Episode 91: GABBY WENT MISSING

(1 week later)

Upon the rather successful fruit of being able to train his social skills, even if his improvement is not as big as others, Jerico still becomes ultimately satisfied with his self and thanks Finn very much. In fact, he feels confident enough to ask Gabby for a date.

Coincidently and unfortunately, he meets Murasaki on Gabby's door. Who had been knocking on her door for quite a while. But no one ever did respond. That triggered worry in Jerico as Gabby had never been the type to ignore someone. She didn't left either as the room was still lit up. And the black lab that she often leaves to her other friend's house who has capable handlers, are there, barking and making noise.

Murasaki didn't even pay much attention or annoyance to Jerico's patience. But he could tell that Murasaki looks paranoid. Too paranoid actually.

Then he spoke, not even daring to look at him, still trying to break or open the knob.

MURASAKI: Been here for 20 minutes, and still no response. I...I don't think she's here.

Jerico gulped and tried to contact the landlady. However, she told them that she never saw her left the building. Murasaki and Jerico, putting aside their own egos and distaste for one another as competitors, teamed up in search for Gabby. Asking everyone in the building if they have seen her. And none answered that they did. It's as if she disappeared in thin air.

While Jerico thinks it was probably super good abductors that may sell her for God knows what, Murasaki has a strong hunch that it could probably be the work of supernaturals. What doesn't make sense however, is the fact that she was abducted at all. Weren't the reaper Red supposed to look for her at all times? What was he doing that Gabby eventually got into this trouble? Did Red eventually perished and died protecting her? What must have happened?

Countless thoughts spiraled in his head as he continued to contact close friends of them in ask for help. They eventually did but not a clue was found.

They opened the door to her room earlier and the only things they saw were some remains of snow and broken furniture. When her disappearance lasted for 3 days, that was when Murasaki hired some professionals to look into the case. Weird enough, they never found anything useful rather than the traces of snow and broken furniture. There were fingerprints of Gabby, some red hair that belongs to her of course, but no sign of the abductor. It's as if he or she doesn't exist at all.

Then a thought came crashing back to Murasaki's mind. Snow. Yes! How could he missed this.

The spirit who helped him and Red before. Although she acted nicely, who knew how she could become? Or perhaps it was some other entity that has the same superpowers? Whatever the answer was by that point he knows well that it was a supernatural.

That made things rather difficult for him because as far as he's concerned, there is no way he can solve this case with humans. He had no eyes that serve the same purpose as Gabby's, nor the strength that Red always carries.

If a reaper wasn't able to succeed, how was he supposed to?

Murasaki leaves, knowing that solving this case with mere humans won't do any difference. He tried to study how to lure supernaturals instead, while he told Jerico to take the calls for him if ever they found something helpful.

On the fifth day, Jerico receives a rather unusual call saying that they found something he should definitely check on Gabby's apartment.

3 male kids.

The information intrigued Jerico and he quickly goes there, where he finds Tiwari and Finn, where he also found Tiwari speaking to someone frantically. Finn whispers to him that they were Gabby's parents. Emotional and screaming their frustrations of losing their only daughter.

Jerico feels saddened, but still determined to find her.

He looks inside, and saw the 3 kids they were talking about. All ranging from what looks like 5 to 7 years old.

According to the police men, they don't speak in a way that they could be understood.

Nor do they cry nor ask for food.

They were simply there.

It puzzled Jerico as to why kids would get involve in such a case. More so, what puzzles him even more was the fact that they were wearing bizarre looking outfits for toddlers their age.

The one, that looks the youngest was wearing purple princey outfit, complete with a cape and a half vest.

He also wears a very interesting gold ear piece, and when observed was found to be real gold.

The other have golden eyes, and white hair. Wearing a blue coat and was constantly playing with the black lab, almost as if it was speaking to it.

The last kid, was the most unusual looking. Not only does it has a scarlet scar on one of his eyes, his eyes were also odd colored.

He looks rather sad, and still.

Holding what looks like a ruby necklace in his hand.

Wait...why does he look like Red?

Jerico confronts his friends about it and they all agreed. So...did Red somehow did this? Did he abducted her and did all this stupid things as revenge? Or...is this something else?

The police stated that the kids mysteriously appeared in the apartment some hours ago.

None were sure of why or how, or who even put them there.

It was clear that the kids couldn't have easily got there on their own but still, there were no traces nor clues as to who did all of this.

The case was even more confusing and the abduction of Gabby Ann Nickolas became very popular all throughout Japan because of its bizarre nature.

None know about the abductor.

In the meantime, Jerico was forced to take care of the children because they refuse to go with the children health care workers. The reason was unknown but the kids kept following him around like a moth to a flame.

Jerico then accepted his fate and took the children home, although he sure wasn't that much close to children.

When they arrived, the kids went to his bed directly and playfully jumped up and down.

Even the sad one was having fun.

He ruffles his own hair in frustration and sits on the floor, watching the innocent looking children play.

Then he checks his phone again for more information present in helping him.

But like the day after they were clueless.

Damn.

He began to recall all the detective themed anime series he watched to pick up anything useful, but he just didn't find any.

How the hell did Gabby suddenly disappear?

His mind felt like aching but no matter how hard he squeeze things through he didn't found any clue.

Snow.

What does that have to do with anything?

It doesn't make sense.

The abductor didn't stole anything too. Just her. But why her?

She didn't do a thing.
