CHAPTER 5: BLACK MAMBA

Hades sipped the beer he was holding. He did not use shot glass because he was not in the mood to use non. He wanted to get wasted and disappear into oblivion where his heart can no longer for not worth in person. But even if he swallowed the wine, Amethys would not disappear from his system. He was crazy as fuck, God knows how much he loves Amethys way back then, he misses her scent and those Almond eyes who captured his heart.

"why did you run away, It's already Amy!?" Khalil asked him. "We need to take care of her, you know what possible things happen to her if we let her to be alone! For God sakes Mr. Frennier, Black Mamba threaten Amy's life!" Khalil growled at him.

"She can take care of her self. She lived five years without us by her side" Hades said seriously.

"I can't believe you, You'll regret this" Khalil's voice could be irritated.

He stopped drinking when his cellphone suddenly rang.

"Any update?" he opened the conversation.

"There's an emergency boss! The Black Mamba have tracked down Ms. Amy!" Red replied to him that he was not drunk.

"What !?"

"I trace already their destination Boss and right now they are in a coffee shop"

Hades suddenly remembered where he had left Amethys, At the starbucks! Less than a second, he ran to the parking lot and when he finally got on, even though the engine of his car did not heat up, he drove it towards Starbucks.

"It is rare for a woman to know martial arts. Wonderful woman" said Christian who is one of Hades' opponents in Business who is also a member of the Black Mamba. Amethys did not answer him but just looked at him seriously. Unreadable and scared and nervous on his face, far away from Amethys then "What do you need from me?" he said seriously.

"It's simple, you die so we can get revenge on Frennier" because Christian said to him she could not help but be nervous, not for her life but for Hades' life.

"try to touch him you will see hell" she replied boldly, he was so scared that Christian just laughed at her which made her especially annoyed. All she doesn't want is the one who underestimates her ability and is made to laugh even though she is not joking.

"It's scary. What if I told you that you would be our bait so we could make our real plan" said Christian, at that time he laughed a little.

"Isn't your style is too weak?" she smiled.

"What did you say!?" trace the pitch of Christian's voice.

"What if I told you that Mr. Frennier did not know me and that your plan was meaningless?" her voice is now more serious.

"You're arrogant!" Christian shouted that she was right when she stepped on it in the stomach to map it to cough up blood.

"Ahhhhh!" she heared some shout inside the starbucks.

"be thankful because it's too many people can be affected if I continue to do this" she said then approached Christian and put her lips close to Christian's ear.

"You don't know me well" SHe whispered on Christians ear then straight out of starbucks and quickly left there. When she finally got into the taxi, she was caught in her left lip which was bleeding due to the punch that she received there on another Christian companion and on her shoulder was hit by a bullet that was also done by another Christian colleague who is now is already asleep because he hit the chair on its head, and she was sure that Christian will also lose consciousness due to the kick she made. she poured all the anger, annoyance and nervousness into her kick, causing Christian to bump into the corner of the table.

'It's his fault that he should not play with a devil in disguise ' she whispered in her mind.

HADES and Khalil quickly arrive at the starbucks where he left Amethys earlier. His chest was almost tight because of the nervousness he was feeling. A messy, bloody floor and broken tables greeted him. There are also cops scattered around starbucks.

"what the fuck" Khalil did not say on his own.

"What happen here?" Hades immediately asked a policeman.

"There was a shooting, the wounded were already taken to hospital" replied the policeman who was talking to him.

"Chief, this is the CCTV footage" a policeman appeared and then showed the CCTV footage where he saw how the Black mamba companion punched Amethys in the face, and how it shot Amethys ,who was the one who make Hades angry as a fuck. Khalil and Hades immediately finished watching and they immediately left there and drove the car to the nearest hospital.

"If anything happens to her, I a sure you all pay for this. I will burn you all to die"

Hades almost drove the car to the hospital, he didn't care if the police would chase him, the only thing that mattered to him was to know Amethys' true condition.

When he was finally got to the hospital, he immediately went to the nurse station to ask where Amethys' room was.

"Amethys Imperial" he said.

"Let me check it sir" said the nurse then typed on the computer keyboard where all the patient's names they have are registered including the room where they are located. "I'm sorry Sir but there is no Amethys Imperial confined here" replied the nurse.

