh and, the next time you come up to me, make sure you have clean braces!" I added and turned away to look at Klaus but he wasn't there.
I turned again and he was right in front of me dropping an envelope on my table with an angry expression and walking out of the cafeteria to the library, maybe. Quickly, I swiped the envelope before Shelby could reach it.
"Really? You and the new nerd? When did that happen?" Shelby said while chewing on something.
"Ew shut up! He's just uhh...making an entry for the yearbook." I knew she would pry and so I stormed out of the cafeteria.
"I told you to edit the essay to my level of understanding! Ugh." I heard a wild voice say and I turned to see a girl kick, whack Klaus with a book and bounce off.
My eyes widened at the sight. What. The. Fuck. Who was this strange girl who had the guts to bully my prey? I walk towards the girl with rage and pull her back.
"Who the hell are you frea-" I almost called her a freak but I realized she wasn't one because of how trendy her clothes were.
"Get off me."
"Haven't seen you before. Who are you?" I tried to seem polite now.
"That's because I'm a junior." She stated, clearly irritated.
"So why the fuck were you hitting a senior?!" I yell at her and she laughs.
"I see my brother found himself a new girlfriend, sticking up for him." She laughs.
"Klaus is your brother?" I was shocked he had a sibling like her who was like me...I could tell.
"Uh Huh. So...who are you?" She asked friendly.
"I'm Dahlia...you are?" I questioned.
"Stormie."
"Oh." Turns out she's only his sister after all. I felt something. Was it relief?
"See you around Dahlia!" She happily bounced away.
I dash to the washroom to read the letter Klaus left. Lunch was almost over so I hurriedly ripped the envelope and took out the sheet.
Still in neat prints it said:
'It's rather unfortunate that I don't pick on girls, unless it's Stormie.'
Just that.
I was honestly shocked and ashamed by his polite reply when I realized I was running late. Speedily, I fly to my next class which thankfully, Klaus wasn't in.
.......
On the way to my locker after school, I bump into Stormie.
"Hey" I say to the strange girl.
"Sup Dahlia...uhh I'm running late, catch you later." She said hurriedly as Klaus appeared from nowhere, grabbed her wrist and pulled her away. What. The. Hell?
He didn't even look at me.
