Lydia's POV
I bit my lip as i looked down at my book while listening to Mrs.Newmort.
"Lydia." Called Blake's husky voice and my blue eyes snapped to his brown ones. My lips parted as I stared into those lovely hazel eyes so closely, after so many years.
My eyes took in his beautiful face. His beautiful long lashes, his perfect eyebrows, his slightly crooked nose and lastly his perfectly pink, plump lips.
I sighed dreamily. "Lydia." He called my name, snapping me out of my dreamland.
"Huh?" I said as I blinked a couple of times. "I asked if you have an extra notebook? I forgot to bring mine." He said as he started down at me, amused. The corner of his lips were tilted into a slight smirk.
"Ah yes. Here you go." I said, my face flushed deep red. He took the notebook and went back to staring straight ahead at Mrs.Newmort.
I myself turned my attention back to my teacher, mentally slapping myself for getting distracted.
Even though my family was wealthy, me and Julia had to work hard. My father had sat both of us down one day and told us that if we want to take over his firms one day, we have to first work hard and prove ourselves to be worthy.
I admired my father a lot. And, my mother too. Both of them worked hard to keep my father's firms at the highest position possible.
"As we know, this is the last year of your highschool. We are all aware that internal marks will be allotted to students based on their performance on their projects. I have decided that the partners you all are seated with right now, will be your partners throughout this year. And they will be your partners during your projects too." Said Mrs.Newmort to which all the students nodded.
I looked at Blake to see if he has any problems with me being his project partner.
He obviously doesn't.
He seems least interested in what Mrs.Newmort has to say. I wonder how this boy keeps his grades up.
Soon we were all assigned the topics for our first upcoming project. The deadline was the end of this month.
Apparently, each month we would be given a different project to work on. Great.
We started with our lessons. And, soon enough, the bell rang indicating the end of the lesson.
Blake rushed into keeping my notebook into his bag and running out of the class.
What's with the rush?
I shrugged and packed my own things, walking to my next class.
I guess I'll not be getting my notebook back anytime soon.
Soon enough it was the lunch time. I dragged myself into the cafeteria and cringed as I saw a crowd standing near Julia, discussing something with her.
Ugh how does she socialize so much?
I looked around to see where Alissa is and saw her taking to her childhood sweetheart, River Holland.
River Holland was Blake's bestfriend and Alissa's longtime boyfriend. They are very much in love and have been going strong for years now.
As soon as Alissa spotted me, she waved her hands like a crazy woman, making me chuckle. I rushed towards her and she pulled me into a hug.
"Hi Lydia. I miss you so much." She said to me and kissed my cheek, making me cringe.
"The kiss was unnecessary but I missed you too. Hi River, how are you?" I said to River, shaking his hand.
"I'm good, Lydia. Okay girls, I gotta rush now. We have our football practice in some time." River said, kissing Alissa a goodbye and rushing out of the cafeteria.
We both sat down on a table and Julia came to us pretty soon.
"Hey, girlfriends." She greeted us and sat down with her food. Alissa handed me the sandwich that her mother edpecially sends for me everyday because I love it so damn much.
I grinned and thanked her quickly before diving in quickly.
We three quickly got into a mindless conversation until the speakers of the cafeteria rang with an announcement.
"Good afternoon students. This announcement is being commenced to inform you that the last three lectures are free for everyone. Everyone is expected to head into the football stadium for a match being held. The winning school will be given a prize and will be donating that money to various charities. Thank you."
I squealed internally at the thought of seeing Blake play football. I have never ever missed a single match that Blake has played.
Never.
Once I was down with high fever but I still made sure to attend his match.
I feel happy when he wins and disheartened when he loses, although he loses on rarest of occasions.
Julia, Alissa and me grinned looking at eachother.
The rest of the day quickly went by and we all headed to the football stadium, sitting at the front seats.
I grinned excitedly at Alissa when she quickly went and brought us soft drinks.
I game started soon enough. We three cheered loudly as the players of our school entered.
Nathaniel, River and Blake were very easy to spot as they were the top players of our teams.
Nathaniel Garner is Blake and River's bestfriend. Noone could ever separate the three.
Nate was also Julia's longtime crush. We were all pretty sure that the feelings were mutual but neither of them ever made a move on eachother.
I bit my lip as Blake's eyes scanned the crowd, stopping at me, Julia and Alissa for a second longer before going back to his players.
Nate and River waved at us enthusiastically as we cheered them on.
Soon enough the intense game started.
We all held our breaths as Blake ran to the goals and threw the ball. He goalkeeper of our rival team was the best known one.
We all stood up as the ball moved to the net, he goalkeeper moved into action and we scored a goal. We cheered so loud as our team bagged its 9th award within 5 years.
Blake dramatically flew kisses to the crowd as the boys hugged eachother. While he was laughing, his eyes met mine and I gave him a smile.
He nodded at me once before turning his attention back to his team members.
My heart fluttered at the smallest of the gesture made by him.
I am such a simp. Ugh.
I looked at Julia and Alissa who were equally as happy as I was. River was quick to run towards us and pull Alissa into a kiss.
I awe-ed at the affection they both shared for eachother.
I saw Nate as he smiled loving at Julia.
And then I finally looked at Blake who lovingly pulled his on and off fling, Georgia into a kiss.
And my heart shattered for the 100th time.