"check it again. I'm sure she's here" pag pupumilit pa ni Hades.

"it's really nothing sir" said the nurse.

"WHAT !?" Hades could not stop himself from raising his voice. he feels very nervous because he does not know what is happening to Amethys.

"Were the wounded in the shooting taken here? at starbucks just now" Khalil said.

"Yes sir, but only men are brought here, there are no women" replied the nurse who was surprised by Hades and Khalil.

Khalil nodded "Thank you" he said then Khalil and Hades left the hospital. Hades dialed his phone. He was calling Red to trace where the fuck Amethys is.

"Boss, we can't track him" Red replied to him.

"What the fuck happen to you" Hera frowned when she asked Amethys when she saw that the dress was full of blood and was cleaning her bloody shoulder because of the gunshot wound.

"Let me help you" she said then helped Amethys clean her wound.

"Some men stopped me and said they would make me bait to get revenge on Hades" even though she felt the pain she was still able to answer that Hera could understand.

"Next time be careful. Remember you need to get close to Hades, and theres a possible thing happen you is worse than this" Hera reminded her.

Amethys sigh heavely "Yeah, I know"

"It's done" Hera said as she finished tying Amethys' wound, then she stood up and handed Amethys an envelope containing the letter. "President Maze brought that"

Amethys immediately took it and read it. she almost lost her strength because of the content of that letter. He had to live with Hades to get information about its activities.

Only she knows what Hades really is. Even President Maze does not know its true purpose. The only thing the organization does is get information, Information that is pure facts. Whether it is bad or good, they have to write it in the telegram that they will spread all over the country. In fact, Amethys has many fallen politicians, politicians with bad deeds, Politicians who have a twisted view of life that only money is important to them.

"What did it say?" Hera asked her. Amethys just sighed before answering.

"I need to get closer to Hades" she replied.

"Looks like you don't really have anything to lose ah" Hera said laughing.

she stared at Her to make her to keep quiet. Amethys was just dumbfounded by the absence because Hera was right. Even though she didn't want to be near to Hades, she still had nothing to lose because Hades was her project. shre dug into his pocket where the Frennier mafia crest was.

"Life in life. Looks like I really have nothing to lose" none of his own he said.

It is dangerous for their lives to be together, because of the kind of life they have. Amethys has an organization where she will destroy Hades' life while Hades is a Mafia boss who has many enemies and many threats on the young man's life which can also be a threat to both of their lives.

Just like what happened earlier. He threatens Hades so that they can retaliate against him.

THE NEXT DAY. Amethys is not in the mood to go to work. The gunshot wound to her left shoulder still hurts but she had to go in the office because their editor in chief called her.

"Why do you think Frennier's business is so successful" their Editor in Chief asked.

Amethys shrugged "I know? What can I do if he is successful?" when she stopped and asked the editor and chief again "I did not continue my interview with him so I do not know anything about him except he is a successful businessmen " and that was a lie. She was pissed at Hades. If it had not left her there she would not have felt this kind of pain again. sHe feels so bad and she feels like he will fall anytime. Pain like a fucking burning hell.

Psyche who is the editor un chief of theirs sighed "Artemis, that's why you're here, I want you to know the reason behind his success"

Artemis fought not to roll her eyes "Ma'am, I know what I do, the President has already told me everything I need to do, and there is no need to repeat it because I understand it well."

Amethys is not afraid to answer their Editor in chief because they are just her colleagues in the organization but she still has to call her ma'am in the office because of her respect for her role in the organization, wherever, Pysche was in a higher position than she was.

Pysche sighed "I know Artemis" it meant to smile at her. "I just want to remind you that your project is important. And I also know that you are hesitant to do it. You do not have to be nervous because you know our very first rules in the organization."

"Yeah, I know" he said lazily. "So, what i need to do?" he asked.

"Make an interview with him. You only have 1 month to finish your project" the editor in chief replied.

When she finished talking to Pysche and she immediately went to the Clinic to clean her wound with Demeter.

"What happens to you, you look pale" Demeter greeted her when she entered the Clinic.

"I was just hit by a bullet yesterday" she replied as she sat on the bed.

"So, you were the one who got shot at the starbucks. You are really different" Demeter said laughing. Such a wound is normal for them. The gunshot can no longer bring fear into their system. When they were in Spain, the gunshot they saw were even worse.

