Chapter 8: The Dragon
The people of the town stared at the dragon in fear.
"T-the dragon" the mayor said
"Evacute the people and gather adventurers!" Sozen said "Now! We don't have much time!"
The mayor ran.
"While he's doing that..." he looked at the dragon in the distance walking slowly to the town "we'll try to buy them some time"
They hopped on their horses and rode off.
They were a few feet away from the dragon.
"How do we stop him?!" Aiko asked scared.
"Weapons dont work on him!!" Celes said
"Neither magic!" Ume said
"Weapons do work" Tranzarus said
"Huh? Doesnt it work?" asked confused Aiko
"Well only one weapon works" Tranzarus said
"They used, spears, swords, arrows... what other weapon could penetrate its skin?" asked Celes
"A cannon!" Tranzarus said
"A-a cannon?" said Silver confused "Its not the time to joke around!!" she slapped Tranzarus.
"Besides we dont have a cannon" Aiko said
Sho and Sozen were thinking.
"No, not a big cannon! A small one that you hold!" Tranzarus said
"Small one that you hold?" asked confused Aiko.
Sozen realized what Tranzarus was talking about.
"You mean a gun?" asked Sozen.
Sho realized it aswell.
"Yes! That gun-thingy" Tranzarus said
"A gun?" asked Celes confused "what's that?"
"Wait, you dont know?" asked Tranzarus confused
"If I remember that thing was invented recently" Aiko said
Sozen realized something. If the gun was recently invented, how did Tranzarus knew about it?
"Tranzarus" said Sozen serious "how did you know about a gun?"
"Hm?" said Tranzarus confused
"Because guns were recently just invented" Sozen said
Everyone realized.
"You're right how did-" Aiko gets interrupted.
A fireball hits near them.
"Now it's not the time!" Tranzarus said.
Tranzarus turned into a gun and Sozen picked her up.
"Let's go!" Sozen said
"Yes!" everyone shouted
The others distracted the dragon while Sozen shooting it, it had no effect.
"Dangit! Its skin is like if it was bulletproof!" Sozen said
"It must have a weakness!" Tranzarus said
Sozen looked around the dragon, he couldnt see any weaknesses, but maybe the eyes?
"Maybe the eyes?" suggested Sozen
"Its our only option.. well it's a better option than the mouth" Tranzarus said
"Wait, what did you say?!" Sozen said
"Oh nothing" Tranzarus said
"But how will we get up there?" asked Sozen
"Maybe we dont need to?" said Tranzarus
"You mean shoot it from here?!" said Sozen scared
"Yeah" Tranzarus said
"That's difficult" Sozen was thinking and then had an idea "Tranzarus! You know what a sniper is?"
"A sniper? Is that another type of gun?" Tranzarus asked
"Its used for very very long-range distances" Sozen explained.
"Oh I see" said Tranzarus "Imagine it and I'll know how it looks like so I can transform" she said
He imagined it, in just a few seconds Tranzarus became a sniper.
"So this is a sniper?" said Tranzarus
"Yeah" he put the sniper into position and shot the dragon's eye!
The dragon growled in pain, then released very strong winds that pushed Sozen and his friends back.
"Dangit" Aiko said
The dragon shot fireballs that stopped them to getting near the dragon.
"I cant shoot his eye from this side!" Sozen said "I can only shoot his.... mouth!!" Sozen had an idea
"You have an idea?" asked Celes
"Tranzarus, you can do a powerful move right?" asked Sozen
"Yeah, but I'll need time to charge it" she said
"Great" Sozen said "All of you distract the dragon and before the time comes make sure that his mouth is open!" he said
"Yes!" all of them ran but Sozen stopped Sho holding Silver as a sword.
"Sho and Silver, I'll need you two to defend us while Tranzarus is charging the attack." Sozen said
Sho nodded.
"Tranzarus! How much time?" Sozen said
"5 minutes!" she said
Aiko was avoiding the dragon's fireballs while shooting arrows.
Celes was trying to slash the dragon's feet while Ume was casting spells to protect Celes.
Sho and Silver were cutting incoming debris to protect Sozen and Tranzarus.
"2 minutes!" Tranzarus shouted
Suddenly some flying monsters appeared.
"Monsters!?" Aiko said
"There's something weird about them.." Ume said
Ume was right, those type of monsters were usually calm. But this ones were very aggressive and had a strange symbol on their chest.
"That symbol... it's from one of the Demon king's servants!!!" Celes said
What!?" Sozen said "so it was he or she who woke the dragon up!"
"Probably, maybe to kill us" Celes said
"1 minute!" Tranzarus shouted.
The monsters dived in to attack Sozen and Tranzarus.
"Sho!" Sozen shouted
Sho cut through them, then gave a thumbs up to Sozen.
While everyone was dealing with the dragon and the monsters.
"20 seconds left!" Tranzarus shouted.
Sozen positioned the gun to hit the dragon's mouth.
"Its all up to you guys" Sozen said
The dragon's mouth was closed.
"Its closed!" Aiko shouted
"I know!" Celes said
"Maybe we can force it!" Ume suggested
"But how?!" asked Celes
"We must make him attack us!" Ume said and then casted [Explosion] on the dragon.
