Chapter 75: HUMANITY'S STRONGEST ENEMY

The orange eyed demon walked in a rather slow pace,

As the she-demons gossip about how much they admire his clean-looking face,

"I wish he always look like this,

Although, he may come back to his dirty looking face after he eats,"

He quickly looked at them, but they knew he cannot touch them,

They were Lucifer's demons, so their best treatment should always be given,

They tried to flirt with him as they apologize for gossiping,

But instead he just growled at them, as he kept on walking.

"How frustrating it was to look like a monster, even among monsters,"

He whispered to himself as his voice mellowed somber.

His stomach growled again, but he tried to refrain himself from collapsing,

He tried chicken, and other animal meat, but it won't satisfy his craving,

His tongue wanted human meat, but he haven't forgot his talk with Lluming,

But his determination suddenly stopped when he saw Lucifer approaching.

Lucifer noticed that Beelzebub seemed rather gloomy,

His steps slower, and his eyes looked rather hungry,

He seemed to be ignoring him too,

Even though he can't recall what fault he've done,

So he gave an apology, although he recall none.

The demon's words made Beelzebub rather shock,

"Beel, do you want me to bring you something to snack?"

Lucifer sound genuine, although his eyes says otherwise,

It seemed as if he knows something, as if he's in for a surprise.

He wanted to resist, but his hunger was hard to conceal,

Not long after, his stomach gave a sound, and revealed what he feel,

Lucifer laughed, and held the demon's hand,

"Come with me, this isn't a request, it's a demand,"

Beelzebub then fearfully followed Lucifer,

And not long after, they arrived, in a big, and noisy chamber,

There were lots of people, all crying for mercy,

But Lucifer only smiled, "I'm going to ask a question, so form a line and hurry,"

The people, all in a malnourished state, lined up immediately,

As they held their breaths, of what would come eventually.

"Alright, are you ready for the question?

Hahah, now...here it goes:

Those who side with God, will be eaten by Beelzebub,

And those who side with me, will be spared to live eternally,

Now, what do you say?

For a question, it's pretty okay,

right?

Now, those who believe in me, go to the left,

And those who believe in God, go to the right,"

And more than half of the people turned away from the light,

As they cry, rejoicing, thinking they've taken flight.

But Lucifer laughed rather loudly,

To those people who didn't wore their beliefs proudly,

"How upset God would be,

If He finds out that most of you, believe in me,

Sadly, I do not care any less if you side with me or not,

At least those few people are still proud even if they die in the name of God,

For your punishment, those who side with me,

Will truly be free-"

The crowd rejoiced,

As those who sided with God still didn't change their choice.

"They will be freed by Death,

As they are to be eaten by Beelzebub, himself,"

People who sided with Lucifer quickly ran to the right,

But Haborym, who was just behind,

Didn't let them all out of his sight.

The Great Duke of hell quickly shot a line of fire,

Preventing the people to escape from their desire,

The devil quickly let his large viper descend,

Preventing the people to escape and defend. Beelzebub, quickly crawled down,

His mouth already watering, as he growled like a hound,

When he saw a child held by its mother however,

He couldn't help but halt, as he frowned.

He took the child carefully, who was crying helplessly,

Haborym saw his actions, and came to his aid immediately.

Beelzebub was so angry of how quickly the mother gave her child,

He handed the baby to Haborym,

"If you're going to kill the young, do it quick,

I do not want her to feel my teeth, as she slowly turns weak,

She do not deserve to be punish this extremely yet,

Her faith could be stronger than these adults, who fret,"

Haborym nodded and took the child away,

As Beelzebub searched for more young,

Before he continued his play,

He wanted to feel mercy, to feel anything at all,

But these adults chose the wrong side,

They were greedy, selfish, and deserves to be mawled.

When he was sure that no innocent remained,

He had his back opened again, and ready to inflict pain,

He growled, and to them, he was the scariest demon of all,

His eyes looked so hungry, and he was fast although he crawl.

Though the humans outnumber him greatly,

No one could have courage to approach the monster,

Their fear even clouded their minds to devise a plan,

And many chose to run as fast as they can.

No one could beat the agile demon however,

He was blessed with speed, balance, and great power,

"None of you will truly have a chance,

So just stop, and give up in advance,"

Haborym taunt as he watch alongside Lucifer,

Who enjoyed the show so much, he couldn't help but release a few laughter.

The chamber was filled with screams and apologies,

As they continued to watch the play so casually,

He whispered to Haborym to fetch him another set of humans,

As they were very entertaining, to torture and watch.

"I'm sure the angels won't mind if we elliminate the rotten,"

"Yet it's their mission to make them bloom, if you have forgotten,"

"Tsk, just do as I say, get more people, I like it when they're dying,

Either from their own stupidty, rashness, or simply...from lying,"

Haborym agreed, and flee,

As he called his 26 legions immediately,

The demons heard the trumpet, and followed him,

They searched the earth yet again, and their search begin.