"What ever" she rolled her eyes. "just finish cleaning that I need to go" she said.

"Where are you going? Will you start investigating?" Demeter asked her as she tied her wound.

'as if I need to' she whispered to herself.

When she finished, he immediately put on her jacket and left the Clinic.

HADES was preparing himself for a decent lunch, when his phone suddenly rang. He was immediately bored to hear that sound. He knew it was Khalil and it would tickle him again about Amethys.

They can fuck them selves, Thank you very much!

When the noise of his cellphone rang, he called next.

It's not Khalil, it was Gray, alright.

"What !?" Hades hit sent.

Gray quickly replied to him "Boss, someone is here asking about you"

Hades grimaced and replied "Fucking reporters."

Apart from Amethys, many reporters stumbled to interview him.

"How did you know Boss it was a reporter?" Gray replied to his message.

Hades rolled his eyes and replied. "Why would she ask a question about me? Reporters do that. Aren't they tired of asking questions even though they have no answer to receive"

after a couple of seconds, Gray replied "Boss, This one is persistent. She even asked for your adress"

Nothing's new. Hades Thought.

"Tell me who this person is. Call me" Hades send his message.

after the second his phone rang. Hades answered the called but he did not speak.

"Her name—" Gray's words were suddenly interrupted and replaced by a new voice, a woman's voice "I'll introduce myself" Hades almost stiffened in his seat when he heard Amethys' voice on the other line. "HELLO!" high voice Amethys says from the other line. But Hades insisted on keeping quiet and just listening to what Amethys had to say.

"Hey Hades Frennier, will you allow me to do an interview with you properly or I will go to your place and interrupted you just for letting me to interviewed you !?" Amethys shouted at him over the call.

'as if you can' Hades whispered to himself.

"That's mine, you have no right to shout at my Boss ah!" he heard Gray say. "Sorry Boss this is really weird"

"Ugh! It's really annoying" he heard Amethys complain. even then the girl's patience was really short.

"Hey don't shout — What the, theirs a blood on your shoulder!" he heard Gray say, reason for him to be alert. "Boss I'm sorry but I need help her. Her arm is bleeding" Gray said on the other line then the call died. He immediately called Khalil and he answered immediately.

"Go to my office, and bring Amethys as well" he said.

"Where is Amethys?" Khalil asked from the other line.

"She's with Gray on the ground floor, Go their now. She's bleeding" he replied then turned off the call.

Great Hades, just fucking great!

Couple of minutes later. He heard Khalil voice as he knocked to his door.

"Why did you go there" said Khalil. Amethys just stared at him and sat down straight on the couch.

"I repeat! I said I need an interview with Hades!" Amethys shouted then pointed at the young man. Hades just watches them how to fight. Just like before, noisy but no physical pain occurs. But even then they did not win over Amethys because of the loud noise in her mouth she got and too much to say.

"You should be put off first! You'll get hurt if you do, then you'll get crowded with some reporters!"

"Is it my fault that there are so many reporters today? Do I know that I'm not the only one who stumbled to get an interview with Hades" Amethys took a deep breath before speaking again "Why not just give me a special treatment" she added .

"Why I will you given a special treatment? Why? are you special?" sHe was stunned when Hades suddenly spoke. Just a few words immediately gave her pain in her chest. Amethys could not speak because her tears were dripping. "You're not special after all. It's been a year Amethys, how are you?" colder than its cold question to him.

"I'm fine" she replied

"Is that so? As far as I know, you are poor now" Hades smirked at her.

What Hades says was insulted her by causing her to feel annoyed with it.

"So what? Yes I'm poor like a mouse and who cares? The important thing is to be able to eat properly" he answered with a high forehead then grabbed the bag from Khalil. "The important thing is that I live and I eat in a clean way" with an emphasis on every word. Amethys uttered then the mafia crest she got was dropped on the coffee table and then finally left Hades' house.

When she finally got out, she could not stop her tears from dripping. It 's okay to tell her not to be special but to show her that she is poor she will not accept because she does not want her to suffer like this.

Before Amethys could finally get pass the Gate, she felt the pain of her wound and the darkness of her eyes. before she could hold on to where she was, she completely collapsed and lost consciousness.
