Chapter 164: A NIGHTMARE CAME TRUE

Ken was relaxed whilst Lluming was curious,

Usually Ken was tensed, wondering where he'd land to.

But this time, he feels somewhat different,

A glisten of revenge in his eyes.

Lluming was about to speak,

To ask him why,

But at the same time,

He felt challenged,

Could this be a surprise?

Has Ken finally decided to have some confidence?

Or is what he's seeing pure cockiness?

Either ways, he'll make sure to be a lot more stricter,

Since they're fighting in

this open ground, without barriers and people.

"Alright then, show me what you go-"

But Lluming was taken aback by a quick blast.

He barely dodged it, and the wound on his cheek was proof of that,

He felt his heart pounding,

Just...what was that?

But after he recovered, Lluming grinned proudly,

Ken finally was able, to envision him as the enemy.

Ken, felt his hand warm up. It was painful,

But at the same time, he decided to take it as pleasure.

He imagined Lluming the way he imagined his mom,

And that was enough to form another blast in his palms.

Lluming saw that Ken's body moved to the right,

And instinctively aims, but Ken ducked with a smile.

He blasted the energy formed from his body,

Towards the ground, again, forcing Lluming to use his wings.

Irritation was now present on his face,

But at the same time, he felt good that Ken's learning to have face.

Even if he's not used to this version of him,

He's way more confident now, his eyes aiming to win.

Ken on the other hand, knew that he's not the best when it comes to flying,

It feels alien to him, and he always loses footing,

So he decided to be creative, and decided to make energy-based lassos,

But it broke apart, making Lluming get the upper hand.

He tried overwhelming the boy with his own blasts,

And puts on a barrier whenever he'd feel that he'd attack.

But Ken for some reason, kept holding back,

As if storing the energy, he knew would make the shield crack.

Lluming's eyes just showed pure shock,

When a big concentrated blast came to his view,

It was too big for him to see another route,

It caused the ground to shake, and the people to spectate what they're about to do.

Even Samael was curious enough to turn around,

And see the devastation Ken caused to the grounds.

He had his jaw dropped, seeing that not only did the barrier broke,

The once grassy field, also turned into nothing but ashes,

"How could-"

Lluming held his arm, bleeding,

His barrier is thinning,

But...maybe it's because he's half as strong as he should be,

Or was it because Ken had a change of personality?

He seemed more...uncaring and focused,

He looked at Lluming, without the same apologetic excuse.

No, he was there, looking at Lluming with a proud grin,

But his arms, filled with blood, are held up to aim.

Lluming tried to raise his hand,

But was too late since Ken already shot a blow,

that made him unable to stand.

Even his barrier he formed melted easily,

Ken stored Lluming's own attacks...

to destroy his own ultimately.

But despite it, Ken still dropped to the ground first,

His proud expression melting into a pained one,

He lost conciousness, as his hands continued to bleed,

Still Lluming, couldn't help but be pleased.

With pure spite alone he managed to hold that much power,

Although, Lluming had really thought,

He'd have something more.

He forced himself to stand, and walk towards him,

Despite him painfully limping.

He checks on him if he's still concious somehow.

But he doesn't look like that now.

As Ken continued to lose blood,

Lluming tried to carry him with what he have,

And while the other archangels were to help him with carrying,

Lluming abruptly stopped, realizing a fatal something.

Ken was concious the whole time,

But somehow faked his steady breathing.

He quickly pushed the weakened Lluming to the ground,

As he smiles ever happily, "Looks like this is my win!"

Lluming smiles back, forgetting that they were supposed to be enemies,

And somehow he just carried one in his arms, he missed that detail carelessly.

Despite Ken feeling truly dizzy and on the brink of collapse,

He fought even his own, to stay awake enough.

Lluming rose his hands, in surrender.

Knowing he's way too weak to fight anymore.

More so, Ken doesn't look like he still had some in him either,

Both looked way too exhausted and tired.

Michael clapped, as the others cheered both names,

Lluming learned Humility, as Ken learned how to play the game.

