Chapter 127 : Childhood Trauma

Hoben was 15 years old at the time. He and his family - two parents and 3 younger siblings - lived together in a small cabin. It was his mother's idea since she loved nature and wanted their lives to be modest and surrounded by life. Hoben was more of a tech person but he went along with his mother and did not try to get her to change her taste to suit his because he loved his mother so much. It was a fairytale life and he would not have changed it for anything in the world. A life where his hair was still dark red in colour instead of the grey it was now.

It was a lovely evening and everything was swell. Hoben was taking care of his younger siblings in the children's room on the second floor as the parents were busy with various house chores. His mother was making them lunch while his father was fixing the piping problem in the basement. All of them were so absorbed into what they were doing. Maybe that was why none of them noticed the fire until it was too late.
