Chapter 41 - Guarding a stupid baron 1

Rofta saw Carlos' evil smile that he quickly hid when he realized it. He didn't point out that the young and disgusting Baron is plotting something as it would be stupid doing it in the city without any evidence. But when Carlos does something out of line, his head will roll, he thought. So what if he's royal? It's not like they would have to be in this city, or even country any longer. The Adventurers Guild isn't important as it's just a means to get stronger and earn some pocket money. There's plenty of other countries, and he will have to part with the party at some time too, as he has some family business to solve.

"May I ask if Lady Lisa isn't with you?" Carlos said with fake politeness and his hands together. If she's here his revenge will have to wait for later.

Marc smiled at his question and said misleadingly on purpose "No, she was too tired and had some problems walking, so I let her sleep." Lisa still had a little hangover so he wasn't totally wrong.

"Tired? Problems with walking? This little bastard had such a relationship with her? Fucking slut. I'm way better than this little shorty. You will die today!" Thought the young Baron while he couldn't help imagine those two doing it. Jealous, he was insanely jealous.

Carlos wasn't the only one who misunderstood. "Whaaat? They are together? Since when? So they have done it? How shameless…" thought Gina under her veil with a red face. She would have looked very innocent if it wasn't for her scar.

"Here we go again..." Thought Rofta before he asked Carlos who's their employer in the meantime "Can we go already?"

"Yes, follow me, peasants!" After knowing Lisa wasn't here, Carlos' attitude immediately went back to his same old bad personality, and walked forward with his chest out, almost breaking his back, trying to show off.

"What an idiot. We are supposed to protect him, so why would he walk in front?" Went through Rofta's mind.

"Ey, baroness. You are walking in the wrong direction!" Yelled Marc, making Carlos's face red with embarrassment and anger.

Protesting Carlos yelled back "Do I look like a woman to you? Don't you see this handsome face?"

Marc nodded like a good boy "Indeed. If you were a woman then every girl out there would feel beautiful compared to your ugly face."

Carlos's guards couldn't stand by any longer when their lord was being looked down upon so they were about to attack.

"How dare you-"

"Enough! Let's go! I have to complete this quest uncle gave me." Interrupted Carlos before he began walking in another direction after Marc pointed it out.

When the trio saw it, none of them could control their expressions properly. Gina sniggered while Rofta couldn't help showing a little smile.

*Pfft* and Marc just laughed without reservation.

One of Carlos' soldiers was forced to stop their lord after he got pushed the task upon him by the other guards. "My lord. You are walking in the wrong direction. It wasn't wrong before…" The bullied Carlos had an expression like he was ready to murder, but he didn't turn around to yell. Instead, he hurriedly walked in the previous direction once again and his guards quickly caught up to him.

"Well, let's just follow him and complete this boring bandit hunt!" Marc said, still disgruntled about choosing such an easy quest.

They traveled around the mountain range, before going north where the guild, Blue Pegasus, was located in canon.

Carlos had lived his whole life like a king and could almost do anything because of his family, but suddenly his uncle had ordered him to hunt some lowly bandits that have gotten rather famous lately. They weren't much of a threat, so the guild just posted Carlos' request as a Gold-rank quest. He only requested help in hope that a female adventure would accept it and have her way with her on the way, before letting his guards have some fun too.

When they reached halfway Carlos suddenly stopped and turned around with a malicious smile.

"You have offered this baron multiple times, so just watch while I grace your female friend with pleasure. This time that stupid hag isn't here to save you." Carlos made his villain speech while looking up and down at Gina's body with lust.

"Disgusting!!" Exclaimed Gina after seeing the nasty look.

Wanting to say something too, Marc opened his mouth but the Baron bet him to it.

"Humph, shut up you lowly peasants, this time you won't get away. My father had one of his strongest bodyguards follow me. Joaquin cut off their legs and get me the girl." Ordered Carlos a man behind him who stepped between his usual weak bodyguards without saying anything. But instead of fulfilling his order, he took out a flute and seemingly signaled someone.

