Chapter 69: RELEASE THE BEASTS

Gray fingers were finished preparing her sewing materials,

So it moved to the cage, where she pulled out a woman,

She was frail, and shivering at the sight of her captor,

Who only gave her a smile, that made her heart jump in terror.

Nemue, a witch of higher position, was humming her tune while stitching the woman's mouth,

In hopes to muffle the woman's screams of pain, that were supposed to be loud.

The woman, clearly frightened, kept wriggling, and struggling about,

But she was no match for the witch's strength, and even if she broke free, there still seems to be no way out.

"Sshh, don't struggle much," she said in a falsely soothing voice,

But the woman kept crying, as she truly have no other choice,

Slowly, the needle came in and out of her flesh,

And she wanted to shout, but she knew she's still devoid of help.

Leviathan watches her from a distance,

As she looked at him briefly, "Care to give me assistance?"

"No, you're on your own, just do it quickly,

It's almost dawn,"

"If only that lazy Belphegor not sleep at this hour,

Then we could just feed these humans to the lair, but no...that demon needs to be sour,

These humans too, quit yelling,

If Belphegor hears, then you'll recieve a fate that's worse than dying,"

"Just do your job so I can summon my pets to rest,

This place is dry, and a ruined mess,

My water dragons are already bored out of their minds,

There's not much moist here that I could find,"

"Quit complaining, Leviathan, I am almost done,

But it would be much faster, if you help while you can,"

"I told you, I have no intention to lend you my hand,

So stop talking to me, and enough with the demands,"

"Quit being too irritable, Leviathan,

It's not like it's my fault, that pest of an angel had a plan,"

"And still your legion is stationed in the entrance,

How did that bastard enter? And made us believe all at once?"

"Maybe a spell? Who knows? But it's definitely not one of my own,

You know we will never betray you and Lucifer,

We are all loyal to you, Me, and my daughters,"

"Tsk, just keep on with your...mmm, that lady on the corner, she looks quite...healthy,"

"Ah, that one sure is, definitely,

"Should I give her to you? We caught her just recently,

She don't talk too much, but hey, isn't she lovely?"

"Yes she does. Can I take her? It's better than her being torn apart by the hellspawns,"

"Sure, but you should help me stitch the others, so we can all rest before dawn,"

"Fine, but I'm taking that one, my nephew might find him very amusing,

After all, he willingly gave me his golden mirror after I pointed it out,

Without even asking me for anything,"

"You're fonder of Elenchos than Mammon will ever be,

I'm sure he'd be delighted, if this he'd then see,

but for now let's take these people to the monsters,

After all, Lucifer would rather kill them all, than have the angels barge in to rescue,"

...

The zombies snarled, excited at the scent of humans entering their nose,

"Aw, how are my pets? Famished, I supposed?

Now, don't tell little Beel that I took these weaklings here, okay?

He won't like it, so eat quietly if you may,"

Nemue threw the humans one by one into the pit,

Watching them tore their limbs apart, bit by bit,

Their mouths easily devoured them like chicken meat,

As their skin quickly turned to bone, swept clean by their tongue and teeth.

They asked for more,

But Nemue saved the other humans for entertainment Lucifer wanted to explore,

So even if heartbroken, as she hears their hungry pleas,

"I'll bring you animals tomorrow, lamb, goats and pigs,"

...

(Ken's POV)

I killed a tree today, by simply touching it,

I could finally absorb it, but still had trouble releasing it,

Michael looked very proud, as I...felt not so much,

After all, even to a single angel, I still am no match.

I sighed, what am I to do now?

Is this achievement something to be proud?

I heard Stacy's steps loud and clear,

As she handed me water, "So how's the Seer?"

"I...I had a dream last night,"

"Can you tell me about it?"

And I replied, "All right,"

"I saw...a witch stitching people up,

I'm afraid, it's true and not made up,"

Michael's ears quickly listened,

As my eyes then, with tears glistened.

"I saw our friend, Mar...she was...she was supposed to be given to a demon as a gift,

Saying she was different, looked quite healthy and fit,

As the others were silenced, clean and swift,

As they were thrown into a pit, for monsters to eat,"

My eyes turned teary, as I crumpled my fists,

"Can I make the progress quicker? Can I strengthen my feats?"

