Jerico felt a chill down his spine as he heard a sentence came out of one of the kid's mouth.
He turned around.
HUMILITY: So, are you helping us or what?
Is he hearing things because of sleep deprivation or did this kid just told him something in a ridiculously rude manner.
JERICO: What? The...the kid-
HUMILITY: The-the the kid your mom. I'm Brylle. And of course, this two weirdos are with me. I don't know why we're kids because basically we can't remember anything but I do know...that I'm not supposed to be a kid.
RED: Maybe you should be a little nicer to him.
HUMILITY: Shut up, odd-eyes. I'm the leader here. I'm the first one who woke up. And the first one who remembered what we're supposed to do. Thanks to that white talking butterfly, unfortunately that white haired dumbo ate it.
RED: If you're the leader...can you at least tell him to stop chewing the fabric?
The two kids looked at Harry who was busy nibbling Jerico's blanket.
Which of course weirded him out greatly.
HUMILITY: Ew, what's up with him?
Jerico felt confused as how the kids were suddenly able to converse normally. He thought they couldn't. I mean that's what they said.
Is he just lacking sleep?
He rubbed his eyes and slapped his face. But the kids instead were laughing at him.
HUMILITY: Look at this grown up, making a fool of his self.
HARRY: True. He looks funny.
HUMILITY: And you smell funny. Get away from me, you smell like a dog.
Red on the other hand, looked beggingly at Jerico, eventually looking at his fridge.
JERICO: Oh, you're hungry?
RED: Yes.
JERICO: Okay, I'll get you food. But can you explain to me later why that gray haired boy is acting rudely?
RED: I dunno.
JERICO: Mm, okay.
Jerico walks up to the fridge to get the young boy water and cookies. But then he was bumped by the gray haired boy.
He looked around and saw him trying to get a look at his fridge.
HUMILITY: I want spaghetti!
JERICO: Whoah, whoah. I...I don't have that. Maybe some lasagna?
HUMILITY: Is that delicious?
JERICO: Yeah, but it'll be microwaved. Is that okay?
HUMILITY: Huh? Is it delicious then?
JERICO: Yeah. I just told you.
HUMILITY: I want chicken too.
HARRY: I want candies.
RED: I want food. Any food.
Their small voices kept begging for food that Jerico felt quite overwhelmed. For him it was unbearable.
He smacked his face and decided to call Tiwari and Finn after giving the three their request.
But while on the verge of dialing them he heard a noise at his kitchen.
It seems that the kids were energetically unstable. Too much for their own good.
The two boys opened the fridge while looking for some sweets while the black haired boy was busy pulling them away.
Plates and unwanted left over food were splattered on the floor as the gray haired boy reach for the gelatin on the topmost part of the fridge.
That was when Jerico felt the anger he hadn't been provoked to for a long long while. It was his first time to feel this way. The feeling of wanting to hit a kid.
JERICO: You...you guys need to be still! Or I'm going to spank you. Look..look, at this mess you've made!
His face turned red and eventually his angry expression wasn't matching the tone of his naturally soft voice. Even though he was trying to so hard to look angry, the kids didn't felt it was a big deal.
Knowing it was to no use, he chose to lengthen his patience a bit more and continued to call Tiwari and Finn.
Gladly, they picked up.
But they were currently unavailable because they were fixing the flight of Gabby's mother.
That was some big problem there.
Which reminded him, if now they can talk maybe they can help him locate Gabby.
JERICO: You there, boy with the odd eyes.
RED: Me?
JERICO: I mean...basically yeah, isn't it obvious? Those two boys don't have odd eyes, right?
RED: I...I didn't do anything mean. I was trying to stop them.
JERICO: No..I...I'm not mad at you. But...look, what is your connection with Red.
RED: Who is that guy? I don't know him.
JERICO: Huh? But you two are very alike. Are you sure you're not his son or you know...not his brother by chance?
RED: I have siblings. But none of them are named Red. I'm actually the oldest.
JERICO: What the...hell.
HARRY: Isn't that a bad word?
JERICO: Oh gosh, I'm so sorry...I..
