Chapter 74: LONGING FOR COMPANY

Lluming woke up, feeling very hot,

He had never felt like this before,

But he stood up, with all he got,

And yet when he did, he felt his head spinning,

As if someone had hit him with a metal bat. Sellena saw him struggle to get up on the other bed,

While Asmodeus gave him a look warning, death,

And yet the angel did not taunt him, he was seriously in pain,

So Sellena rushed to his side, her once peaceful face now worried taint.

Asmodeus, put his negative feelings aside,

And let him have Sellena, though it hurt his pride.

"He has a fever, he's an angel, but it seems like a fever,"

Sellena said, quite surprised, and unsure, for she thought they could never.

"This angel, gave up his immortality, for whatever his motivation is,

He's in a mortal body, with angelic powers still remaining.

Of course he'd...wait...does that mean...he can have human emotions too?"

That reliazation, hit him like a truck would do.

Now aware that the angel could develop romantic feelings,

He grabbed Sellena's wrist, as she started complaining.

"It hurts, Asmodeus!"

But his eyes were furious.

He then left and asked the witches for human medicines,

Saying she was sick, and needed treatment.

The witches agreed, and gave him what he wanted,

Although Asmodeus wasn't happy, he was doing this for someone's benefit.

Lluming was asleep, seemingly dreaming,

As Sellena was still worried, and reminded the angel to keep fighting,

And yet he was in his deepest memories,

Recalling his last encounter with Eleazar,

Smiling at him, before he stretched his wings to fly afar.

His blue eyes, and sincere smile,

Broke him from his dream as he unconciously cry,

He was still haunted and still in denial,

That his dearest companion, had truly died.

His rage came rushing back at him like embers,

After seeing a demon in front of him, oh how he remembered,

He was weak, and stopped himself from harming Asmodeus,

Who was rather confused of his expression, although to Sellena it was obvious.

The angel took the medicine, and thanked Asmo despite his hatred,

Asmo only nodded, and expected more praise since the angel he sheltered,

But no words followed, and that deeply hurt his ego,

So as the angel was resting, Asmodeus insisted Sellena to go.

"I can't leave him, what if he needs help?"

"He isn't a child, he can handle himself,"

"Where do you want me to go anyways?"

"We're going to eat a lot, go to places, I'm sure you'd be amazed,"

Sellena took a bath first, as Asmodeus tried his best not to peek,

When she went out in a blue pluffy dress, Asmodeus couldn't dare speak,

The color was very fitting for her, it made her look sweet,

Although something was still missing, she forgot to have anything to wear for her feet.

Asmodeus rushed to the closet,

As he searched the few sets,

There was no closer color but gray,

So he showed it to her as she confirmed it's okay.

He even insisted to put it on her feet,

But she refused, and he accepted his defeat,

When she bowed down however, to wear it on her own,

Asmodeus saw a bit of her skin, and how he so wanted they were alone.

Sellena quickly returned his gaze,

And he quickly looked at the window,

As the woman sighed,

"Asmodeus, I know."

The demon quickly assisted her, as Lluming continued to sleep,

"I hope he doesn't wake up," "Asmodeus, that's mean,"

He closed the door, and sealed it with magic,

While Elenchos, who saw sight of him, quickly ran in panic,

"Uncle! I mean Lord! Can I be alone with you and have a word?

Sir Leviathan gave me a woman, but I don't know much about her, and she seemed bored!"

"Is she beautiful?"

Sellena quickly slapped his shoulder,

"I mean...is that all?"

"Can I borrow Sellena?" "That, I never shall,"

"How? I...I don't know how I can cheer that woman up...she's...she's too quiet,"

"Well, just let her join your father, I'm sure he wouldn't be upset,"

"No...I mean...what if my father use her for his bets?

Come on, you know him, he'd rather treat her like a pet,"

Asmodeus sighed, and looked at him seriously in the eyes,

"Look Elenchos, you're too...nice,

Just spend time with her and she'll show her true self soon,

You don't have a bad reputation yet...so maybe she'd realize that, even before noon,"

"Uncle...I mean...Lord, I...I don't know if I can do this,

I mean...I don't want to hurt her, she seems very fragile,"

"Well...I can't just lend you Sellena,"

"And why not?"

