Part 8 : Date

That night I had an appointment, I meant a date with my crush Christopher. I still couldn't believe I fell for a dude at first sight, how could you even blame me? He is indeed handsome. I was so attracted to him, he's tall, charming and handsome.

I stared at myself in the mirror then I tied my hair into a ponytail and then I brushed my teeth. I didn't know where Christopher is but he did tell me that he was going to catch up with Juan and the guys. I was so curious about they were talking about.

Then, I heard someone shutting the door so I walked out from the bathroom and it was Juan. My best friend, he gave me a smile.

I walked back inside the bathroom to rinsed my mouth.

After that, I walked out from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my head because my hair was wet. "Why are you here." I asked him while I was getting ready for my date, feeling all excited about it. I was so anticipating the date and I couldn't wait to see Christopher.

He shrugged then he sat next to me on the bed, he playfully rubbed my head like I was his daughter. We were both laughing and playfully punching each other in the most childish way ever. We will never act like our age, we might be adults but still has a brain of a five year old.

"Stop it ouch!" Juan winced in pain when I pulled his armpit hair.

Guys are so dramatic.

I giggled, "Where is Christopher?" I asked.

He gave me a teasing look and with that I just rolled my eyes at him, "Why should I tell you? Aren't you going on a date with him later tonight? Ayee someone is excited! Hermana, I know you're gonna have a boyfriend soon but don't forget that we always hangout on every weekend. It's our best friend procedure okay?" He warned with an index finger pointed at me.

I nodded, I was indeed filled with joy when Christopher asked me on a date but at the same time I was worried that I won't have hangout with Juan that much, then I thought about it again. If it wasn't for Juan, I would've never met Christopher so I was so thankful for Juan. I was glad that he was happy for me.

"Sure, how could I ever forget about you? You're my best friend, the one I spend with most of my days, years, time, you are really special to me Juan." I said then I gave him a warm friendly hug.

He patted my back, "And you don't have to worry about him hurting your feelings because I already warned him what I will do if he breaks my best friend's heart." He said.

I let go of the hug and looked at him with the are-you-kidding-me look, I didn't know that Juan can be so protective of me. I was flattered that really cared about me, "Wow look at this grown up man, my Juan is being overprotective." I giggled.

"Your Juan?" A familiar voice said.

My eyes widened and I jumped a little when I saw Christopher standing in front of me and Juan, I didn't noticed he went inside the room? Maybe because I wasn't looking and maybe because I was too focus on Juan or I was too loud to even heard a door opening and closing.

Juan stood up and fist bumped Christopher then he bid goodbye to the both of us, leaving me and Christopher inside the hotel room.

I awkwardly let out a fake laugh, I didn't know why I did that perhaps I got nervous every time I was with Christopher. I tried to act all confident and chill, "So where were you?" I asked him.

"I hung out with the guys just now and did Juan say something about me?" He asked.

I nodded, "Yeah we were just talking about you." I mentioned.

Christopher smirked then I saw him putting something on the table, it was a takeout from McDonald's. Cheeseburger with French fries and coke for the drink, yeah I have forgotten about lunch because I was too excited and nervous at the same time for my date.

It was my first time going on a date.

He winked, "No problem hermosa, enjoy your lunch." He said.

He sat in front of me and he was just watching me eating which was sort of weird but I liked it. He was so adorable with his fringe and his beautiful brown eyes just wowed me, I was so attracted to his eyes.

"Your Juan?" He asked the same question twice. ----

I giggled, "Hey, Juan is my best friend and technically I know him first before I met you. Juan is a very important person to me. He's a best friend that not everyone can have, he was always there for me until now. Every time I feel down or lonely, he will be the one to make me happy because my parents are always so busy with their work. He's really important to me, he's my Juan." I said while staring at my food, I dazed out for a while.

I was reminiscing our past life and it sort of hit me hard when I said that, I know that I don't have feelings for Juan. I just love him with all my heart, I see him as a brother.

Christopher nodded, "Juan is lucky to have a best friend like you." He said.

I smiled at him, "I don't want to lose him, ever. He's my family, I would do anything for him and I think you should know that before you take me on a date tonight." I said.