HARRY: Bad word, bad word, you're going to that place now.
JERICO: Guys just...just behave, okay?
HARRY: Give me chocolates first.
JERICO: You are all so demanding what the...you know what?
RED/HARRY/HUMILITY: What?
JERICO: I'll give you all the sweets in the world if you make a deal with me.
HUMILITY: Yeah, sure...as long as it doesn't involve US cleaning your dirty kitchen floor.
JERICO: (Jerico...chill...he's just a kid. He's just a kid...He's just a...) Where are your parents?
HUMILITY: I don't remember, really.
JERICO: What the? How is this even possible? You're way too young to forget things like that.
HUMILITY: I don't know, man. I...we...we just woke up like this. Like something's been robbed from us. Sometimes we feel childish, sometimes we feel different. And that butterfly told us to get the girl so that we can serve our main purpose.
JERICO: Get the girl?
What...
What girl?
Jerico grabbed Humility's small body and carried him up.
HUMILITY: Whoah, easy...easy. I'm afraid of heights.
JERICO: What girl?
HUMILITY: The last thing I saw before I black out...is a red haired girl being dragged by a white lady.
JERICO: Oh, so the abductor is an american-
HUMILITY: No, I mean like a literal white lady.
JERICO: A...what do you mean? Do you mean an onryo?
HUMILITY: No. Like...she's white...that's all I remember. Then when I woke up, I'm a kid.
Jerico laughed and put him down.
JERICO: Kids are really imaginative, huh? Do you...expect me to believe this? This stuff?
HARRY: Do you have more food?
JERICO: Gray haired-
HUMILITY: I told you, Brylle.
JERICO: Brylle. I...I don't know. Maybe you should just call your parents. Or...just tell me the truth. I love that abducted girl, and...if I lose her...I...I won't let that happen.
RED: We don't know what happened to us too. We lost something too. And what's worse is we don't even remember what we lost. We need your help too.
HARRY: Give me food.
JERICO: I. Am. So confused as of now. Your mom really taught you good, huh?
Humility smacked his face and kicked Jerico's knees. Though a kid, his kick was pretty hard.
That it was impossible not to feel hurt by it.
JERICO: Ouch! What is the deal, man?
HUMILITY: You need to help us, and we'll help you too. We have one thing in common right now.
HARRY: We're all guys?
HUMILITY: No, stupid! We're all looking for the girl.
JERICO: I'm getting crazy am I? I'm close to believing you guys.
HARRY: I'm hungry again.
JERICO: You..you better not be tricking me. Do you really know where she is? If she's like a white lady or whatever, it just means that she's wearing a white outfit, right?
HARRY: No...I'm pretty sure that she's not human.
RED: To be precise...she's somewhat of a supernatural snow entity.
JERICO: What?
Red seemed to be gaining some of his memories little by little.
RED: I...can recall some bits of memories with that...creature. She's...wait...she's Tanken.
JERICO: Wow. Impressive, good made up name but seriously, who would name their kid Dagger?
HUMILITY: Man, this guy is dumb and hopeless, let's just go to another possible helper.
JERICO: Do you mean Murasaki?
HUMILITY: Yeah, yeah, whatever. As long as he or she is not like you.
JERICO: But he's busy for the moment.
HUMILITY: Gosh, now we're stuck with you.
JERICO: Wait...if..if you guys are not really kids.
HUMILITY: 'Bout time you got it right.
JERICO: Then would you turn back to normal after some time?
HUMILITY: I don't know, I've never had myself like this before.
JERICO: You know what, call me crazy but...I'm willing to try and play with your games.
HARRY: Cool, let's play feed Harry then.
HUMILITY: That's not what he meant, idiot. (shoulder bumps Harry)
JERICO: Okay, okay I'll feed you. But seriously, how many are your stomach?
...
Slowly Jerico began to accept the very weird setup the kids made him believe. It was hard to believe it even up to now but somehow there was a small voice telling him to give them a chance.
Because maybe...maybe...
No matter how silly to others,
They'll be the key to find her.
