Chapter 29 : I Knew

In Lyte's and Lisa's room a few minutes ago.

"So we tell her that we were just trying to pull a prank on her? But how do we explain the whole removing my panties stuff and the rest?"

"We just told her it got a little out of hand but it was just meant to be a silly prank. Things were not supposed to go further than you teasing me. Plus, we are at the peak of our hormones, it's normal to act out of place like that, right?"

"I guess you're right. But is that believable enough for her? You know how she is. She'll doubt,"

"I bet she'll understand, I hope. I mean that's our best option right now. I don't see any other solution, to be honest,"

"Perhaps you're right. Fine, we'll just go with that,"

"Great. That's settled. Let's go sort this out right now so dinner will not be weird,"

"Okay,"

In Snow's room.

"So, in conclusion, me and Lisa were just pulling a prank on you and it went a little out of hand. Nothing else was going on, right Lisa?" Lyte said as he nudged Lisa with his elbow and scratched his head that was not even itchy. Lisa responded by just chuckling awkwardly and nodding her head frantically.

Snow looked at the two sitting on the fluffy couch in her room as she sat on her bed, facing them with her arms crossed and her face was etched with the expression that said she was not buying any of it. She knew they were just lying and decided to question them further about the situation a moment ago in their room to see if they would slip up and finally admit to the truth, though she highly doubted it.

"I see. That is kind of weird,"

"W-what's weird?" Lyte asked with a stutter while Lisa had a worried smile frozen on her face.

"Well. I remember I visited your room unplanned. How did you know I was going to enter your room before dinner time? Or did we agree to meet up and I have forgotten all about it?"

"Oh, come on now. We did plan this, remember Snow? You said you would come to our room and chat a little before we leave for dinner,"

"And you promised you will give me an explanation about the whole Tiny thing when you do," Lisa interrupted. She was still curious about what made Tiny jolted back in fear when Snow had it in shackles and glared at it.

"Y-yeah, I remember that,"

"I see. Then I guess I should say well played. You two got me. But please refrain from doing so again unless it is the 1st of April. Only then will you have an excuse to pull such a horrid prank. I had to pour bleach into my eyes to stop the pain I felt and to stop myself from gouging them out,"

Snow knew as clear as day that they did not arrange a meeting before heading out but she decided to just leave it. If it could help diminish the weird atmosphere around them, especially since they would be with each other for some time, she would take it. Snow could see the two's shoulders relaxed a little as they thought she had bought their lie. Tiny sighs of relief escaped from their mouths before they realised. It was at that moment, they knew, they had blown their lies.

"What was with the sighs of relief? It seemed as if a heavy burden had lifted off your shoulders. Care to share it with me?"

"Oh, uh. It's nothing. Really, it's nothing. We were just relieved that you believed us, Snow. We thought for sure you would think we were lying to you. Which we aren't,"

"Yes, yes, yes. That's it. We were just worried that you would think what we told was a lie, which it completely wasn't,"

"*sighs* You know what, I cannot stand to see this anymore. I will be honest with you right now, Lyte, Lisa. I can read unshielded minds like yours as easy as I can read a children's book. But even without that ability, your lying skills are terrible. I could have gotten a better lie from a child,"

A long pause accompanied by the sound of cracking. It was Lyte and Lisa who had turned to stone by Snow's statement and were crumbling bits by bits. All they felt at the moment was dread. Snow just watched with amusement as they let her words sunk in. Then suddenly, a light bulb appeared on Lisa's head as she thought she solved the problem.

"Wait a second. You are just bluffing, aren't you? This is a way to get us back for pranking you. That's good, you almost got me. But I'm smarter than that, reapress," Lisa said confidently.

Snow just sat there silently and raise one of her eyebrows, showing a 'What do you think?' look. Lisa started to sweat as she realised lying to Snow was not even an option in the first place. She somehow knew how a person's mind works better than a psychiatrist. She knew how to get answers out of people and plus the advantage of her magic abilities, she could know the secrets of the world if she wanted to. All the while, Lyte just sat there silently praying there was an opportunity to make up the perfect excuse.

"It is fine. I understand that you two are still virgins and wished to explore something new in life. Just please be more aware of your surroundings before attempting that again. I mean, come on. I was sitting right there,"

"Wait, how did you know we're still virgins?" Lyte was confused and interested in how Snow could know. His nature to be easily distracted made his fear all forgotten. It seemed this girl he met knew a lot of things he dared say even the God's were unaware of.

"Virgins smell different than those who had been tainted. That is all I can say about it. I learnt it from a wolf hybrid friend,"

"Well, thanks for the privacy!" Lisa said as she covered her chest as if she was about to be sexually assaulted.

"Whatever you say. Well, would you look at the time. It is already 7:13 pm. Let us go have dinner,"

The three walked out of the hotel and to a famous restaurant nearby - Lé Soleil.
