Chapter: The Company nurse
Anna POV :
After a few days passed, Anna came to work, today is the first day of her summer job. She was excited to work as a company nurse in Chairman Yang's company. She wore a navy blue scrub suit. Her sister Sarah packed her lunch box.
"Bro! Can I borrow your sneakers" she asked permission from Sarah while walking downstairs
(Bro is their usually used compared to sister because they have no elder brother,...weird right)
"Alright!" She answered " 100 pesos per day" She added
"What?" She was surprised" That's expensive "she commented and laughed
"Of course...that's branded" and she chuckled
And they both laughed
"Okay ... just added to my debt list" she laughed loudly
"Here!" Sarah gave her lunchbox " Hopefully you have an ice cream for me" she said
" ice cream, "She asked
"yes! You borrowed my sneakers and now I prepared your lunches...in exchange for ice cream ..." she explained while putting the lunchbox on Anna's back bag
"Ok ok ok" she replied "Thank you ...you're so sweet "she praised her
"Don't forget I want keto ice cream!" She requested
"What!" She was surprised "That's expensive," she said
" I know...you know that ... I am on a diet "; she said and smirked
"Oh my...I think just want to change my mind" she said and smiled" alright I have to go ... I'm late " she ran
Anna left, she hurriedly went to the company.
At 7:30 in the morning, Anna came, she walked toward the clinic and she met nurse Kate, she's tall and pretty, wearing a white uniform.
She oriented Anna where the equipment was, she opened the metal cabinet and showed it to her, the Digital Bp apparatus, the thermometer, the stethoscope, and the second drawer the first aid kit, were kept, she opened it and showed it to her what's the inside of the red box, the alcohol, the stainless tweezer, clean gloves and the sterile gloves, cotton balls, micropore, adhesive bandages, white cloth, betadine, Gauze, isotonic solution, eye patch, eyewash solution, and etc.
Kate showed Anna the folder where the telephone of the hospital was compiled, especially the emergency telephone.
They talked about the common complaints of the staff, like dizziness, headaches, nauseated stomachache, dysmenorrhea
Kate was happy to orient her, she felt not bored and sleepy during her duty because for now, she had a companion.
At lunch break they both went to the canteen, Kate introduced her to the other staff of the company.
"Hi ma'am Kate" they greeted her
"Hi sir" she replied while walking
"What do you want Ana?" Kate asked her
"I have lunch, "she answered while standing in front of the counter
"If you don't like the food here, don't worry it's free... you need to choose what is viand"
"Does not what I mean..." she explained
After that, they sat and started digging their food
Someone came and joined with them
"New?" Nancy asked
"Ma'am Nancy!!! Kate greeted her
Nancy smiled
"Oh yes... she's Anna she introduced him "Well well, I'm not the only one on my cell now" she proudly said
Nancy laughed
" hi girl..." she greeted Anna
"Hi" she replied and waved to her
"don't believe in her" she jokingly said to Anna while pointing to Kate" She taught you well?... hmmm that is wrong!" She continued and laughed
"ui" Kate interrupted her
"I'm just kidding and don't take it seriously," Nancy said "By the way I'm Nancy...from the Marketing department " She introduced herself
"Yes....she's Nancy...sometimes I call her Nicey," Kate said "Nancy is too long compared to Nicey...." she explained
Anna nodded "Yes Nicey ...nice name" she commented
And they both laughed
Nancy and Kate have been friends since Kate started working in a company three years ago.
"Anyway...my boss is already engaged " she gossiped to them
"Really?" Kate asked
And Anna continued listening to them even though she couldn't relate to them.
"You will know them someday!" Kate said to Anna
Anna smiled at them
"Her boss is my crush...."Kate said
"Yes!.... that is why her boyfriend is insecure about him" and they both laughed
"Weeehhh!" Kate replied " he is your crush also" She continued
"Okay!" She agreed to her " I'm always having a fantasy about him...he smells so good an wanted to hug him " she continued while closing her eyes
The two of them, Anna and Kate are suddenly quiet when they see Chairman Yang standing behind Nancy
But Nancy kept telling about Tom when she opened her eyes, she saw Kate's reaction,
"What ?"She asked Kate and she looked away at Anna, Anna had the same reaction as Kate, they both gave signs that Chairman Yang was standing on her behind Kent but Nancy didn't realize and get what they meant.