"What are you doing!? It's no time for playing music, you idiot." Yelled a furious Carlos.

"I'm not here to protect you. I'm here to make sure you all die" explained Joaquin with killing intent.

Rofta and Gina had a serious expression on their faces while Marc looked on with excitement. "This quest might not be so boring in the end," thought Marc while looking at Joaquin the pressure he's releasing is strong. Carlos was terrified but he showed a mocking expression after thinking he was stupid. They, after all, have numbers and he's only one man "You are just a stupid bodyguard. Can't you see how many of us there are-" Carlos swallowed his words when he saw people beginning to surround them. They were the bandits he was tasked to hunt.

"What's going on?" Yelled Carlos like a spoiled brat who felt his narrow world fall apart. Joaquin scuffed, looking down on the worthless leech he was ordered to remove before drawing the big but thin long sword on his back and lighting began crackling around it before he turned his wrist and blocked a sword from his right with the side of his sword, with a little delay in his motion.

It was Rofta who decided to use a surprise attack to cleanly decapitate him. Just in case Joaquin managed to react, Rofta had used his Inverted World Magic to throw him off guard from the start, but it didn't have the desired effect as he intended. The two were in a deadlock with their swords intervened. They were two big boys at around the same height and build that is about to have a swordfight.

"Damn, that's not fair! I wanted to fight him." Marc's mood was on a roller coaster. Unhappy, happy, and now unhappy because his prey was taken from him.

The surrounding bandits were about to attack but they silently debated who would get to have the first go at the mysterious-looking Gina by sending signals with their eyes to each other. Weak women are nothing but life stock in the underdeveloped society.

A male bandit sent a signal that said "You take the dwarf!"

Another answered with "No, you take him. Don't think I don't know your intention."

While the two were silently arguing, a lady stopped them before she said with a sultry expression "I will take the girl, it's been a while I had fun with a girl."

"Lesbian!?" Exclaimed Marc in surprise. She was fairly good-looking with curly light purple hair and big breasts and long legs that were exposed because she wears a skimpy outfit. He looked at her breast for a bit before looking at Gina's. "Seems like she already beat you in one department, " he said with a hand on his chin, almost looking like an old judge with years of experience.

"Wha!?-" Gina hid her chest with her hands and looked at Marc with an angry look. She was about to lash out at him, but the lesbian already made her move.

"I'm Emma. Now that we got to know each other, let's get naked together!" The lesbian girl was simply nuts. She began using magic that let her hair grow longer and formed a claw that wanted to grab Gina. Before it could though, a sound of metal sounded.

*Cling*

The lesbian's hair was stopped by a tail that looked like a scorpion's. It was made out of some special metal called Adamantite and had a dark green color. It works by connecting various spine-like discs to balls so it can smoothly bend and maneuver when Gina moves the sand it has inside. The scorpion tail's end is strapped around her lower back so she can use it to pull herself out of harm's way if needed.

(A/N: Looks like this, but with other clothes and a veil.)

The claw made out of hair was now too in a deadlock with Gina's new tool Rofta showed her. They bought it very cheap as it was a failed product of a blacksmith. Afterward, they shamelessly put in a custom order to make some kind of puppet the three put together a sketch of, making the blacksmith think he just got scammed as they used some of his ideas. But as he was intrigued and wanted to know how they planned to make it move he gave them a discount once again, just because his original price was too much for them currently.

Marc's party was all fighting strong opponents while he looked like the bullied kid that was left out and couldn't do anything but watch.

"I feel left out…" Marc mumbled to himself watching the fights before kicking backward to deal with a mob that had sneaked upon him. The poor mob was sent flying like a ragdoll by Marc's paws on his feet.

(A/N: What do you think of the way Gina makes the scorpion tail move? If you have any ideas for a puppet let me know.)
