Change in winds

"I think the locked library contains some information about the blue crystal and that is the reason it is so mysterious and well hidden. If my sacrifice can help the empire then I am willing to be sacrificed and will help you, but you have to promise me one thing, that my father will not face any implications", Resel said with a determined expression on her face.

Rune knew that it was almost impossible to save Mr. Rubin from the implication. After all if words get out about the locked library, then he would be the first one to be executed. For the first time, he was helpless and the only person who could help him was that man, but to ask for his help would be a humiliation to him. He swallowed his anger then weakly nodded his head in acknowledgment.

He made up his mind to find this locked library but before this, he needs to make sure that Resel is safe and wouldn't be implicated.

"Don't worry Mr. Rubin will be safe and I will make sure to counter this curse but for that, you need to come with me. Can you?", he hesitatingly asked her.

Resel was shocked when she heard him.

She thought that her ears were playing tricks on her, "Did this man suggest to help me?", she thought inside her mind, stared at him for some time.

After confirming that she heard him correct she fell into a dilemma. "I have never left my father's side and I don't think he would ever allow me to leave this library", she said helplessly.

"Don't worry, I have a plan, but will you follow me?" he asked smilingly.

Resel fell on a daze. Why did this statement seem so ambiguous she thought to herself?

She blushed and then nodded her head acknowledging it.

"Okay, let's leave, it's almost time for that guards to return. We should hurry up otherwise it would be difficult", Rune said.

Resel stood up to leave and then she extinguished the candle lamps followed by Rune.

Halfway the guard came back, and it made Resel scared.

Rune hugged her and covered her with his black cloak,"Shhh don't move or speak. Just hold me tightly and move with me then we both will not be discovered. "

Although Resel was reluctant to hold Rune she still clung to him and followed him with a pout on her face.

In the darkness, Rune wore a faint smile on his face and merged in the darkness, escorting Resel to her room.

He bid farewell to Resel and then went to his room to make up for lost sleep.

~~~~~~
The next morning Rune was already with his plan, waiting for Resel to come.
As soon as he saw her, he dragged her to a shady corner. "Today you just keep your mouth shut and act like a shy girl and only nod your head when I ask you."
"okay"
"Act like we are close acquaintances," Rune told Resel in a hushed voice.
Resel became exasperated. She didn't grasp what he was saying, but she nodded.
Rune patted her head and signaled for her to go back. She mindlessly went back, deep in her thoughts about the"
'What type of mighty plan would work on her illiberal father?'
She was cleaning the shelves when she heard her father calling her. "Resel darling, can you come here for a moment?" Mr. Rubin called her.
'Yes, father'. She came close to her father and bowed her head in respect.
"Do you know him?"Mr. Rubin pointed toward a man.
Resel knew who the man was and thus nodded her head in acknowledgment.
"Oh, my! So you know him. Well, he told me he observed you here for more than a week and is impressed by your knowledge and hard work and it's such a coincidence that he needs your help so he asked me whether you can accompany him for a month to help him with his research. After all, you yourself are very educated and intelligent. Well, to be honest, I don't want you to leave me but this man is from the Head council research department and also has the authority to ask for cooperation from any citizen in the whole empire so I can't decline it. I also hope that you can be helpful to the empire so pack your bags. You will leave with him in the evening today".
" Hurry" Mr. Rubin ordered Resel.
Resel was shocked beyond the limit.
She knew very well about her father's personality and to even think he will send her out of this library was like a dream, but now he was sending her with a strange man, who he knows nothing about.
She looked toward Rune in amazement and gave him three claps in her mind.
She soon composed herself and replied in an even tone, "but rather, how can I be of any help to this mister?"
"Nonsense you are so intelligent and all the knowledge that has been imparted to you will go into the drain if you won't help someone. Shoo now go back and pack your bags" With that Mr. Rubin chased away Resel.
"Mister, she is my only daughter and I hope she will be safe with you",, Mr. Rubin said earnestly. The worry was clear in his eyes.
Rune knew that there was something more to Resel that met the eyes, but it was yet to be figured out.
Soon the evening came, and it was time for Mr. Rubin to bid goodbye to his beloved daughter.
A simple but strong carriage and Rune were already waiting for them. Mr. Rubin came holding luggage of Resel and placed it inside the carriage.
Resel too came soon."Father, I will be back soon"
Resel said with teary eyes. It was not acting, she was sad as It was the first time she was leaving his side."
"Silly girl, no need to cry. Just help this mister and come back to your father as soon as you can".
"Okay," Mr. Rubin said to her while concealing his sadness.
His hands which were resting behind his back were tightly clenched into a fist. If he could, then he would never allow someone to take his daughter away from him. Alas, his little bird has grown up and as much as he hates it, he had to admit that she needs to fend for herself. Thus, he steeled his heart.
Resel was the first one to enter inside the carriage followed by the Rune. The carriage left in an instant, but Mr. Rubin stood there for a long time even when the carriage disappeared.
'Sigh!
"Winds are changing their course in the Reinstle empire" Mr. Rubin muttered under his breath.
