Internship

Two days passes by really quickly. That's what you have learnt as you got ready to go back to school again.

"Today we will be issuing out your internship requests by the pros. For those that didn't receive, you get to try and apply to be under a pro." Aizawa sensei announced spiritlessly still mummified. The class looked excitedly at the board to see who topped the internship request in the class. Expectedly, you were first in place then, next was Shoto, then Bakugo. The rest of the class had a tiny fraction of the number of internships the top three had, but those who received were still happy non the less.

Shoto looked over to you to congratulate you however, he only saw you dazed face. It was like something was bothering you deeply. Which was true, you barely slept properly since the sports festival as all you could think about was the card you got. 'He's back, I knew I saw him. Why doesn't he want to talk to me face to face. Is he okay?' You felt hurt, confused, happy. It was too many emotions for you to handle at once. You sighed deeply and ruffled your own hair stressed out.

Bakugo turned around and reprimanded you for feeling down when you had the most internship request. That's when you finally realised what was happening. You looked at the board and saw the number of internships. You should have felt ecstatic, proud even. But all you could think about was him.

You and Shoto decided to hang out at his house to talk about the internships and your break as the last you have spoken was when he caught you in the battlefield.

"You know I can tell something is off," he said bluntly as he passed you a cup of water. You quickly took the cup from him and forced a fake laugh, "I'm fine, okay? Don't worry too much." You said lightly while punching his arm softly to get the point across. He stared into your eyes for a few seconds debating on whether to poke further but seeing your strained smile he just sighed and turned his head.

You felt bad for making him worry so you decided to change topics. "So who are you going to go to for your internship?" You asked bubbly. "Endeavor," he stated bluntly. You froze at his reply, you didn't understand why. 'He hurt you, why would you?' You were so shock that it took Shoto to a while to gain back your attention. "I have matters that I need to deal with him and have decided to take this opportunity to do so," he said knowing you wanted to know why. You nodded your head slowly still shock by his decision.

"What about you?" He asked curiously. "Hawks, shocking right even though I don't have wings or ain't half bird I still got his invite," you replied proudly. "Do wish you have wings?" Shoto asked innocently. "Obviously, how cool would it be to be able to fly. If I had wings you would be lucky I would carry you and let you experience what it is like to fly." You stated proudly. Shoto laughed at your childishness as both of you continued your conversation.

"Be careful not to loose your hero costumes while out." Aizawa sensei reminded us one last time before sending us off at the train station. You, Midoriya and Ochako had realised that Iida had been acting strangely distant the last few days and y'all were worried about him. "Hey, if anything is wrong you can tell us you know. We are your friends." Midoriya said warmly to Iida while you and Ochako nodded your heads vigorously. However, he only replied a short okay before walking away.

You sighed at Iida's departure and headed towards your other friends you hugged all of the girls goodbye and fist palmed with Kaminari, Hanta and Kirishima as they left.

You walked up to Bakugo who you now regard as one of your best friend, "Best Jeanist is strict, you think you can handle him?" You asked wanting to piss him off one last time before seeing him off. "Who you think you talking to Time Machine, of course I can handle him, he should be worrying about handling me instead. I am the one who would cause his pro hero ranking to drop. Don't look down o..." you covered his mouth before he could continue ranting and laughed at his reaction. Surprising him you moved forward and hugged him, "see you soon porcupine.". "Tch, yea same." He patted your head then walked away to his train.

"You ready?" You heard someone ask you. You saw that the only two students left were you and Shoto. You smiled brightly at him, "of course!" He smiled at your adorable reaction and leaned forward to hug you wanting him to be the last person you touched before leaving. You extended your arms around his waist and hugged him tightly before letting go. "I'll miss you," you said sincerely. "So will I, don't go getting into trouble while I ain't around okay?" He said softly as he brushed your hair a side. You nodded and waved goodbye to him as you boarded your train.

You sat down looking calmly at the scenery as the train started its departure. Little did you know how eventful the next one week would be.

You opened the door to hawks office only to see two birds inside. (Lol just joking) I mean you opened the door to see Hawks talking to Tokoyami who you already anticipated would be in the same internship as you after all those two were similar. "You're late and it's the first day." Hawks said bluntly. "Oh come one gimme a break, it's only 20mins," you said sassily as you smiled at him. He smiled back at you unwillingly as he saw you smile. "I missed you," he said honestly. "Same," you replied while nodding your head.

"L/n you know Hawks?" Tokoyami asked curiously. "Mmm. We are under the same agency. He is basically a big bro to me." You said cheerfully as you nudged Hawks shoulder. "I would say mentor but whatever," Hawks corrected.

Tokoyami nodded his head, not poking further making you feel grateful that he didn't. "Go change we will be patrolling today." Hawks said while yawning as he left the room. "He's still the same," you shakes your head laughing as you commented to Tokoyami.

The next few days were pretty uneventful, the three of you only patrolled the neighborhood and trained combat skills during your free time. The most eventful thing that probably occurred was when y'all were in the woods training when snake popped out of nowhere scaring the two bird boys death. Now that was worth training in the forest for.

