Episode 129: ALICE AND DELTHA

The few reapers lucky to witness the scene were all in pure shock and fascination. Alice had no hint of rage or doubt when she ran towards her brother.

She clearly loves him dearly.

Deltha's wrinkly expression changed drastically in minutes, and he finally becomes his former youthful self, his features, screaming respect and authority.

Even Winter was a bit apologetic. What a fool he was to make fun of Deltha when he was in his weakened form.

Deltha, even though still lacking half his power, was overjoyed. Being youthful had never been so rewarding.

His back no longer ached, and his posture no longer stunted. Even his teeth were no longer yellow and fragile.

He can breathe perfectly, without need to gasp for much air, and his eyes...

Oh how much he missed seeing things clearly.

The once so old looking man became as handsome as he once before.

ALICE: How are you feeling?

Alice asked worriedly, her eyes a bit pale since too much flare had been discarded from her.

Deltha plants a kiss on his sister's forehead. It was something he used to do to comfort and show his appreciation to his oldest comrade and partner.

DELTHA: Madamme, I am fine. Thanks to you. I owe you a lot...

ALICE: Next time, don't leave your sister for a mortal girl. Oh, how lonely I've been.

Deltha smiles at her, and stands up, followed shortly by Alice.

She noticed that his hair was way longer than before, now reaching his hips.

ALICE: Is your hair always like that?

She asked, blaming the decades they've been apart.

Deltha laughs a bit, then shakes his head.

DELTHA: Your memory is not faulty, Madamme. Years have truly passed by. It grew when I'm in the mortal realm.

ALICE: Amazing.

DELTHA: I...I know you have questions, Madamme.

Alice nods. Then looks at the Divine Chamber.

ALICE: I...I know. But...for now.

She then looks at her long missed companion.

ALICE: Brother of Light, please come and accompany me for as long as we exist. My rule had been troublesome without your presence.

Deltha was more shocked now. She had no intention of at least punishing him for not coming back earlier. She didn't even asked why.

Deltha felt moved, and now traumatized of ever loving a mortal again, he agreed to join her. He doesn't want to be lonely again. Like her, he deeply missed her, and the throne beside her, and the reapers they rule together.

He cannot help but weep some tears, looking at the Chamber he once so often walked with.

HUMILITY: We apologize for keeping it secret.

Alice furrowed her brows.

ALICE: You...you too? You knew?

Although her voice was calm, she was a bit disappointed none of her higher ups told her.

Before she gets the wrong idea, Deltha holds her left hand to gain her attention.

DELTHA: Chill, sis.

ALICE: ...Chill?

DELTHA: Yeah, I mean...yes, loosen up a bit. I told them not to tell you.

ALICE: Did...did you hate me?

DELTHA: What? No! No! I...I didn't hate you. I...I hated myself for leaving you and I thought I don't deserve to come back.

ALICE: How foolish you are! We are 3 and 4! We should never be apart! If you think I'd hate you, that hatred will be short-lived. I could never hate you.

DELTHA: I..I'm sorry. Worry no more 'cause starting today, we'd never be apart again.

ALICE: Make sure you'd stay put.

DELTHA: I will.

Harry claps his hands a bit louder than he intented to, thus, ruining the moment.

Nhairon face palmed with his right hand then sighed.

NHAIRON: Humility, is it really necessary to bring him too?

HUMILITY: Me and Red just happened to meet him on the way. But...yeah, he's always been that type of guy.

NHAIRON: *sighs deeper*

ZEFARIH: Now that you're back, do we still have to get your powers back?

DELTHA: Of course! I only intend to borrow my sister's power. It'd be unfair if she remains like this forever. We'll take it back.

ALICE: Take it back? You just promised me, Deltha. You promised me you won't leave!

Alice looked upset, and her amber eyes glowed, illuminating the dimly lit chamber with yellow orbs floating about.

ZEFARIH: I...I'm out of here.

GABBY: I...I don't know what to feel.

RED: Yeah...this feels kind of...heavy.

