Chapter 6

Lydia's POV

"How do you like this one?" Clara asked to Julia as the saleswoman patiently stood with us. "Umm…no. This one is not it." Said Julia, causing me to roll my eyes.

"You have said that for the past 10 dresses. We haven't even got the chance to choose and try ours on. It's been an hour already." I grumbled, absolutely annoyed with her dramatics.

Julia rolled her eyes at me and went to try on the next dress.

Finally, she settled on an elegant nude colored dress and I sighed in relief. Alissa and I walked away, picking out our own choices.

I picked out only 3 dresses, tired of all the walking. 1 was wine colored off-shoulder dress, 2nd was baby pink formal drews, 3rd was a nude off shoulder one.

After trying them on, all of us decided that it was not it and Clara went with mom to assemble an outfit for me instead.

They brought with them a black tight fitting short sleeveless top pairing it with dark green short skirt and a dark green jacket. They also brought it with knee length boots.

"This is it. Good, now Alissa try yours on. Fast." My mom said rushing us so that we could get done quickly.

Alissa chose a floral corset dress that reached her mid thigh and looked absolutely beautiful. Julia and Alissa both chose their heels and then mom and Clara chose their own dresses.

We all then headed to Swarovski and bought matching jewelery. When we were finally done, I sighed out in relief.

During our drive back to home, I forced my mom and Clara to stop at our favorite fast food place-much to their dismay- and we ordered a take out to eat at home.

I happily climbed on my bed with my food and watched 'Say yes to the dress' while eating it.

Before I was going to bed, I got a text from Jacob.

Jacob: Hi, Lydia. Just wanted to wish you a goodnight. But, before you go, what kind of chocolate do you prefer: white, milk or dark?

Lydia: Umm…dark. Why do you ask?

Jacob: Just wondering. Goodnight.

Lydia: oh okay. Goodnight:)

What a strange but handsome dude. I sighed and kept my phone on the night stand before my mind drifted off to unrealistic scenarios of me and Blake.

If only it was the reality.

The next morning I woke up early. I rechecked mine and Blake's biology project before heading for breakfast.

I smiled as I saw waffles. I quickly spread some Nutella on them before running to my car for which father half yelled at me.

I cause a lot of chaos.

Ugh.

I quickly headed to my English lecture which was the first one I had for the day. I looked at Jacob who was speaking to Georgia.

I quietly went and sat on an empty seat. I hummed softly as I took out my books. "Hi." Jacob greeted me from behind, spooking me a little.

"Dear lord. Don't do that Jacob!" I said giving him a glare while smiled sheepishly at me.

Politely asking the dude who was sitting beside me to move away, he placed himself next to me.

"Look what I brought for you. Hope this is enough for making up to you." He said, handing me a dark chocolate while smiling charmingly at me.

I squinted my eyes at him.

"Huh thanks. You're weird." I said to him while I tore open the chocolate wrapper and gave him a small piece of my chocolate.

"Is this what I get in return for my kindness? I must say you wound me, lady." He said, dramatically keeping a hand on his heart.

I smiled but rolled my eyes at his tactics. "Thanks for the chocolate, kind but weird sir." I said just as dramatically, bowing my head a little.

We were interrupted as the classroom door opened and walked in 5 students with the teacher. Ofcourse one of them was Blake.

My breath hitched as his eyes met mine for a fraction of second. Dear lord, I love him so much.

He casually walked past me and Jacob, and went and sat next to Georgia, giving her a peck on her lips.

Why can't that me be and him instead?

I quickly took my eyes off of him before he could look at me.

The day dragged by rather painfully slow and before I knew it, we were all going home. I decided to go and stop by at the nearest park and get some ice cream for myself.

Yes, I'm a loner sometimes. But, I like it. I ate my ice cream as I looked at the kids playing around.

So cute.

I looked at the pretty sky and smile. Sometimes, we forget about the world's smallest things can bring a great amount of peace and joy to us. That is, if we get out of the internet world hah.

I heard a throat being cleared besides me, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked at the person and my heart stopped when I saw that the person was none other than Blake.

He raised an eyebrow at me when I smiled awkwardly at him.

"You're weird." He said, scrunching his nose a little. I don't know why, but a pang of hurt hit my heart at his words.

"Uh." I said awkwardly. "Is there something you want?" I asked him to which he shrugged.

"No, I was just stopping by the park and I saw you sitting here staring at the sky. What were you smiling at?" He asked me, placing himself next to me.

Dear lord, how do I tell my crush that I was enjoying 'life' without looking weird.

"Umm nothing. By the way, I submitted our project." I informed him, successfully changing the topic. He shrugged as if he didn't care and we fell into silence.

My ice cream had been finished a while ago.

My brain was still trying to grasp the idea that I was spending some moments of peaceful silence with THE Blake Parker.

I looked at his beautiful face from my side eye and my heart longed for him. I have wanted him for a long time.

And, I knew that I would never have him. But, I still don't have the will to accept that truth.

If only I could have him, it would be a miracle.
