True Colours

This afternoon Lin Yan was in the greenhouse, preparing her plants for winter. Although she looked calmed and composed on the outside, a terrifying storm was happening on the inside. Her family was stepping on a landslide and she feared for her children's future. Her husband, at the moment, was on the front line of the war. On one side he was trying to work out the tangled issues of the company in behalf of his missing son, while on the other, he was trying to pacify his relatives and Grandfather in regards with the re-evaluation of the family head.

Lin Yan was lost in her thoughts, when her assistant came in.

"Madam!" He called.

The gracious woman, with rubber gloves on her hands, had a sombre expression on her face. It was paired with a domineering aura and a fierce attitude. You would think that Lu Ye Ze had taken after his father, but in fact his cold aura was a characteristic of his mother. She was calm, seeming unperturbed, standing there between the greenery and beautiful flowers. She was dressed in all black, her blazer being accessorised with a black diamond brooch and in her ears she had a pair of studs, in the same precious stone.

She turned to face the man, and looked at him waiting for his report.

"My investigation is complete!" Said the man handing a file to Lin Yan. The later, took the file from her assistant and opened it. She skimmed through it with raised eyebrows. So this girl, Ele, was a scheming old fox after all.

Besides her elopement with that French investor, she had a scandal with a middle age, German Film Producer when she was 17 years old. "Ha! And she was complaining about Lu Ye Ze's age, that man was seven years older than my son!" Said the woman.

"Madam, on my trip to Germany another piece of information has come to my ears!" Said her assistant.

"Is that so... Let's hear it then!"

The assistant cleared his throat and commenced the report. "From reliable sources, it has come to my attention, that the Müller family business has filed for bankruptcy two months ago. The eldest son of Stefan Müller is being accused of tax evasion and he is currently arrested and held in custody by the German State. The family owns a hefty amount of debt to the German state and its business partners. It is said that Stefan Müller is being hunted by a lot of debt collectors back in Europe!"

After hearing her assistant's words Lin Yan was rendered speechless. So these were the Müllers true colours. If it wasn't for that mysterious girl that appeared out of no where, now her son would have been married into this lecher family.

A maid entered the greenhouse shortly after.

"Madam Lin, Mr. Müller and his family are in the reception requesting to speak with you", Announced the maid.

"Eh!!!" Exclaimed Lin Yan. "Speaking about the wolf and the wolf its at your door step!" Continued the woman. "You may go!" She hand signalled her assistant, she closed the report file in her hands and then followed the Maid to the main reception room of Hebei Gardens Estate.

Inside the room, the mother daughter pair were seating next to each other on the sofa. Ele was wearing a princess dress, way too thin for the current season, paired with a smug smile and a proud attitude. Her mother resembled her daughter's character from head to toe.

Her father was sitting nonchalantly on the armchair, displaying a presumably worrying expression.

Lin Yan looked at this spectacle of a family with contempt. As soon as she entered the room, Stefan Müller raised from his armchair and headed towards her, to help her take a seat in the chair opposite him.

His action rendered Lin Yan speechless. He behaved like this was his house and she was a 90 something old woman. How unscrupulous and what an ingrate, this man was. She kept quiet though and sat down in the armchair.
