The camera in the conference room showed the man who has bid above Cole. Either this guy was bored, and wanted to spend money, or he was willing to make Cole waist money. Either way Cole wasn't losing, he let her go once, then he let her break into his office and leave again. She wasn't slipping through his fingers this time. He would do whatever it took to win. Cole pulled his phone back out, and dialed the auction.
"Bid two million."
On stage the host got the phone. "Two million, going once."
"Three million."
The only people talking was the stranger, Cole, and the host. The stranger just bid three million dollars.
"Wow now this is a bid, do I hear four million, three point five. Anything, going once, going twice."
The stranger thought he was funny, if Cole was going to stop there. "Five million." Cole had paid one million to end the bid quickly, he was starting to get annoyed.
"Ten million."
"Ten million wow folks your going to see it here tonight, ten million is more than anyone has paid."
"Fifteen million." Cole was on fire.
"I was wrong this is insane."
"Twenty million."
"Fifty million dollars."
Chase and Dylan knew not to get in Cole's way when he acted like this. Cole was so determined to win, that he could have spent every last dollar they had. Yet the other two didn't care.
Cole stared at the man who was bidding against him. Then looked at the girl in the cage. Did this stranger know her, or was he just someone willing to waist money? Cole put him to the test fifty million, it told people she was more than a mere object. Cole knew this guy would have to make a crazy bid if he really wanted her. Then it would show everyone that she was important to the stranger, was he willing to do that?
"Fifty million going once, going twice, sold to the anonymous buyer." As soon as it was announced she was sold, the guy in the audience got up and left.
Cole knew that look because he stared at that
in the mirror once he made the wrong decision of letting her go. So who was this man, was there a connection between the two? Cole didn't have a lot of time for that. He had to collect her before anyone damaged her any further. Once Cole got back stage with Dylan, and Chase he wanted to kill Oliver. Cole had heard of Chase's experience with him, and it seemed fit.
OLIVER!!!!!!!
Most people were scared of Chase when he wanted to kill, but believe me when I tell you Cole was worse. Anger clouded his eyes, he was blood thirsty.
"What is it Cole here to collect your-"
Oliver didn't get to finish when he was held up against a wall being choked. Oliver's guards went to interfere, but Chase got to them first, promising to kill them all if they made a move.
"What the hell you kidnapped her, why?"
"I did no such thing. Someone else acquired her and handed her over to me."
"Why, and the next thing that comes out of your mouth must be the truth, or so help me God I will end you." Cole had enough and was ready to end Oliver.
"OKAY, okay buddy all I know is some guy came up to me, and told me a fascinating tale. A young girl in the sights of the three mafia alpha's, living on the wrong side of town. He told me he could acquire her, and give her to me."
"And you took the deal instead of telling me?" The grip around Oliver's neck only got tighter, as the blood started to trail down Oliver's neck. He would have killed Oliver nice and slow, but Dylan pulled him back, and turned him to face Dylan.
"Cole stop, stop what about the girl?"
"She will be safer when he's dead." Shoving Dylan out of his way.
"She is in their hands if you kill him what do you think will happen to her?"
Cole wasn't listening of course he wasn't. They all got like this, and nothing would satisfy this urge except killing the person who put them there. Dylan hoped Cole's feelings for the mystery girl was stronger, Dylan slapped Cole. Preparing for Cole to attack him, but Cole just stopped, he slowed his breathing, and turned to Oliver.
"I swear on everything that's holy if you touch her again you will lose your hands. If you look at her you will lose your eyes. You can imagine the rest, do you fucking understand me?"
Oliver holding his bloody throat nodded, and ran away.
"Let's get our girl." Tucking his hands into his pockets Cole walked into the back like nothing happened.
Once they got to the back they all saw her in the cage bruised, but the torn cloths she was wearing were gone. They had changed her into some new cloths. Cole regretted letting Oliver go chances were Oliver undressed her, and saw her. The idea made Cole go back into the state he was just in, but the girl whined and shifted in the cage. She was hurting, grabbing the key from Dylan, Cole unlocked the cage. Climbing inside, but smacked his back on the bars growling. He wrapped her arms around him and carried their unconscious thief home.