HUMILITY: Oh, come on, it's not like they'd fight.

WINTER: How do you know? They've only been together for the first time in many decades, of course Madamme Alice would be upset.

DELTHA: I'll be back, promise.

ALICE: No, they'll do the work there. You stay here, with me, where it is safe.

DELTHA: But I can do it, I am no longer frail.

ALICE: If he did that to you once, he can do it again! I fear the time that I won't be able to save you anymore. Deltha, I might grow weaker if you keep this up.

DELTHA: I wasn't prepared that time. Now, I am. I just...don't want to be this way forever. Always having debts.

ALICE: If you die, there's nothing to you anymore! You'll never even reach me again. You'd be nothingness. Is that what you want?

DELTHA: I just find it unfair that we're making the demons and reapers risk their very existence to punish that fairy, and we are playing it safe. I don't want to make it look like we're just using them.

HUMILITY: Sir Deltha...it is fine if you stay here, we'll do the job for you.

ZEFARIH: Yeah,we don't mind. We already had a plan in motion.

NHAIRON: Listen to her, Sir Deltha. We can't risk to endanger you again.

DELTHA: Shut it. You do realized you owe me once? When I helped you defeat one of the daughters of Death? Make me fight that bastard who stole my power, and I'd stay in the Divine Realm till the earth fade anew.

The crowd were quiet. And no one dared agree or oppose in fear of angering one of the Pre-Divine Reapers.

ALICE: Do you really want to fight and take the risk?

DELTHA: Yes.

ALICE: Can't I change your mind?

DELTHA: Madamme, I promise you, I'd come back.

ALICE: Promises are meant to be broken, as what the mortals say, Deltha.

DELTHA: I'll come back.

Madamme Alice thought through and through, thinking of Deltha setting foot on the mortal realm sends her anxiety. She have only so met him. How can this be? How can she let him go again? Not sure if he'd ever return?

DELTHA: Please...just let me go this last time. I won't leave again, after this. Please.

ALICE: I...I can't.

DELTHA: My beloved sister. I will never break a promise to anyone, like how I promised her, my first love, that I'd risk losing the throne for her. Please, let me pay my debts to you. I will give your power back.

She felt like crying, her head feels splitting in a headache she only have since he mentioned leaving.

In the end however, she agreed. Knowing that her brother was persistent and hard as a diamond's head. Her hands were still shaking however, frantic that he'd fail to return.

HUMILITY: We'd rather perish than let Deltha disappear, Madamme.

Humility promised.

ALICE: I trust you fully, Humility. And Nhairon, I entrust you with half of the yellow and red reapers. Their beastly capabilties will surely rival that of a fairy's spell.

NHAIRON: I will arrange a batallion for that.

ALICE: Very well. Make sure that casualties will be avoided.

She then looks at Deltha once again, her expression now serious and professional.

ALICE: Make sure you keep your word. And protect them as much as they'd protect you.

The White Prince smiled and kneeled before her in respect, thanking her for agreeing. While she only hide the fact that she was slowly breaking into pieces, scared that in every war there is death and obliteration.

As much as she loves her subjects, she'd rather have them all destroyed that Deltha.

DELTHA: Sister...

ALICE: What?

DELTHA: I promise to make you smile again.

Her eyes widened, his words were unexpected at that moment, and by then she softly smiled and bowed a bit. Ruffling his white hair, making the respectful men watching them baffled.

Surely they've known each other for the longest. But they never expected them to behave that way.

ALICE: That fairy is after Red, one of my most loyal reapers. Say to it that whatever happens, he won't reach our realm. Not only does he plan on taking Red, he also caused a lot of problems to others. Just yesterday, Qida(Purple Reaper) reported that some animals and beasts were suddenly sucked clean of power. I believe that whoever we're up against was the one responsible. Make sure you get him punished.

She said, anger now present, as her eyes narrowed into a fiercer shape.

ALICE: If necessary, make him suffer just as much.

There is venom in her words. And the atmosphere turned darker than before.

...

Silas was planning, and soon he'll attack.
