Beyond the Trees

About 50 years into the war, aptly named the Great Beginning, people were homeless, most of their relatives dead, hungry, and desperate.

So, to ensure the continuation and survival of mankind, the compounds were created.

This system of sustained living was the first and only kind of safe haven in the Great Beginning Era. As the war raged on, people found a new normal for themselves. Everyone had their own compound and their new lives and families mindlessly following the rule of their Director who kept them safe from the evil outside the gates.

But, who can protect a child with no memory of who she is while evil lurks behind every door. As she struggles to survive in the place meant to keep her safe, will Calypso find her true identity? Or will her Director and her right hand puppet finish her off in the process.
