“My child, wake up. It’s already 8 a.m.” Manang said while knocking on my door.

I stretched for a bit before I answered. “Yes, Manang.”

“Alright, breakfast is ready downstairs,” Manang said before I stood and got ready to go downstairs.

When I arrived at the dining table, fried rice, omelet, sweet pork, fried marinated milkfish, and a cup of coffee awaited me. “Wow, Manang! This is too much!”

“Ah, yes. I didn’t know what you’d like to eat. Sir told me that you aren’t picky with your food but I still wanted to make sure.”

“Where is Mang Jun? Let’s all eat together; I can’t finish all of this on my own.” I said before sipping some coffee.

“Jun is already at the plant because Sir needs some help over there. Also, it’s okay, hija. I’ll eat inside.”

“No! It’s really okay. Besides, I’m alone. Let’s just eat together here.”