"Are you done Ms. Nancy?" Chairman Yang asked
Nancy was ashamed and wanted to melt in her seat, she stood up and turned back, she saw Chairman Yang's reaction, feeling wanted to eat her alive. Anna and Kate stood up,
She bit her lower lip and frowned, " I am sorry Cha.....ir...man" she stuttered
"That's okay Ms. Nancy! " he interrupted her
"You may continue your lunch," he said "Go on" he continued "Don't mind me," he said
He looked at Anna "Enjoy your meal " he greeted her
Anna smiled and nodded to him
Chairman Yang left, and the three ladies sat again on their chair
Nancy was ashamed " Oh my goodness! why you didn't give me a sign"
"We already did!" Kate said and Anna agreed to her
" You did?" she asked "But...maybe today will be my last day"
"Really ?" they chorus
"I'm just kidding!" she said and drank her juice "Maybe they will fire me "
and they sighed
"By the way have you met Daniel?" Nancy asked them
"No!" they both answered and shook their head
"Daniel Yang is charming compared to Thomas ?"
"Oh!" they chorus
"Yeah!, " she answered "Have you met someone, when they looked in your eyes, feeling you're in a fairy tale and you will blush... feeling they looked into your soul " she continued
the two ladies shook their head
"hmm that's him...he's approachable and hmmm smell good dear !" she describes him
Anna and Kate continued listening to her
"I met him, on my first day... oh dear, I felt my underwear falling down on my legs"
She exaggerated
"When he came to my boss's office..that time, my boss and he were truly closed, and he went overseas two years ago, he studied at Harvard"
"Harvard?" Anna asked
Nancy nodded " He's an intelligent person...hmm your ideal man is like him," she asked Anna
Anna smiled " Not literally..."
Kate and Nancy smiled
"Girl if you've met him... for sure you will be an Anti-Thomas Yang and Anti-Kent Yang "
"And who is Kent ?" Anna interested
"hmm Kent is ..." Kate said " He's a good-looking guy...but he always bullied sir Tom" she continued
"Oh! really ?" she laughed and didn't know why she did
"Yes!" Nancy replied " Omg! you're laughed...seem you're cursing him"
"no..no. I'm sorry " Anna commented and drank her water
"Anyway, they are not closed, except for Sir Thomas and Sir Daniel, they look like a brother," Nancy said
"The three of them are the next in line to be a CEO," Kate interrupted
"what about their parents?" Anna asked
"Sir Marvin Yang, The father of Sir Thomas, he doesn't like to be a CEO, he is sick and the doctors advised him not to work hard, the stress and the workload are bad on his health, that's what I heard," Nancy said " OMG!... no comment on his kindness, he is a very sweet and good man, like his wife" she continued and ate her food

and the three of them laughed
"Because that is your personality Nicey!" Kate said
"And what about Kent and Daniel's parents...?" Anna asked
Kate and Nancy, surprisingly looked at her
"And why are you so much wanted to know about them?"
Anna laughed sarcastically
"Well, I just wanted to know about them... I am new here!" she excused
"hmmm...you have the reason...well.." Nicey said
"Sir Kent's grandfather is Chairman Yang's elder brother while Sir Daniel's grandfather is the youngest in the family, but Chairman Yang built this company, so the rest of them are the stockholders only... and I heard that Tom fiancé was one of the stockholders of the company..."
"Ui?..it's true?" Kate asked
"Yes!" Nicey quickly answered
"you mean Mildred?" Anna asked
"yes" she replied "Ah wait?" she looked at Anna wondering, " I think you knew something about them"
"What?" I know Mildred that she is the fiancé of Tom, That's what...I ..uh... have read " she excused herself and smiled

the two of them were silently looking at her and wondered
'hmmm.. you're right!" They both answered
"you knew something," Nancy said
"No!..." Anna replied and chuckled
"Spit it out" she replied
"Nothing !... promised ... it's all in my mind...and wondered ..right?" she commented
"Haissst" Kate hissed "Let her be... " she said to Nancy " In fact she is new" she continued
"Oh dear, I think I'm late...It's already 1:10 in the afternoon, we need to go back " she said after looking at her wristwatch
"Oh yeah !" Kate replied
they hurriedly finished their food drank their juice and stood up. Nicey ran toward her desk, her boss not in his office so that she could catch her breath.
Meanwhile, Anna and Kate came back to the clinic, Kate got a page from Marvin Yang's secretary, Kate asked for help from Anna, she told her to bring the first aid kit the BP apparatus, and the stethoscope
They ran hurriedly to Marvin Yang's office.
Chairman Yang was there and Thomas Yang was on the corner he was on the phone.
