Maid and Master -2

Days passed, but Ciel was still not used to seeing Arthur as the almighty Lord of the Reinstal empire.

"Stop glaring at me. It's rude to glare at anyone and an offense to do so to the Lord. Want me to gauge your eyes?" Arthur said when he noticed that at some point in time, she was lost in her thoughts.

As soon as she heard his mean comments, Ciel woke up from her daze, and her expressions soured. However, she humbly apologizes. "I apologize for my rudeness Lord."

Arthur chuckled. "It will be a waste of beauty if I order them to gauge your eyes. Bring me a tea, and let's call it even. "

Even my ass!

Ciel wanted to say this on his face but did not utter those profanities.

"Yes, my lord" She bowed and left.

After she left, Arthur again got busted with his work.

The truth was that Arthur had a lot on his plate. It seems like the paperwork he has never finished, no matter how hard he works. Every day his study table is occupied by giant stacks of papers that were urgent.

There was a whole new stack on the other table which needed to be reconsidered by him. It feels like Council was dumping all their workload on him. Despite everything, Arthur worked diligently. He would complain here and there sometimes, but in the end, he was an efficient Lord. No wonder Reinstel has been prospering in his lordship.

Knock Knock!

Arthur didn't even lift his head as he replied.

Ciel came inside holding a tray. She skillfully added sugar to the tea and put the cup on the table. "Lord, your tea is here."

When the aroma of the tea assaulted his nose, Arthur stopped working and took a break, but when he noticed there was only one cup, he furrowed. He stood up from his seat and went for the cupboard.

"Do you need anything? I can get it for you, my Lord," Ciel said after she saw him rummaging inside the cupboard.

A sarcastic smirk graced his lips. "Aren't you quite skillful? You perform the maid role so diligently and efficiently that sometimes I forget that you are not an actual maid.

He was pretty rude, and Ciel didn't like it.

She made a face behind him as she replied, "Suit yourself then."

Ha!

What a proud cat!

Arthur returned to his seat with a big mug. He quickly emptied half of the tea in that mug and gestured to Ciel to take it.

Ciel was perplexed but took it.

Arthur was happy. He sipped his tea but noticed that Ciel wasn't doing so.

"What happened? Why are you not drinking the tea?" He asked glumly.

"…"

"…"

"What?"

"Is this for me?" Ciel asked in surprise.

Arthur looked at her as if he was looking like an idiot. The Lord of Reinstel himself went and brought a mug for her even gave her tea, but this dumb girl missed the hint.

"Of course. Drinking tea alone is so boring."

"It is, but I can't drink tea in front of his majesty. It would be considered a sin."

"…"

"Are you serious? You are not even a maid in the first place, so why does it matter?"

His words made sense to her. After emptying her worries, she quickly came out of her maid's character as she took a seat opposite Arthur. She cheerfully held her mug and started drinking her tea.

Arthur stifled his laugh when he noticed how childish she acted.

They both didn't say anything and quietly slipped their tea. Arthur again busied himself with his council work while Ciel was bored to death. She wanted to meet her sister, but she was currently on duty, so this was not possible. Arthur was quiet and didn't give her any orders, so she was even more bored.

She started to feel drowsy at god knows when she sprawled on Arthur's study table and slept soundly.

Arthur noticed that she was fast asleep on his table.

He stood up and went towards her. "Such an idiot; sleeping during work hours. What should be an appropriate punishment for you?" He whispered in her ear.

However, there was no response from her.

Arthur grinned.

He softly picked her like a princess style and laid on the couch. He found a blanket in one of the drawers and carefully tucked her in it. Satisfied with it, he went back to his study.

These days, even if she doesn't say it out loud, Arthur could see the worry in her eyes. Given that both of them were twins, It was obvious that she missed Camy. She missed her every given second. It was hard and even exhausting for Ciel.

As Arthur was pondering over this, he again heard a knock on the door. His first reaction was to see whether Ciel was disturbed from her sleep or not. When he noticed she didn't wake up, she exhaled a sigh.

'A pig you are.'

"Enter," He replied softly.

The butler came inside and soon noticed Ciel sleeping on the couch. He felt it was not proper for a maid to rest in the presence of his master, so he wanted to wake up, but before he could do so, Arthur warned him.

"Let her be."

The butler stiffened. He had been serving Arthur since he was a child and was very well familiar with his temperament. Arthur never liked disrespectful people. He would severely punish maids and servants who didn't perform their duty perfectly, but what happened today?

He was skeptical about it but was smart enough to draw lines.

Arthur waited for him to speak.

"Sir, the Council has summoned you regarding the recent murder cases. They want you to be present in the afternoon session."

"Okay, you may leave."

"Yes, my lord" The butler respectfully bowed and left.