Asmo leans closer, "I haven't had her solo for a while,"

"But...Lord Asmo, I...fine, no one ever gives time with me,

I'd do it myself then, now you can rejoice and have the time of your life,

What a useless family,"

He runs away, as Sellena looks as Asmodeus, quite angrily,

"Hey, it will help him mature, definitely,"

"You should have just let him have my company,"

"But I want you today, I'm sure it wouldn't go as terribly,"

"Oh really?"

"Well...hopefully,"

...

"Ah...this is terrible!"

(I'm running out of fables!)

Mar looked quite shocked at his reaction,

As he quickly looked from underneath his table.

Pulling dusty boxes, and looking for books,

As he doesn't know much, and doesn't want to be rude,

Yet his behaviour worsened, and she seemed more confused,

As Elenchos sighed, his efforts were no use.

"Well...what do you want to do, Martha?

Well other than...escape for.. and...you know, the-

The obvious reasons, that a captor, I mean I'm not your captor but..

*sigh* I...I shouldn't have said that,"

Martha however, rather than scared, find him pathetic,

Although sometimes, she finds his actions sweet,

And yet despite that, she was aware it could be disguise,

So she knew forming a deep connection with him, wouldn't be as wise.

A thought sprang up to his mind,

Although it took a while for him to have courage to try,

He asked her once again, about herself, about her sibling,

But she was still hesitant, and as a reply, he recieved nothing.

Still wanting to gain her trust, he proposed an idea,

"If you don't have a brother, then I'd happily be your sibling, Martha!"

He smiled and for a short time, Martha realized he was genuine,

Although she didn't drop her guard still, and let her instincts win.

"You know...I don't have a sibling too,

And...it kinda sucks, when...when you're left with...well, you,

You don't have anyone to talk to, especially when they ignore you a lot!

That's very annoying, but...I guess that's the life we got...

Oh, sorry, I forgot this is about you! I apologize!"

"No, no, go on. You're really nice,"

"Really? You think so? You're not afraid of me anymore?"

"Well...you did accompany me, so I won't get bored."

(Wow...uncle Leviathan's gift didn't turn out so bad after all,

I can finally have someone to talk to,

And...and someone I could show around the halls!

I can have my dream sibling, I can have a friend,

I hope she won't get scared away in the end.)

The young demon optimistically narrated a lot of events,

And even showed her his own written books, which he still haven't end,

"I was really thinking of becoming a writer,

While Lucifer still convinces me...that I, be a ruler,

It's really hard when you were born a demon,

People quickly assumed I'm one of 'them' without question,

And yet...when I become human, I'd make sure to live upright,

Since...I really am aware that whatever they do...the good will always win the fight,"

"You...you wanted to be human?"

"I wanted to have humanity,"

"Well, I'm sure if you put your heart into it, you truly can,"

"Yeah, I...I just hope I'm not the only demon born longing for morality,"

Martha then saw a character Elenchos drew,

Who looked a bit like Ken, when she imagined him grew,

Her transfiction to the character made Elenchos happy,

"That's Hal, a knight that despite his obedience, lost his family,"

"Who was he based of?"

Her voice sounded tender and soft,

"I...I based him of...of my father,"

"Your father?"

"Lord Mammon...isn't really just a gambler,

There's a reason why he turned away, and became a sinner,

Although I'm definitely not justifying his wrong behaviours,

It's just that...I...despite his lack of support throughout my life,

Understand his pain, and...why he chose to turn from the light,"

"Mammon, huh? I'm sorry...I...I really don't know him,"

"Ah, I forgot, it's alright if you don't know him,

After all, who would waste their time searching about who demons are,

We're...beastly, sinful creatures, that only breeds war,

I hope my father changes his mind and join the light once again,

Before the heavens become merciless, and we no longer can,

I may have loved being able to do whatever I want in the world,

Causing madness without consequences, but I still fear the true Lord,

What if He truly would punish us, as we have gone too far,

I...I'm afraid, if it's too late, I can no longer convince them, Mar,"

Mar did not reply, afraid to symphatize with the demon,

Reminding herself, that it's as easy to lie,

As getting yourself sent to a prison,

She simply looked at him, and then afar,

Her thoughts led to Ken, as she stares at the stars.

How was he? Is he getting better? Does he think of her?

How was Stacy? How about Robert? Are they still together?

She sighed, and she imagined Ken rescuing her again,

As she closes the book, hoping this madness would end.

Elenchos understands she may have been overwhelmed,

After all, a demon, isn't really an ideal friend,

He simply backed away, and smiles,

"At least she seems better, perhaps it's right to leave her a while,"
