Chapter 190: WHAT DIFFERENCE?

Ken felt empty however,

The moment he failed to figure,

And since both feel exact duplicates of the other,

He felt so unsure of how to act,

and he felt time running faster.

But somehow, he felt shocked to see snakes crawling on the floor,

Vomiting liquid of certain colors.

It bubbles when in contact of some,

And somehow, the idea was easy to grasp.

Ken thought that perhaps whoever it reacted to was the demon,

And as he was about to charge, the snakes wrapped itself on certain people,

Then explodes, leaving one-legged demons.

Ken halts, shocked and stunned,

The angels in which the liquid did not react when touched,

Where the ones harmed, and it all happened fast.

Ken could barely blink, could barely breathe,

Was that an attack? A rescue? Was it his or their team?

One angel finally reveals to be in disguise,

Haborym, who looked at Ken with a proud smile.

Ken quickly recognized him as a demon,

And before he could have the wrong suspicions,

Haborym quickly explained himself,

Telling that his late revelation helped.

The demons trusted his scent,

And thus failed to notice his true intent.

The demons on the ground however, felt betrayed,

How dare their master, be the reason for their pitiful state.

The former duke of hell removed the hood of his robe,

And there Ken could see,

How faint his earrings glow.

It looked half-empty, and Haborym knows,

Soon, he wouldn't be able to tell,

Which is which, and who is who.

The true angels felt thankful for his help,

Although Haborym says that he won't do it again.

The hallways are long, dangerous and tricky,

And so will be the demons, they could see.

"I'm afraid even I, am not safe from illusions,

I can't tell which is which, if not for the liquid's reaction,

One thing I'm certain however,

Demons tend to act reckless,

Once the opponent seems weaker.

It's pride, the answer...

All demons possess such high amounts of it,

And if we seem afraid,

And they take the bait...

They'll be much easier to manipulate."

Ken agreed, but soon heard a loud roar from behind.

It took him half a second to realized,

That it was one of Lucifer's hound,

Running quickly towards their group,

With hungry looking eyes, and an obvious desire for food.

Ken, realizing the danger they're situated in,

Quickly aimed at the charging beast.

He feels afraid, but as the assigned lead,

It wouldn't make sense if he'd be the first to leave.

His hand quickly glowed, but rather than blow the beast up to pieces,

It surprisingly absorbed the hound instead.

The angels felt mesmerized, as the dog tried to escape the blinding light,

But Ken could only smile behind his mask.

"Is this how black holes work?"

Ken couldn't help but ask as the dog turned to nothing but mere dust.

He felt heavy howevever,

Implying that the energy he've absorbed is way too much.

He shouldn't have rushed, he thinks,

But the regret soon left,

When he heard more dogs, from the walls within.

The angels, who've finished killing their imposters,

Quickly got Ken covered.

And when the walls did broke off,

As expected, there was a dozen dogs.

Haborym's eyes couldn't follow their movements,

As the smaller dogs were faster, much formidable in his experience.

He quickly told the angels to open their barriers,

As Ken uses his abilities to peer into their actions.

He feels dizzy every time he does so,

But he had no choice.

The dogs are unpredictable,

Too fast, too hard to follow.

And soon he speaks in codes so only his allies will know,

And the dogs, which Haborym reveals to understand speech, will not change their course.

And with his ability to peer into the future,

The angels were saved from some trouble.

That is until they realized,

The dogs were just mere distractions...

Haborym's earrings quickly felt cold,

A reaction only Haborym knows.

The liquid felt frozen, and the red-eyed demon gulped,

A part of him, not wanting to look back.

Suddenly, the crowd heard a mocking laugh,

"Well, well, I didn't know you'd come at all.

And just when I thought you were smart...

You dared...betray us all."

Leviathan says, his heart filled with pain,

Seeing that Lucifer's beloved Haborym,

had already been tamed.

He quickly threw a frozen shard of ice,

Too unexpected for Haborym to dodge,

And because Leviathan's cold and calm voice made it seem like he's still going to talk,

The former duke failed to realize, the unwelcomed plot.

Haborym's blood poured from his cheeks,

And knowing what could happen, quickly covered his wounded skin.

He told the others to run as they were all no match from him.

Their numbers are merely half, of all the strength the demon Lord was given.

The angels ran, and Ken followed despite his confusion,

How easily the angels followed without question,

But he realized that since the angels were much older,

They may have predicted the fight won't go on their favor.

Ken felt quite shocked,

So the angels admitted, they can't fight back.

Leviathan only laughs,

"Look at you, run away like frightened rats.

What difference do you have from us?

You only engage when there's life and grass.

Why? Can't afford losing to one of the weakest lords?

Hah, or perhaps...freezing your blood is something you can't afford?

Either ways, I know this chamber more than you do.

Try to escape, but I'll always...always find you.

I've been informed of your plans long before you arrive,

And soon...all of you will die.

Good luck...trying to survive."

Ken felt chills ran down his spine,

As he hoped he could have the ability to reset time.

But now, he is filled with unspeakable dread,

As his heart ran faster, and he's slowly running out of breath.

His legs feels weaker and weaker,

As the hallways seemed to stretch into infinity,

Hearing the demon's close laughter didn't helped either,

Oh boy, how strong is the impending calamity?

He wanted to take a break,

But knew it was fatal,

He wanted to call for help,

But knew that help was distant.

And even if it pains him to admit,

There was nothing they could recieve,

He just needs to accept,

Moving forward, is their only option left.

"Oh please God...help me not take the wrong step."
