The Right of Life

At Hebei Garden Estate, Wei Wei was in her bed in her room. She spent most of her time sleeping, the past few days. She was abandoned by any will to live and the baby inside her belly, was draining her of any energy she had left.

What sins had she committed in this short life of hers to be 'gifted' with such a burden. Was the love she carried for an older man the sin itself, but she thought love knows no age, no gender and no colour. Why is her love impossible? She wasn't afraid to fall in love with him, it is not her fault. Its the fault of this country with its wrong principles and mentality.

What if she chooses to love him till her death bed, what is wrong with that... why do people must have a say in who her heart should desire.

What if she chooses to be a single mother, what kind of sin is that to bring a new life into the world. Children are innocent and they should never suffer because of their parents fault. Her child has the right of life, has the right to be born.

The girl was having a lot of thoughts and worries lately, her situation wasn't a simple one. Her phone was ringing for a few good minutes, but she wasn't in any mood to answer. A text notification was sent shortly after the buzzing stopped. Her head was under her pillow and her duvet pulled over as well. She stretched her hand out from her pillow fort and reached for her phone on the nightstand.

It was a text from Chu Nan.

"Meet me in front of your house, I have something urgent to tell you!"

Wei Wei read his text and suddenly became alert. She threw some clothes that were nearby on her and ran outside the house. By the gate, a white Toyota was parked there for a while. Wei Wei looked around and headed towards the car. When she was about four feet away, the car door opened and a handsome young man stepped down.

His hazel eyes were full of worry and kindness towards this girl. A girl who would become his wife, if she was willing. He then proceeded in opening the passenger door for her and made sure she got safe inside.

"Let's go somewhere quiet to talk!" He said.

"Mn..." The girl approved.

After a half an hour drive, the pair reached in a quiet family orientated district of Beijing.

"I am taking you to a western waffle house in this area, as it is always quiet and they serve very good food and beverages. I assume you must miss this dish from the UK, this time of year...". The young man was trying to build up a casual conversation.

"Mn... yes!" Replied the girl. She actually didn't like waffles, they were too sweet, but she didn't had the heart to tell the man the truth. Brother Tian knew all her favourite sweets and every time she would see him, he would always keep some in his pockets for her to indulge. She missed him, she missed him dearly.

The pair entered the waffle house and found a booth to sit and eat.

The man ordered the food and was now fretting on how to tell his fragile girl the news he had. The situation was already complicated as it was, but yesterday, his distant female cousin has created a whole new twist and the circumstances would now be changed completely.

After a few minutes of silence the girls was becoming impatient.

"So... what is it that you have to tell me?" She finally asked.

The young man had no choice, he had to blurt out the truth sooner rather than later, as the situation will turn ugly in the afternoon.

"My Aunt and Uncle found out about your pregnancy with my cousin, they want to keep the baby and will come this evening to discuss it with your parents!" Blurted the man in one breath.