Lucifer admired the chaos he now sees under,

"Well...according to the prophecy, as many as sand were the people to suffer,"

He watched them cry, as Beelzebub hunted them one by one,

As he lost himself completely, for his gluttony had won.

Try as he may, to control his urges,

He cannot help but feel satisfied, as to the flesh, he indulges,

He forgot about Lluming, about heaven for that spree,

As he let his demonic side win, his wildness nothing but free.

Lucifer envied Beelzebub a little,

He was the weakest, yet the people seemed to fear him much stronger,

He wondered if it was because he looked scarier,

Or if it's because people do not want being ran after.

The thought, he dismissed,

As he continued to watch with bliss,

How easily Beelzebub break them,

Limb from limb,

How easily he eat their skulls, as if they were melons,

Ah, how fascinating to watch him, the fierce description of a demon.

The people on the right side, yelled themselves,

Crying at the demon's messy games,

They tried to comfort each other, to have their thoughts away from the monster,

But they fail to unnotice him, as his growls become louder.

"Would I be able to make them tremble as much as Beelzebub did?

Look how terrified they look, whenever they are cornered by him,

Ah, maybe I know what makes them scared the most,

They do not care about the monster,

Just what makes their life become a loss,

Death is their true enemy,

But wait till they realize they'd suffer eternally,

I'll give them immortality as promised,

Immortality in hell, live forever, as they please,"

The people begged that the monster spare them,

But to hear such words, inside a frenzy, Beelzebub no longer can,

His tentacles quickly ripped their faces apart,

And resisting him still, wouldn't be smart.

This time, no angel came to stop him eat the last human left,

As Beelzebub growled louder, as the man cried, accepting his Death,

Beelzebub recovers, after seeing himself in a bloody mess,

Crying in his own, realizing he's still enjoying himself.

He saw his reflection, in the pool of blood beside him,

His face no longer, the image he wanted to see,

He felt ever more depressed, knowing that changing his behaviour was impossible,

He loved every bit of it,

Although in the end, it felt awful.

He had his hunger shut for the moment,

Yet the thought that he may never change,

Had yet been successful to cause him torment.

...

Asmodeus and Sellena looked under the stars,

The balcony sure was a walk so far,

But it was worth it, as they saw the peaceful scenery,

Although for the male demon, he'd rather watch his darling's beauty.

Yet, what he saw was Sellena seemingly looking for a way out,

Her eyes were looking at all directions, serious without a doubt,

He felt afraid she'd believe her luck, and so he quickly held her hand,

"Sellena, be careful, you truly don't know this land,

Rashness is one of humanity's strongest enemy,

If you miscalculate, they'd tore you apart immediately,

I cannot help you by then, so just listen to me,

Though a demon, you can trust my sincerity.

So stop whatever you're thinking love,

This place is guarded, below and above,

If you want anything I can give, you say the words,

Just please don't disobey, Lucifer our Lord,"

Sellena knew the fear in his eyes,

The fear of losing here, screams a hidden demise,

He smiles, yet laughed, as she wasn't thinking a way out,

But rather counting the flowers, that managed to grow in the roof about.

"You always think that I would leave you,

I am not stupid enough to try, I knew,

And besides, if I'm leaving, I'll probably take my husband,

After all, isn't that what you want?"

Asmodeus turned red, as he couldn't believe if her words were true or pretend,

He quickly looked away, as Sellena saw the leaves began to sway.

"It's really windy tonight,

It's giving me a chilly fright,"

"Azazel left so it seems,

For he controls most of the wind,

He'd come back eventually,

So don't worry, you still have me,

I'd hug you so you won't catch a cold,"

"Ah, you're rather quite bold,"

"Sellena, do you still want to leave this place?"

She looked at him softly, "Maybe some day,"

"Sellena...don't you love me now?"

Sellena looked away...and simply asked, "How?"

"How?" He repeated, as he waits patiently,

Sellena only leaned her head on his shoulder,

As she looked at him, her eyes gleaming gently.

She didn't respond, as she doesn't want to admit herself,

That she cares for the demon, but doesn't know what she truly felt.

Asmodeus smiles weakly, as he knew there is still confusion,

Maybe it's for the best, because she may leave one day,

For how can a flower bloom alongside destruction?

He places a soft kiss on the top of her head,

Cherishing the moment, he felt he would rarely get,

She didn't do anything, she simply hid her sadness,

Knowing she couldn't stay nor fall in love,

With this demon and this place.

Her strongest enemy was not rashness but love,

And it's harder to close her heart when Asmodeus was determined not to give up.

Deep in her thoughts however was a question,

Asking herself to be sure of her next decision.

If in his arms she didn't melt right away,

Would Asmodeus still respect her as his equal, even today?

Sellena could only hope it wasn't,

As she found herself,

Slowly enjoying the moment.
