The kiss

( Clayton's pov)

She is still in the room. So I decide to slip my note under the door. I go back to the party, and no one notices that I was gone. That worked out. I get grabbed from behind, and tackled to the floor. Alex jumps on top of me. So somebody did notice I was gone.

" Where is she!"

" I have no clue what you're talking about. I went to use the restroom." I let out a little chuckle. But Alex doesn't find it very funny. I feel his knuckle connect with my eye. Great. Nice black eye to match my suit.

After the party, I go to the hospital wing to get some ice. They ask me what happened, but I'm not in the mood to share. I go to the rose garden. Lucy missed most of the party. Hopefully she remembers now. My heart pounds, what if she never felt the same way.

I'm startled out of my thoughts by a hand on my shoulder. It's Lucy.

" I saw the pictures." She says. Quite blunt. Like, do you remember, or not? Do you feel the same way?

" And?"

" I remember everything. You mean so much to me." She says. I am taken aback by those words.

" What?" She looks a little flustered, so I quickly stand and pull her in for a kiss. She is taken aback for a second, but then returns the passion. I feel a warmth rising in my heart. I can't help but love her and all she is. Fire arises in her cheeks, but I don't say anything, because know I have it too. I put my hand on the plane of her back and pull her closer, and she buries her hands in my hair. I want to scoop her up and carry her away, somewhere we can just have this, no duties, no obligations, just us.

I pull away first, " Does Alex know?" Lucy avoids my eyes. He doesn't know. When she looks up she notices my eye.

" Did he do this to you?"

" Yeah, but it's nothing. I'm okay." I say, it's a lie, but also the truth. Alex did it, but it hurts a lot. It's not really nothing.

She can tell I'm thinking, so she just pulls me into another kiss. This one soft and passionate. Then, a flash of light blinds us. A photographer, private, has caught us. I let out a soft chuckle, and Lucy laughs along. The camera man shows us the picture, and I ask him to print a copy for us. He just nods and runs off. Lucy and I just look at each other. I get lost so easily in the green forests that are her eyes.
