Chapter 186: HAVE YOU GONE WEAK?

Sellena quickly prepared herself,

And when it was revealed that she was safe,

Leviathan's eyes were distraught,

He now understood Asmodeus' rage.

He touched the nonexistent horns in his head,

Shivering of what Asmodeus may do next.

While he touch his purple hair,

He couldn't help but somehow feel the heavy weight in the air.

Satan had been staring at him this whole time,

And although Lucifer don't mind,

Satan still doesn't favor the aquatic demon,

As he played with his own brother's darling for no real reason.

His envy had always been something too hard to tolerate,

Even by his own comrades.

And now that they are assembled, as Asmodeus returns,

Leviathan could only sit still in his chair.

("So...she's alive...")

Leviathan thought in his mind.

And as soon as Asmodeus spoke,

He felt a slow ascend of his soul.

"I don't care now who did it to her,"

Asmodeus lied in order for the others to move on.

Satan felt confused however,

Usually, Asmodeus would be shouting like a monster.

How come...he haven't yet lost his temper?

Satan knew that although Asmodeus is not as smart,

He certainly isn't blind.

The guilty expression on Leviathan is obvious,

But no, the demon of lust wasn't at all furious.

Sellena looks at Asmodeus,

Happy that he've learned to control his emotions.

One thing that bothers her however,

Is the fact that she'll live forever.

Immortality, it scares her.

And she knows too well that if the plan fails,

Then she'd spend her lifetime with these devils.

And as Asmodeus see her shift of mood,

He places his hand over hers, to assure her.

Belphegor yawns as Satan talks about their dillemas,

Which greatly irritated the demon of wrath,

"You're only here once in a while,

So can you please avoid sleeping this time?"

Mammon hid his grin,

He felt quite guilty of how much he enjoys this scene.

Elenchos however, felg uncomfortable on his seat,

The war is to happen soon, and even if he made up his mind to fight...he still have qualms and fears.

What if they fail?

What happens next?

Mammon noticed the behaviour of his son,

He used to be focused on Satan,

But he's shaking a bit,

Afraid of some matters Mammon knows well.

"We'll win. The angels will never overpower us.

Lucifer is the new god.

Didn't you see how influential he was?

The humans would choose him over God.

Their actions prove that.

They're much eager to break and form their own laws than follow Him,

We have allies...everywhere.

With many souls at our disposal, what should you fear?

The angels are all the same. Kind, forgiving, and weak."

Elenchos only nods his head,

But it didn't calm him at all,

He feels anxious whenever he hears the word, 'god',

And felt like his abilities weren't enough.

They were curses after all.

All of which are metaphors.

He fears that just like poetry, it may hint their defeat,

And since his ability is turning things to ash, he couldn't help but think he'd end the same.

He is powerful, yes. With the right tactics he could even defeat his father,

But even so, his guts tells him he had higher chances of failing,

Since he's aware that the creations should never challenge the King of all beings.

He sighed.

Being too self-aware is eating him alive.

He was so confident before,

So confident that he'd make a good foe,

But his strong shell is coming off,

Exposing his true self, the one whose weak and soft.

Beelzebub knew that Mammon felt uneasy,

And now even more guilty,

He doesn't know what to say next,

Elenchos' mood didn't even shift.

The hungry demon only patted his back,

And even if he wanted Elenchos to relax,

He knew that the demons really don't have the upper hand,

After all, they are also fighting God.

He doesn't know what to do that point.

Comforting him would only push him to believe the lies they've been instilled.

Telling him to betray and leave may also result in their deaths.

There was nothing he could mutter, he couldn't make him leave or stay.

And even if Belphegor was a bit sleepy,

He could see well the self-awareness of his friends.

They may act like they don't care,

But they're all fully aware.

They're all just continuing this for their own prides,

Because it would hurt them more if they'd simply turn back,

Belphegor too, knows this isn't right,

But to go back to the angel's pack,

No...he was too mad.

All of them had that sin Lucifer has,

Pride.

Far worse than greed, sloth, lust,

Envy, gluttony, wrath.

It was the mother of sins and he hated the fact that he can't get rid of his.

No matter the chances they have,

He'd continue making his point clear.

