Chapter Thirteen:

"Should I buy this?" Angelica comes out of an changing room in a beautiful green dress that really shows off all of her curves.

"Yeah, it's really cute." I tell her and she starts annoyingly whining like a child.

"I'm looking for hot, not cute." She stomps towards a mirror, trying to find something she likes about herself in the dress but it doesn't seem like she likes anything. Angelica is gorgeous. She could wear a trash bag and she would still be gorgeous and she really doesn't know how gorgeous she really is. In her eyes she looks like a toad but to everyone else, she is the exact example of a perfect human being. She has a date tonight and she has been obsessively talking about it all week. Shopping should not take this long, we've been at this mall for over four hours and she hasn't gotten a single thing, unlike me that has bought the whole mall. My feet are starting to get sore from walking for so long, that is probably my fault since I decided to wear heels to the mall.

She continues to whine and tries to suck in her stomach so she looks slimmer... but I don't think that is needed.

"I feel fat." Are the words she always tells me but she isn't fat at all... she just has shape. I wish I could give her my eyes for one day so she can see what I see.

"I wish I could dress like you and still look hot." She points to my cheetah print corset top and denim jeans,

"Why don't you? You're only going to the movies." She laughs at me like I said something so crazy,

"Yeah, okay Maddie. You of all people should know the first date outfit is the most important." No I wouldn't really. Gabriel took me on a "date" without my knowledge before hand, it was a surprise and I'm glad he did so I didn't overthink things.

"Angelica, buy the dress. You look great." I insure her and she whines some more in defeat,

"Fine." She says like I made her do it.

She goes back into the change room and comes out minutes later in the clothes she came in. We finally after HOURS make it to checkout that isn't for me and she even gets a pair of heart shaped earrings to go with the dress. Grabbing her arm as we leave the store,  I pull her out of the mall before she can decide to go back. She complains some more as we walk to the car but I don't allow her to change her mind about the outfit she chose. 

We drive to a restaurant in town that she has been telling me about since we met saying that I have to try it,  apparently they have the best burgers ever that is highly debatable since she has never had in-n-out before. 

"Didn't I tell you that these are the best?!" She asks as I take a bite out of the burger.

"Maybe not the best but they are pretty fucking good." I say, taking another bite from the meaty burger.

"Whatever... city food cant compare to Frank's food."

"You're only saying that because you've never been to the city." I point out. City food is actually the best. I miss going out to eat with my old friend or going to Venice Beach. God what I would do to be back there right now.

"Hi, are you Madeline Flores?" A male voice asks me. I wake up from my daydream and see Gabriel standing right at the end of the booth. Liam and Sirena are right behind them, looking annoyed as ever and I ignore their presence just like they ignore mine.

I smile at Gabriel and feel my eyes widen,

"What are you doing here?" I ask him. He bends down to give me a kiss.

"What am I doing here? I've been going to Frank's for years. What are YOU doing here?"

"I took her here." Angelica chimes in. I know she feels  excluded sometimes when me and Gabriel talk and hang out, especially recently but she's the one who says he isn't a friend.

"Good for you. What did you do today?" He gives Angelica almost none of his attention,

"We went shopping."

"Holy, you guys act like you haven't seen each other in years! Gabriel, hurry up and get us a booth so I can watch Naruto." Liam complains interrupting our conversation,

"I agree with the dumbass, like we get it your in love." Red haired bitch adds. I turn away from Gabriel and feel my cheeks burning up in embarrassment but I don't let it show.

"Shut the fuck up or both of you are paying." He warns. Gabriel gives me another kiss,

"You're coming over after. I'll get your bags." He tells me.

"No, sorry. I'm busy."

"Yeah okay, see you when your done." He walks away, not allowing me to say another word... I swear one day I will actually be busy and he wont believe me. As we finish up eating, I remember Sirena's comment... no were not there yet, right? Obviously not, a month ago Gabriel couldn't stand me. Well that's not exactly true but he was very cold towards me so I doubt he will feel that way any time soon and as for me... I love spending time with him. It's actually crazy how I feel just by seeing him though. It's like my whole world stops when I see his face and I hate that, I hate that I'm utterly consumed by him.