They saw Marvin lying on the couch, Kate Hurriedly ran toward Marvin Yang and took his vital signs, while Anna assisted her.
he's in a cold sweat, pale, trembling, and weak
"Ma'am Kate, I think he's hypogly" she whispered
Kate suddenly took the glucometer and checked his blood sugar, the result was super low
" What is it ?" Chairman Yang asked when he saw Anna whisper to Kate
"I already called Dr. Kim" Tom notified them while walking toward them
" he is hypoglycemic..." Kate said " We need a cup of juice or gum or anything sweet" Kate requested
" wait, in my refrigerator in the office" Tom slowly ran and after a minute he came back with a lot of bottles of juice, he opened one of them and gave it to Anna,
"Here," he said and Anna suddenly took and gave it to Marvin Yang, she slowly helped Marvin to elevate her head to prevent aspiration
"Is he diabetic?" Anna asked Kate
"No, he isn't" Tom Interrupted, " I think he skipped his meals, Mama told me he's on a diet" Tom explained
Anna wiped Marvin Yang's sweat and she helped him to drink his juice
"Let me, " Tom said and he helped his father to drink his juice
"Pa, ?" He called him
his father is still weak, but he is not in a paperwhite color anymore compared to before
Nurse Kate talked to Dr. Kim, about the condition of Marvin Yang
After he finished his juice, they waited for 15 minutes and Anna checked his blood sugar again, It increased,
"How's your feeling Marv?" Chairman Yang asked his son walking closer to him
Marvin Yang nodded and smiled
"You frightened us " Tom sighed
"I'm sorry," he said " AHH!, Anna you here," he said in a monotone voice
Anna nodded, her curved lips turned to straight, and smiled at him
Marvin tried to sit on the couch and
"I just want to see our company nurses sooo" he jokingly said
"Haiist " Tom hissed " Alright he is fine now," Tom said and stood up
Marvin chuckled "I'm hungry..." he said, he's still weak
after half an hour, Dr. Kim came, with his paraphernalia
Dr. Kim is family medicine, a family friend of theirs.
"Dr. Kim " Chairman Yang greeted him
"I am sorry Chairman... It's traffic" he excused
"No worries, go please check my son," he said
Dr. Kim walks closer to Marvin Yang, he assesses him
" Looks like these nurses done my part," he said and smiled
Kate and Anna smiled proudly to themselves
"Kate told me everything while I am driving, I thought he needed to admit him to a hospital, but for now he doesn't need it anymore, his blood sugar is 80mg/dl, " Dr. Kim explained
"Ahh, I hate Hospital doc, " Marvin interrupted
"Are you sure he doesn't need to be admitted, how about his heart" Tom worried
"He's fine"
"Yes, I am fine" Marvin insist " unless Kate would stay with me, right Anna" he jokingly said
they both laughed
"I'm just kidding Kate..." Marvin said
"Anyway, what he needs right now is to eat, " Dr. Kim advised
"yes, I am hungry, I haven't eaten last two days, only water " He explained
"What?" they chorus
"whoah!" Marvin said " Don't look at me like that... Im, not a criminal !" he wanted to shout but he was still weak
" Alright!, what do you want ?" Tom asked
"Anything!" he replied
Alright excuse me, I need to go, I had a patient now in the hospital" Dr. Kim excused " By the way Ms. Kate, can I talk to you for a second" Dr. Kim requested
"Thank You Dr." Chairman Yang said and they both shake hands
"Thank you doc!" Tom said " Goodbye" He waved
The two of them went outside
meanwhile, Anna packed their things, she cleaned the area.
"Thank you, Anna," Marvin said and smiled
Anna nodded
"Why you don't like to stay for a minute, we would like to have a snack with you " Chairman Yang requested
"Yes, please" Marvin added " So you can check with me" he continued
Anna was shy,
"I uh..." and nodded to them
after an hour their snack came and enjoyed their food.
"Anna, would you like to have dinner with us" Chairman Yang invited
"Ah no.. cHA..." Anna stuttered
"hMM, I told you to call me lolo, "
" Please join us "
"hmm, I can't ?" Anna refused
"You have a date ?" Marvin Yang intrigued
and they looked at her
"Ah no no... my parents came this morning! so I am excited to meet them" she replied
"Oh, I thought you have a date?" Chairman Yang sighed "alright, Tom will send you off "
"What?" Tom surprisingly said
"Oh!, there is something wrong with that ?" Chairman Yang asked
"I will send my fiancé tonight to the airport " he excused
"No ..no worries... I can go home..." she interrupted tom
" I insist. Tom will send you home...that is all" Chairman Yang commanded
"Haissst " Tom hissed
Anna looked at him and felt guilty
Chairman Yang stood up and left, Anna followed him, she closed the door
"Lolo, please!" she pleased him " I can go home alone... in fact, he needs to send his fiancé "
"Anna, please, don't..." He replied
"But Lolo..." she insists
Chairman Yang left and ignored her request, Anna wanted to kick his ass, because he is stubborn, she's feeling guilty for Tom, she doesn't want to be involved in him anymore, she took a deep breath and turned around to get her stuff.
she was surprised when Tom was standing behind her, Tom was looking at her, and their gaze lock, Anna can't stand looking at him thus she looked away.
Tom walked closer to her and stopped
"I will send you home, at 5 pm sharp," he said and continued walking
Anna hissed, she was ashamed of him
Anna walk inside Marvin Yang's office, packed their things, and went back to the clinic.