During the night of the 3rd day of internship, Hawks was called to attend an important business and left Tokoyami and you in-charge of night patrolling. Deciding to split up and cover more ground you and Tokoyami walked in opposite directions from the office. You yawned while walking through the streets helping civilians when ever needed. However, due to the fact that you haven't gotten your provisional hero license yet you were unable to use your quirk and help others at full potential.

Just as you were done with one loop, you phone vibrated. You turned on your phone to see a random location sent to you from Midoriya. 'Is he bored or something? But he would never sent anything unnecessary unless it is of All Might.' You looked at the location again and gripped onto your phone tighter before making the decision to go there.

You slowed down time slightly to give you the advantage of reaching his location sooner without being too out if breath. Just as you reached the corner of the alley you saw that it was already really dark and might be too late to help Midoriya if anything actually happened. You cursed yourself for not being faster as you ran into the alley.

Just as you did so what you saw shocked you so much that you couldn't move. On the floor was Iida, Midoriya and pro hero Native paralysed on the ground while Shoto was fighting against, hero killer: Stain.

"Y/n you're here." Midoriya spoke up causing you to get back to your senses. So he isn't paralyse? "Don't let Stain ingest your blood he can paralyse you with it." Midoriya said quickly to warn you. Just as you looked up to see Stain, you saw him coming close to Shoto ready to like the scar on his face. 'Oh hell no are you licking him.' You paused Stain giving Shoto the opportunity to burn Stain.

"Thanks," Shoto said quickly but sincerely. "Any day," you replied back swiftly. Just as Stain was about to stand back up Midoriya stood up from the ground, 'his quirk must be only temporary.' As Stain came rushing towards the three of you, you paused his body allowing Midoriya and Shoto to successfully knock out Stain.

You grabbed a piece of rope that you saw on the ground and tied up Stain. While you were doing so Iida and Native were starting to be able to move again and cops could be heard coming around to the corner. You looked a the 4 boys and felt extremely bad for not reaching earlier. Just then a wave of nauseousness hit you and you felt yourself gag. 'Shit, I hit my limit again. Stain must possess a lot of power to take such a toll on me not to say I slowed down time for a good hour.' You stumbled onto a nearby wall to stable yourself and slowly took in deep breaths.

Shoto turned to his head to see your pale fragile state and rushed over to help you. "Sorry, I'm so weak," you said softly with a weak smile. He looked at you confused, "weak? You were never weak to me," he said honestly.

The same night the four of you (UA students) were brought to the nearby hospital for recovery and y'all rested there till the next day.

When you woke up from your slumber you looked at the clock hung on the wall. 7.00 AM Damn messed up sleep schedule. You tried to sleep longer but was unable to do so, you sat up and looked around the room to see Shoto still sleeping peacefully in his bed. You took of your oxygen mask and walked to his bedside quietly not wanting to wake up any of the boys.

You squatted down and stared at his face giggling internally at how adorable he looked like when he was asleep. You couldn't help yourself and ran your hands through his soft duo-coloured hair.

"You done staring," Shoto's mouth suddenly opened and smirk. You jumped in surprise by his words and accidentally landed you butt on the floor. Oww! You diverted your gaze away from his heterochromia eyes, blushing deeply. You heard him sit up from his bed and stood up to help you get up from the floor.

"Sorry, this so embarrassing," you stated truthfully. As you rubbed your arms looking away. "Hey don't feel like that, if it makes you feel any better I stared at you while you slept once before during the UA sports fest." He said warmly. You flinched at the word UA sports fest, when you turned to Shoto it made it even worse when you looked at his turquoise left eye.

Shoto saw your reaction and wanted to ask what was wrong but was cut off by the other two boys waking up. "Midoriya, Iida how are y'all feeling?" You asked quickly to divert Shoto's attention. After we learnt about their medical conditions you felt extremely bad for Iida as he still had a long life to live, but he seemed confident to not let that bring him down making you happy.

Just then your mentors walked in looking disappointed. "y/n what were you thinking you could have been hurt." Hawks stated furiously but you looked through his yellow-tinted visor and saw concern in his eyes. "You know I don't die that easily. I'm sorry to have made you worried." You said the first sentence playful while walking to him but sincerely said the next when you hugged him.

He wanted to be angry with you but just couldn't, you were right he was an elder brother to you and you were his younger sister. Suddenly, a very tall dog walked into the room calling for UA students attention. "When did dogs become so evolved?" You asked Hawks quietly. "Don't be rude he is the police chief," Hawks said seriously but you could see that he wanted to laugh too. Which made it even harder for you to contain your own laughter.

After negotiation to let us off by letting Endeavor take all the credit the adults left the room to let y'all rest for another day. You felt pissed that Endeavor took the credit, it wasn't that you wanted to be praised for famous, if they boys were credited and you weren't you would have been fine with it. But letting Endeavor talk it all while doing nothing just made you pissed off. You hated that man's guts. However, you couldn't do anything. Sighed and looked out the window, staring at the orange hue caused setting sun.

As you looked out of the window, Shoto stared at you. Amazed by your beauty, Shoto never thought that he would develop such feelings, especially having seen one that didn't end well. He didn't want to hurt anybody, especially not you now.
