Cyllage City Gym

After shrinking 42 pokeballs in my duffle bag, I decided that I spent enough time in Camphrier, and decided that it was time to move on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After 4 days of constant walking and training, I finally made it to Cyllage city. It had a beautiful beach crowded with laughing families and friends. The city was also surrounded by many small mountains, and the houses had a somewhat colourful modern look to them. Instead of exploring the city, I went straight to the pokemon center to deposit all my Munchlaxes in the pokemon PC since I didn't have enough money to feed them all...yet. The cool thing about the pokemon PC is that you use your trainer ID to access your storage systems so that your pokemon and items don't get stolen. However, if someone steals your trainer ID, that's another story.

After depositing my Munchlaxes and healing my pokemon, I went straight to the gym for my 2nd gym badge battle. The gym wasn't any different from the anime, the entrance of the gym was from a mountain that had the gym symbol on it. When I entered, I was greeted by a man who asked for my trainer ID, and after I showed him it, he told me to wait a few minutes for Brant, who is the gym leader.

After a few minutes, I was greeted by a guy who looks like the exact copy of Grant, the canon gym leader in 20 years. "Hello there, I'm Brant the gym leader of Cyllage city, if you want to battle me stand at that white square". I moved a few steps forward and Brant quickly back stepped to his own square. Brant threw out a pokeball, and suddenly the ground shook and dust appeared. As the dust settled, a huge rock monster could be seen and it let out a huge roar "ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRR". It was an Onix! I already knew Grant would use a Onix, so I already knew what pokemon I was going to use "Go Froakie!"

Froakie was now level 25, and the reason why he didn't evolve was because I gave him a bracelet with an everstone on it, so that his energy reserves would get bigger and stronger. The Onix was level 30, which put my Froakie at a disadvantage however Froakie is a water type, and I wanted him to break his limits in this fight because the right mindset is very useful in battles. The man who greeted me when I walked in moved outside the white rectangle and put his hands up "Brant the gym leader from Cyllage city against Zero Two from Evangelion town, battle begin!

Brant who seemed to be eager for a battle took command and shouted "Onix use rock throw!". A bunch of rocks appear on the ceiling and start raining down on Froakie's position.

"Froakie use your cotton to dodge!". Froakie pulls a piece of the cotton-like substance from his neck and throws it beneath him which propels him forward towards Onix. A cool thing about Froakie's cotton substance around his neck is that it acts like Mineta's quirk from MHA. It would be sticky for anyone else, but for Froakie, it's only bouncy.

As Froakie is propelled towards Onix, it takes Brant a second to realize what just happened. Quickly he shouts "Onix use iron head" as he sees that Froakie is going towards Onix. "Froakie use your cotton to bounce of Onix's head and use waterpulse". As Onix's head is going towards Froakie, Froakie throws his cotton on the eye of Onix which blinds one of it's eyes, and bounces off the cotton, does a backflip and spits out a powerful waterpulse.

The Onix is sent back by about a meter and is breathing heavily, it tries to swing it's head to remove the cotton on it's eye, but the cotton doesn't even budge.

Brand suddenly shouts "Onix calm down and use dig". Onix starts burrowing underground, and not missing a moment, I shout "Froakie use your cotton to stick Onix!".

Froakie throws multiple wads of his cotton substance which sticks Onix to the top of the hole he made. Onix tries to wiggle out but to no avail, and I quickly shout "Froakie finish him, use water pulse full power!".

Froakie uses a much stronger water pulse tham before, towards Onix's tail. Onix continually wiggles trying to get out but to no avail. After Froakie continually shot at Onix with his water pulse, Onix eventually stopped moving. "ONIX" Brant shouted.

The referee goes to check on Onix and after a couple seconds the referee announces "Onix is no longer able to battle, Froakie wins!". Froakie then jumps towards me with a huge smile on his face "Fro Fro!!!!". I give him a quick head pat and say "Good job Froakie, return". I quickly checked Froakie's stats before I returned him to his pokeball, and saw that he leveled up to level 28.

Brant looking at me, returns his Onix and then says "Wow, I have never seen such a creative strategy, but with my next pokemon, don't think it'll be easy to defeat me". I nod, and he sends out a tyrunt while I send out my chespin. Tyrunt was level 31 while my Chespin was level 29. I worked a bit harder on training Chespin since his grass element was more complex than Froakie's water element. I wanted my chespin to be able to use wood release (mokuton) like Hashirama from Naruto, since the grass element was related to nature. I managed to train chespin to be able to control his grass energy to form wood. After that I made sure he could control the wood properly, and so I basically created a new set of moves.

Anyways back to the present. The referee says "Chespin vs tyrunt, battle begin". Before Brant even has a chance to speak out a order, I quickly say "Chespin use root". Brant never hearing about that moves goes "Huh??". Suddenly, medium sized wood roots break through the ground and wrap around Tyrunt legs, head and body. Without some momentum, Tyrunt is unable to break free of the wood roots. I based this move off ingraine, but instead of some puny roots, Chespin can use much bigger ones.

Using the shock and awe of Brant, I quickly tell Chespin "Chespin continually use pin missile full power". Chespin releases a barrage of pin missiles that continually hit Tyrunts face and eyes. "Tyrunt come on get out of there" Brant shouts, but Tyrunt is unable to hear him due to the pain of the pin missiles. After 30 seconds of continuous barrages of pin missiles, Tyrunt faints.

I wait for the referee to announce the winner, but it looks like he was just as shocked as Brant. I return Chespin after giving him a high five, happy that he leveled up to level 31. After seeing that Brant is still in a state of shock, I walk around the arena, go towards him, and see that he has a pouch that has the gym symbol on it. I open the pouch and see a bunch of Cliff Badges, I take one, and put the pouch back on Brant's belt. Seeing that Brant still couldn't accept his complete annihilation, I gave him a quick pat on his shoulder and walk away. 'Holy shot, I think I killed that man, did I go overboard?....Nah".

I walk out the gym taking in the fresh air, and go towards the beach which currently shows a beautiful sunset. After a while of sight seeing, I go to the pokemon center to sleep.

The very next day, after preparing and buying everything I need for my travels. I leave the city and go into the rocky plains.

(A/N: Yes I didn't drop, I will never drop 😤. Anyways I hope you enjoyed, have a nice day!)