He giggled then he took one of my fries and ate it, "Juan is lucky that he's your best friend but I think I am luckier because I just found out that you have a crush on me." He said.

My jaw dropped, "What? No, who told you that?" I asked with my eyes widened, I couldn't react whatsoever. I was stiff and I knew Juan would tell Christopher that I have a crush on me, knowing Juan he could never keep his mouth shut.

Unbelievable, I was so embarrassed.

He smiled, "You're so cute Valerie, you really are." He said.

I love Juan and hate him at the same time.

I sighed, "So I bet Juan told you that I have a crush on you?" I gulped.

My cheeks were burning from embarrassment.

He laughed, "So do you want to admit that you have a crush on me or are you on a denial? Either way I am flattered." He said.

I rolled my eyes, "Shut up."

After all that stupid bickering with Christopher, I went back to the bathroom to take a half bath. I meant I was just washing my body for the second time because I have Anxiety and I didn't want to smell bad on my date with Christopher.

On the other hand, Christopher was waiting outside our hotel room.

I couldn't believe I actually went on a date with a handsome man. It felt like a dream for fairytales inside the books, I was the damsel in distress and he was my prince charming. Usually, boys never ask me out because they assumed I was dating Juan.

I was wearing my simple high-waist shorts and black spaghetti straps which was a crop top with my red converse shoes. In my opinion, it matched perfectly. The fact that I couldn't even describe my happiness, I was smiling by myself the whole time I was getting ready.

I looked at myself in the mirror one last time and then I grabbed my purse and went out of the room, there he stood in front of me. He dressed up so simple but he looked so dashing to me, so attractive. I hate to admit that I am really attracted to this boy physically.

Christopher smiled at me then he scanned me from my head to my toes, "Wow, you're hot." He whistled.

I playfully slapped his arm, "Stop it."

We walked out from the resort and I saw a bicycle, it was black and red color. Black and red is my favorite combination of colors. I bet Juan told Christopher about that too.

"I'm gonna take you on date with this bicycle then we can go eat our precious dinner." He said.

It was really fun, I wrapped my arms around his waist. Wind was blowing and my hair was flowing, it felt like the time has stopped just for the two of us.

When we arrived at the restaurant, he helped me to tie my shoe laces and I didn't even noticed that it was untie. It felt like a stereotype fairy tale scene for me but I blushed when he did that so fairy tale does exists in real life.

The restaurant that he took me to, it was an open-air restaurant with a beautiful ocean view. It was so simple yet so beautiful.

The waiter wrote down our orders and I turned awkward again mainly because I had no idea what to say to him.

"Hey uhmm Valerie.." He called.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"Would you like me to be the Tarzan of your jungle?" He said still trying to onto his laughter but I couldn't help it and laughed really hard with his lame joke.

"Is that a pick up line?" I giggled.

He nodded and smiled at me, "Well I am pretty great with pick up lines. You'll be impressed because more to come." He said.

I acted like I was about to barf, "Ew."

He pouted, "I was joking." I giggled.

He was so cute, God help me. ----

Our order arrived and we were just talking about our family background, what he likes and what I like. The basic get to know each other topic and questions to hyped up our dinner date. He also told me about how many girls he dated in the past and I got jealous a little bit. I never even dated anyone in the past, I was single since birth.

After our dinner is finished, he took me to the beach.

We stared at the ocean, I felt the wind blowing with the sound of the waves. Everything was so calming and all the sudden he held my hand.

He looked at me and smiled, his eyes were sparkling. "Valerie, I have something to ask you." He said.

I nodded, "What is it?"

He ruffled his hair and giggled a bit, "I know this too soon but I really like you so I'm asking you. Do you want to be my girlfriend?" He said.

I couldn't help but to smile like an idiot, the joy and the happiness that he made me feel. Since then I knew what it was like to like someone who likes you back. The feeling was mutual and I got so distracted with his eyes. I couldn't believe that a guy asked me to be his girlfriend.

I nodded multiple times, "Yes yes!" I smiled.

He smiled then he pulled me closer, our face was only inched apart. "Can I kiss you?" He asked.

"Yes sir." I giggled.