That his dear Luna didn't deserve it.

She didn't deserve to lose all for the sake of those tasteless humans.

He felt angered that God chose those beings than them,

After all, all they do is cause more problems...

Satan felt uneasy seeing Belphegor gritting his teeth,

More so after seeing that he had crumpled his fists.

Even Lucifer, whose often the most expressive,

Sits bored, listening to him,

While Belphegor seems agressive.

"Are you alright?"

He asked.

Elenchos turns around and felt saddened,

Belphegor was recollecting something in his head.

And although he had no tears left to shed,

The anger in his eye, the regret, they were there.

"You'll get your revenge soon,"

Satan assured.

And Asmodeus cursed under his breath,

If so, then it's hard to convince Belphegor to leave the nest.

But who among his brothers seemed possible to save?

When all he could detect is anger in their heads.

Lucifer noticed the sad expression of Asmodeus,

It felt unusual, like he was a new person.

It was pure, a trace of goodness as he contemplates,

And Lucifer grits his teeth, it reminded him of a certain angel.

Emmanuel used to make such expression too,

And it only pushes him to be more furious.

Those kind, innocent eyes that shows pure concern,

Lucifer lists them, as one of the worst.

He believed they were but lost potentials,

After all, if one erases empathy in their heart,

They could be as dangerous and powerful as himself, maybe even a lot.

It made no sense to Lucifer.

Asmodeus should not feel this way.

He used to be so filled with rage,

And though barely shows focus and admission,

He was reliable, evil, the darkness in his aura, never pales.

But now, the eyes that used to strike fear in the hearts of many,

Turned into this, so soft, kind, assuring.

The same can be said for Beelzebub,

He should have been more agressive, angrier, but he could only see regret in his eyes.

No...there must be something he could do,

Something that will make them remember their rage.

And so, even if Satan hates being interrupted,

Lucifer stood, demanding their attention,

those who dares ignore him won't be spared.

"Have you gone soft, brothers?" He asked in a deep serious manner.

And all six demon Lords couldn't help but shiver.

Mammon was quick to answer he haven't,

As the memory of his former family was clear as day,

He refuses to die, until the angels pay.

Satan smiles and quickly answers as well,

Still angered by the fact he was left for dead.

He had been loyal to them all their life,

But when he proved useless in another fight,

Only Lucifer dared took him back.

Belphegor's heart was split in two.

One, he loved God and His angels,

But he loved his demon brothers too.

He couldn't dare simply abandon them,

And he couldn't forget Luna, the tragedy that happened.

He still thinks she sacrificed for something useless,

That humans should not have exist.

But on the other hand, some humans proved to be worth keeping,

But having a few redeemable humans isn't worth it.

Well, that was...for him.

So he said that he haven't quit.

That he'll not stop till his anger reaches heavens.

He wouldn't have gone mad if the angels didn't mock his sadness.

They were too absorbed of being perfect.

Leviathan rose his hand as well,

Told them he haven't softened one bit.

But none of his brothers seemed to be interested,

So he didn't spoke another word,

And filled with clear embarrassement,

lowered his head and continued to sit.

Asmodeus faked his excitement,

Saying that he've been waiting for such moment.

Such moment to chain the angels one by one,

Rule the world together,

To paint their unfinished plans.

And now..Beelzebub.

The one that knew it was wrong from the start.

The one who regretted his decision since he was dragged to this hell,

But couldn't do anything, since his sin took the best of him.

He felt so afraid, since he isn't as prideful as the demons next to him.

Although a part of him screams that the fate he had was unfair,

A voice in his head tells that he deserves it as well.

But he hoped he could at least have a little more self-control,

Since the meals he had...well, are alive, and-

"Aren't we all?"

Lucifer, suspicious of Beel's weakening desire, walked to the demon's side,

Beelzebub only looked at him, with those orange eyes, begging and tired.

Of all the demons, he was the one who suffered most.

And Lucifer, although wanting to punish him for not answering, couldn't, as he feels pity for him most.

He only smiles, and promises the demon,

"If you cannot fight for yourself, I'll fight for you, my brother."

And Beelzebub could only stay still,

As his cheeks get damped by his own tears.

How could he dare leave?