"Ken, just focus on what you're doing right now, you don't have to rush,

If you do, then you'd strain your body, for bad will always accompany, anything that's too much,"

"Just listen to him, Ken,

I know you want to help if you can,

But you have to focus and be grateful of what you can do for now,

Because it'd be a waste if you push through limits your body can't allow,"

I pursed my lips, and realized she's right,

So I rested for a bit, as I admire the sun's light,

It's been so long since I felt so safe,

Until I remembered, my written fate.

"Angel Michael," I called out,

"Yes, Ken? I worry your tone feels in doubt?"

"Did God...knew what decision we'd make till the end, since our birth?"

"He knew that of course, earlier than the beginning of earth,"

"Then...did he write every page of our life?

Was he responsible for our tears and our strife?"

"Listen Ken, he gave you those challenges,

Those things you felt like you can't manage,

But you have the freedom to decide, which path you will take,

God created you, but not the bad choices you'd make,"

"Why did God chose me? I'm not the kindest,

Not the smartest, and my faith sure isn't the strongest,"

"Did you really think those men and women God chose before you are all perfect and noble?

Hah, if you haven't realized, they all caused God a bit of trouble,

Only Him, and Christ are perfect,

So don't look down on yourself, for even if you're flawed, He saw you fitted,

He saw you in a different light, He trusted you more than you trust yourself,"

With those words which I recieved, I could feel my heart slightly melt,

God loves me, how dare I doubt myself when that's not how God felt,

I have to put my complaints aside, and just accept what I've been dealth,

Embrace my future, that's already been set.

I tried to watch the angels fight,

As I tried to dodge, from left to right,

Such heavenly creatures, were fast and bright,

That I couldn't help, but hurt my eyes.

"Focus, I'm not going easy on you,"

Uriel reminded, yet this fact I already knew,

He was much strict than Michael,

But he was very apologetic, whenever I fail from trying.

Different archangels coach me from time to time,

As I either collapse from exhaustion, or either passed out almost blind,

And even if I feel hurting badly, I am happy of the progress,

They even sewn me something, that only angels dress.

I ate more than I was used to,

As I feel my muscles harden, and some features in my body that's definitely new,

After months, I could feel changes becoming more and more,

Although still not largely significant, I look better than before.

"Wait till they see this,

Wait till they see the 'real beast!'"

Stacy exclaimed rather excitedly,

As Robert admired my changes innocently.

"Wow, you look really good! Is it me or you looked taller?"

"He didn't, Robert, now let's just go and not be a bother,"

"Hey, you guys aren't, really, I'm resting anyways,

So I'd appreciate it if we talk more and...I just don't want you guys to be away,"

They exchanged glances then quickly stayed intact,

"Alright! So what do you want to talk about?"

"When would you think the world'd be back?"

"Robert, that's too hard to answer,

Maybe ask something that's at the level of your sister?"

And we all chuckled, temporarily forgetting all the dangers.

...

Lluming failed to find Ciana, and in anger looked for Beelzebub instead,

When he saw him, alone, waiting at Sellena's door,

He quickly grabbed him on his head,

And slammed him hard to the floor.

Shocked by the action, Beelzebub whimpered in fear,

"Where is Ciana? I know you know, so is he near?"

"Ciana? Who? I don't...do you mean the boy who signalled the reapers?

He was killed, but it was by the order of Lucifer!"

Already blinded by anger and revenge,

Lluming continued to bang his head, "You little wench!"

And the noises he made quickly woke Asmodeus up,

As Sellena paused her lullaby, and pulled Asmo's head up from her lap.

Lluming, now aware that the knob is turning,

Took Beelzebub to a corner, as he was still bleeding,

Asmodeus only sighed as he saw his outside carpet tainted with blood,

"But this is the only clean carpet, we availably had,"

Until he saw a bloodied feather, left on the scene,

That he suddely wondered, what it could have been,

There was an obvious trail, and although it could have been the usual Beelzebub,

He heard a clear whimper too, that awoken him from his nap.

Sellena peeked, and knew it was Lluming,

As she was torn of what to do, when she saw Asmodeus leaving,

"I'm going to check this out for a bit, stay here,"

"But wait..I'd be too cold by then dear,"

Asmodeus felt that she was too out of character,

And that made his suspicion much stronger,

He followed the trail to Beelzebub's room,

As he readied his enchanted objects to be used soon.

And when he felt cold pale arms wrap on his back,

He quickly turned around, and was greeted by shock.