Although Ken was still supposed to improve durability,

For a human with limits and mortality, he still fought incredibly.

He knew that enemies would somehow try to come close to their prey when down,

And that could be their biggest flaw somehow.

He gagged some blood from his mouth,

As Michael helped him stand still as Raphael heal his wounds.

"Just what drove you into the mood?"

Raphael asked, quite curious,

As Ken then spoke,

"I just envisioned what sir Lluming told me,

Look at him the way I look at my enemy."

"You did incredible,

I'm sure your mother would have been proud,"

And that careless execution,

Changed Ken's expression all around.

Suddenly, Raphael realized his mistake,

He was sure forgetful, and let it slipped.

He gazed at the young man, who was frozen still.

"Ah, she never would, and never will."

Ken spoke, as hatred marked across his face,

"How funny, she was the one I envisioned slained.

Yes, it's not very heroic of me to think of myself killing my mother,

And yet...that kinda worked better.

I'm sorry for hating her...

I just don't get it.

What's a monster doing,

In a flesh of a mother?"

"Ken, I know it's hard but,

It'd be easier if you let go of the past.

You'll only waste time hating her,

And you'll surely feel much pain holding on those memories,

You'll only suffer."

"How can I forget her?

She's a nightmare that managed to crawl into my reality,

She's the same thing that I see projected in movies,

A mother that doesn't care about her own son,

And would favor the other,

How silly.

She...made me lose faith and waste a lot of my life...

She may have brought me into this world,

But she made it more hard.

I couldn't understand it,

All I did was exist.

And she hated me for it."

Raphael looked at Michael,

As he doesn't know how to comfort Ken,

But the archangel only shook his head,

Sometimes, silence could be best.

That night, Ken couldn't sleep,

He could see very well, the same demon in his dreams.

The demon with black scleras, and skin that looked bleached,

Laughing unto him, as he pull another eye,

And began to carelessly stitch.

He swore he could feel it,

Every pricking of needle,

He tried to scream but hell, nothing comes out,

His vision blurred with the color of red,

As his ears were muffled by a static sound.

And next thing he saw,

Was a fair looking man,

With dull looking eyes,

And a nonexistent smile.

He looks at the crowd of angels,

Praised by their skillset.

As he looks at his own hand,

Wondering in which field would he be praised and deemed worth it.

He tried to walk towards young Leviathan,

Who ignored him, because he's of lower rank.

He tried to walked towards Faegan,

Who apologized, because of a mission he'd take of now.

He had trouble fitting in,

And somehow, he felt his patience growing thin.

Ken felt sadness, seeing that he felt such way too,

But his sadness disappeared, when he saw the scene switch abruptly.

A scene where he purposely caused turmoil,

Injuring what was his brothers and sisters,

Laughing as he continued to descent into a monster,

Until Selaphiel cursed him, to lose his pretty guise, that would match his inner.

Azazel turned mad, with every skin peeled,

As he tried to attack, even an archangel stronger than him.

Selaphiel quickly threw him back to earth,

Where he landed painfully, in a pile of dirt.

His skin was white, and would sting painfully whenever exposed to light,

A metaphor for his own thinking, that he'd quickly deny his wrong, whenever faced with right.

He looked at the puddle of mud to see how he've been,

And saw the most disfigured face he has ever seen.

Crying and desperate, he killed a wandering human,

And used its skin, to make a mask.

It doesn't fit right.

But for the meantime, it would do,

He just needed to hide the face,

So hideous and obscured.

He opened his wings,

And smiles but had hurt his lips,

Until he too, found out,

He grew sharp teeth.

He wanted to cry in desperation,

But realized either ways, he did not want to stay in heaven any longer.

He cannot find anyone that could acknowledge his importance,

He felt so little, like a speck of dust.

The glimpses of memory turned to him cutting humans, fairies and demons alike,

Formulating dark magic, that will rival the light.

Ken felt like puking, with the heavy stench of blood,

Then for some reason, Azazel turned to him,

Until he jolted out awake,

His eyes opened wide.
