The start

The sun was shining through the skies as it gives warmth in this windy day during autumn. A man was sitting on the couch with his eyes closed peacefully sleeping even in that bad posture. Victon opened his eyes as the sun rays hit his handsome face. He grunted as he rubbed his eyes and sore neck. It was near noon when he woke up, Victon stood up from the couch and stretched his arms and legs.

Going to the bathroom which was connected to his bedroom, Victon went to change into another set of clothes and freshen up. He went down for breakfast as he was greeted with faces full of anticipation. "Good morning mother, good morning father."

"Good morning Victon" the couple said simultaneously.

The family ate breakfast in silence when Desmond asked, "so... are we going to address the elephant in the room?"

"You bought a pet elephant?" Hendery asked.

"No! Stupid! I meant about the stuff that happened last night, Victon's girl!" Desmond replied smacking his brother's head.

The servants on the side: 'YOUNG MASTER VICTON HAS A GIRL?'

"Desmond, mind your manners please" his father said.

"Well, I mean if Victon thinks he can deal with this his own way, then so be it" the Duchess said wiping her mouth.

Victon was silent as all eyes were on him. He then opened his mouth to say, "it's a girl from a bakery called 'Vinnesia Bakes'."

Silence... no one moved after hearing what Victon had said. Seeing that no one was talking Victon continued, "I've known her before I went to war. I'm telling you this because I don't know how to court her. So I'm asking for your help mother."

Again... everyone was silent as they were shocked the young master of the Yvonne family was interested in a baker's daughter.

The Duchess was the first to open her mouth and ask, "is her personality good? Victon you know I consider your feelings of affections over the hierarchy of class. I don't care if she is a baker's daughter, but if you really have affections for her, then as a mother I will help you."

Truthfully, Victon was afraid that his family wouldn't give their blessings to him and Megan. Of course he knows that Megan and him are of different classes, but he didn't care. Even if his family had rejected Megan today for being of the lower class, he still would've pursued Megan.

"Thank you, mother" Victon said with a small smile.

"I agree with your mother. If she doesn't hurt you or the Dukedom in anyway, then I won't have any problems with her being your partner. As long as you are happy," his father added on.

"What's her name?" Desmond asked.

"Are you going to bother her?" Victon asked with warning glare.

"No! Well maybe-"

"We will just go and see her face that's all" Hendery chimed in saving Desmond from Victon's wrath.

Victon didn't answer his twin brothers and turned to his mother, "mother, today is her day off... how do I ask her out for a date?"

"AHH! A date? Hmmm I suggest you get some flowers for her when you go see her. But where will you go on your date at?" His mother asked.

"I'm thinking of the market."

"Well, that is a good start. It is a windy day, so I will teach you a trick that your father always does to me when he was courting me HAHA."

The Duchess told him of the small trick to make Megan's heart flutter. The family finished breakfast and Victon went out to get flowers. It was his first date and he was so nervous that he didn't sense anyone trailing behind him.

***********

Megan woke up a little pass noon, so she had lunch instead of breakfast. She still ignored Theodore which made him even more confused on what did he do.

"Megan, after you finished eating, can you go pluck the weeds and clean the back yard for me?" Her mother asked.

"Yes, mother" Megan replied as she hurriedly ate her lunch.

She took her shawl and went to the back yard. Megan swatted down and started to pluck out the weeds.

Thirty minutes in, she then heard a knock. Megan turned around to see Victon standing by the wooden gates holding a bouquet of flowers in his arm.

"Victon? What are you doing here?" Megan stood up as her face slowly became red from recalling the events last night.

Victon slowly walked towards her with his long legs and gave her the flowers. Megan was surprised to see Victon buying her flowers. The bouquet was full of red Camillas and tulips and Megan, who knew flower language, was flustered by the message Victon is trying to display.

"They're beautiful, thank you" Megan said shyly.

"I went to a flower shop and the lady there said these flowers are good for proposals... and do you have time to go on a date with me?" Victon asked.

"A d-date?" Megan looked at Victon. "Um can you wait I need to finish plucking the weeds. I'll be right back, I will put these flowers in a vase."

She hurriedly went back into the house to grab a vase and place the flowers in. Megan took the vase into her room then went back downstairs. She opened the back door to see Victon squatting down and plucking the weeds.

"Victon! You don't have to pluck the weeds, your suit is all dirty now!" Megan said as she wiped the dirt of his suit.

"It will be quicker if I help you pluck the weeds so we can go on our date" Victon said with a chuckled. "The suit is fine, it can be washed later. Don't worry."

Megan's heart fluttered as he offered his help. "Well then thank you, hehe" Megan giggled with her smile that showed her dimples.

"Is there any where you would like to go?" Victon said wiping off the dirt on his face.

"No, I don't. Where were you planning to go?"

"The Central Market, maybe a picnic near Lake Ravs."

"Oh! That reminds me, I want to go find books in the market!"

"Alright then" Victon said with his eyes looking endearingly at Megan.