"I see" Celes used her secret technique [Knight's Valor] that made a scar on the dragon's feet.
"My turn!" Aiko used [Meteor Shot] and her arrow hit the dragon's other eye and did a lot of damage.
The dragon, in pain, released a massive fireball out of his mouth.
"3" counted down Tranzarus
The fireball was getting close to Sozen
"2" she said
The fireball was almost reaching Sozen
"1" she said
The fireball was just a few meters from them.
"Shoot!!" Tranzarus shouted.
Sozen shot, the powerful attack pierced through the fireball and hit the dragon exploding him and killing it instantly.
"W-we did it" Aiko said
"Y-yeah" Celes said
Scales were raining, bits of meat as well.
"Wait, where's Sozen?" asked Aiko
"A-and Sho!" said Ume
"And Tranzarus and Silver!" said Celes
There was a bit of debris moving.
"Huh?" said Ume confused.
A hand popped up!
"There's someone!" Aiko said
They helped him out, it was Sho and Silver.
"Sho!" Celes hugged him.
"Sho! Where's Sozen?" asked Aiko worried
Sho looked around, then pointed some debris.
They ran to it, and cleared the debris.
"Sozen!" Aiko shouted "where are you?!" she asked
Two hand popped up.
They helped them out, it was Sozen and Tranzarus.
"Are you okay??" asked Ume
"I've seen better days" said Sozen stretching. "What happened to the dragon?" He asked
"It got totally obliterated" said Aiko
Sozen sighed of relief. "That's great" he said
"Hey! Lets go celebrate!" Tranzarus suggested.
"Yeah" Sho said
They all were walking to the town except Sozen.
"Sozen?" asked confused Aiko
"I have to get something" Sozen said
He went back to the debris and picked up a small notebook, and then ran back to the others.
"Hey Sozen, why are you late?" asked Celes
"Oh well I went to pick up- *ugh*" Sozen looked down, a blade had pierced him from behind.
"Sozen!" They shouted
The blade was pulled off and Sozen fell to the ground, but with no injury?
The one who pierced Sozen with the blade was..
"The 9th Demon King's Servant, Red Poison" Celes said.
She laughed. "Wow, looks like you did your research princess" she said
"W-what did you do to Sozen!" Aiko shouted
"Oh relax, he's just sleeping" she said
"S-sleeping" Aiko said
"Sleeping eternally!" Red laughed
"E-eternally?" said Tranzarus
"Yeah that's right, now... see ya!" Red disappeared before the others had the chance to do something.
Back at the mansion.
Sozen was laying down on a bed, still sleeping.
"What do we do?" asked Aiko.
"I dont know!!" Celes said "it must have to do something with that sword of her!!" she said
"But how will we retrieve it?" asked Ume
"We will go to Red's lair" Sho said
"Huh!? Are you crazy!?" Silver said "We will die!!"
"Yeah you're right..." Sho said shaking, but with confident. "But he's our friend, he would risk his life to save us"
"He's right, Sozen risked his life to save me and Sho" Aiko said remembering when Sozen protected them from Krau.
"Sozen, was the one who trained us aswell" Ume said remembering when Sozen helped them train.
"He's the one who helped me be the person that I am now" Sho said while remembering Sozen helping others.
"Meow~" Shiro walked in the room a few minutes ago.
"Yeah, Sozen helped us all the time" Celes said remembering Sozen helping her to get closer to Sho.
"Y-yeah! What was I thinking!" Silver slapped herself.
"So you'll be going to her lair" Tranzarus said
"You wont be going Tranzarus?" asked Aiko
"I cant. I can't leave Sozen alone" she said "that was part of the rules."
"Okay" Aiko said
"Then..." Sho said with confident "Tomorrow we will go to the lair and we will retrieve that sword!!" he shouted
"Yes!" all of them shouted, except Sozen and Tranzarus.
The next day.
Celes had asked his father to prepare an army to accompany them.
All of them were ready, they were at the front door of the mansion
"We leave Sozen on your hands" Aiko said
"Of course" Tranzarus said "but let me ask you something"
Tranzarus whispered something to her that made Aiko blush and screamed at her.
"Just joking" Tranzarus teased
"That's not funny" Aiko said and walked away
"Good luck!" Tranzarus shouted while waving goodbye.
Aiko hopped on her horse.
"What did she ask you?" asked Celes
Aiko blushed "o-oh nothing" and they rode off.
While they were riding Aiko couldnt stop thinking about what Tranzarus had asked.
Before they left..
"Let me ask you something" said Tranzarus
She got closer to her ear."Do you love Sozen?" Tranzarus whispered
Aiko blushed "O-of course not!" Aiko shouted.
"Oookay" Tranzarus said "Just asking"
Back with Aiko
"Do I really love him? I mean he's cute an all-"
"Hey Aiko" Celes said
"Huh!? W-what is it Celes?" she asked
"You're food is going to get cold" Celes said
"O-oh yeah" she started eating again.
"I wonder what she was thinking about" Celes asked herself
