Sparkle

After days of wondering if he had ever cared about her, he made the first step in contacting her. Wei Wei grabbed with her trembling hands the phone and swiped the answer key.

"Hello?..."

"Wei Wei... it's me..." His voice was heard from the other end. He paused and then continued. "How are you?" He asked.

The girl furrowed her brows even further when she heard those words, how dares he asks only now. She remained silent, she didn't know how to respond to his question.

Pei Lightian, understood how she must have felt these days and didn't probe any further.

"Can I see you?" He asked.

His question took Wei Wei by surprise, he wanted to see her? How come.

"What for?" Asked the girl to his question.

"To talk with you about what happened. I never intended to leave the situation like this, I was looking for a solution!" Said the man in one breath.

After hearing his words, Wei Wei instantly felt reinvigorated. He wasn't trying to forget about her, he was looking for a solution, a solution for them to be together. A bright sparkle lit her dull eyes, her long lost smile had resurfaced on her lips and her heart started beating again.

"When do you want to meet?" Asked Wei Wei full of eagerness.

"Are you free today?"

"I am free right now!" Replied Wei Wei enthusiastically.

"Then can you meet me at Lake Thao Resort in an hour?"

"See you shortly!". Replied the girl and hung up. She was going to meet her beau and discuss their future together. This type of event needed her to put a bit more effort into it. Wei Wei looked in the mirror and decided her appearance needed something extra today, so she pulled out her make-up and started applying it on her face. Then she strolled in her walk in wardrobe and chose a delicate, yet sophisticated dress and headed downstairs.

Her plan was to have her mother drive her to the psychologist clinic, then take a cab and go to the location Pei Lightian has given her.

When Wei Wei descended the stairs in her current attire, her mother was instantly shocked. Her daughter, her precious daughter had finally given a sign of recovery.

"Honey, you look gorgeous today. Are you ready?" Asked Lin Yan.

"Yes Mum" Replied the beautiful and delicate girl.

The mother-daughter pair got in the car and drove to their appointment. At the entrance Wei Wei stopped her Mum.

"Mum, can I go in alone today? Can you wait for me in the car?" Asked the girl in a pitiful tone. Lin Yan was reluctant, but seeing how her daughter was feeling better today, she relented and decided to give her some space.

"Fine, I will wait for you in the car!".

Hearing her mother's words, Wei Wei's heart skipped a beat.

"Thank you Mum!" She replied and hurried inside the building. She turned her head after a few steps and saw her mother heading back towards the car. The receptionist recognised her and asked.

"Miss Lu! Doctor Fu is... oh this?!" Wei Wei looked at the receptionist, but before she could finish her sentence, Wei Wei had already exited through the side entrance and jumped in a cab.

Twenty minutes later she arrived at Lake Thao Resort. She quickly paid the cab fare and headed inside the resort. At the reception the hostess took her name and guided her towards the guest that was waiting for her arrival.

Wei Wei's heart felt like it was about to explode from all the contentment that had built up inside, since she had spoken with him just an hour ago... it was plenty of time for her, to imagine various scenarios about how they will end up together.

When she entered the resort's restaurant, her eyes instantly found his, but next to him another pair of eyes was looking at her. He wasn't alone.
